دراسة عقبات تطبيق ادارة الجودة الشاملة في التعليم الجامعي الاهلي

Abstract

Total Quality Management (TQM) has witnessed significant successesat the academic and the applied levels. TQM has been applied widelyin the higher education in the western hemisphere because it adoptsadvanced managerial methods to manage quality, and it seekscontinuous improvements in the inputs, processes, and outputs. Forthese reasons and others, private colleges in Iraq should pay attentionto this philosophy and start to apply it gradually. The adoption of TQMshall assist private colleges in graduating human resources equippedwith suitable knowledge and technology to participate in economicdevelopment in Iraq. The objective of this research is to shed light onthe most important obstacles that impede the application of TQM in asample of private colleges in Baghdad. The researchers adopteddescriptive and inferential statistics to present the questionnaire'sresults, and in testing the research hypothesis. The statisticalanalysis revealed that the sample members agree on the obstaclesidentified in this research and the necessity of minimizing theseobstacles to enable private universities to participate in the nationaldevelopment in Iraq. This research recommends the importance ofcreating a Quality Section at the Ministry of Higher Education andScientific Research to supervise the adoption of TQM in the privatecolleges in Iraq.
