The Impact of the Referential Fields in Distributing Poetic Meters

Abstract

A lot of teachers and students of Arabic think that there is a difficulty in prosody for the dryness of its vocabularies, abundance of its terms and meters which make the student reluctant. Since we are closely related to this material, we say that their claim is correct because of the methods used in presenting prosody in books and the methods of teaching it. The books remain the same for one-author takes from the other without considering the development of opinions and the progress of sciences. Each book should be written for the people of its period with the reservation of the basics and principles. This research is new in its content and modern in its presentation. It depends on presenting prosody relying on the phonetic syllables and giving a mathematic symbol for each syllable. It also distributes the meters in a new way which does not violate the essentials adopted by the old scholars making prosody then closer and easier to the student's mentality.
