Abstract

We may be for a way of thehistorical truth if we do not confessthe extreme importance of Handiertown ,either in its names events,settlements or the attitude of itspopulation towards the Ottomanpolicy and then their role in resistingthe British Occupation since 1914 upto the international revolution of1920 .India ,the emergence of thistown was Spontaneously and couldbe attributed to its geographicallocation ,particularly after diggingAl-Hindi water dam which made thisarea as an attracting Center for mostof surrouncling tribes that works inCultivation .The Indian foundation Aula , infact , took cure not only in theestablishment of that dam but indeveloping the economic and solidlife those tribes also therefore , Hinditown received them with the requiredaccommodations the growth of theCity lasted so fast that the city waspromoted to be as Qa'Im maqam(ottoman name means sub town ) andin the era of the ottoman reformerwali (governor) Midhat Basha (1869-1872 ) this city got so muchattention in many sides oforganization , administration ,as itwas enaxed to Hilla liwa (ottomanname means city ) and publicservices .The settlement in Hindyia,really , was accompanied by tribalconflict for owning its rich reveries,bat this straggle , Finallytransformed into a conflict withauthorities which increased the taxesand uses tyranic ways in dealing withthe native tribes .This conflict resulted in tribal,social and religions characters' whoGove much efforts in striving at thetime of crises , so those personalitieswere successful against the ottomansand Forced the latter to the theirclaims This research has beendevoted to study the social sides ofthe town and the history of thesettlement , name , location , areaand growth the social phenomenonof the
