Knowledge Needs of Agricultural Agents In Ninevah Governorate In The Field of Environmental Awareness

Abstract

The research aimed at determining the knowledge needs of agricultural agents in Ninevah governorate in the fields of environmental awareness and determining the relationship with some variables. The research population included 247 agricultural agents, a random sample of 138 was selected, the data were collected through questionnaire consisted of two parts. The first part included personal and vocathonal information while the second part consist of 63 items to measure the environmental awareness ,a face and content validity were accounted and alpha-cronbach was used to obtain the reliability of the items .After collecting data the following statistical methods were used to analyze the data :persons correlation ,spearman-rank correlation, and step-wise regression .the results revealed that there were high need for environmental awareness ,and there were significant relationship with sources of information ,attitude towards environmental work ,and desire for newnees ,while there were no relationship with level of education, years of employment ,specialization ,job title ,participation in training . Three variables contributed in explaining the variance in knowledge needs with 15.6% which are :desire for newness ,sources of information ,and attitude towards environmental work.
