Effect of water extracts of some plant on the biological of the straw berry spider mites Tetranychus turkestani (Vgaron&Nikvlski) (Tetanychidae:Acari)

Abstract

This research has been conducted to measure the efficiency of four plant extracts to control the straw berry spider mite Tetranychus turkestani(Vag&Nik). These extracts come from (1)Citrullus Colocynthisis,(2)Juglans regia ,(3)Conocorpus lancifolius, and(4)Sizygium aromaticum. The extracts are taken in four concentrations as follows respectively: 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% by using the leaf Disc method in treating the contours &the eggs & the nymphs &the adult related to the mites& Tetranychus turkestani .And the results have shown significant differences between the extracts and concentrations the extracts of both Juglans regia and Citrullus Colocynthisis exceed the extracts &both Sizygium aromaticum and Conocorpus lancifolius as the eggs &the mites fail to hatch sinces the percentage of hatching mounts to 100% while the hatching percentage of the extracts of both Conocorpus lancifolius and Sizygium aromaticum mount to be 96%, and 67% respectively with 100% concentrations in all treatments and within the same periodof time .In contrast, the reduction percentage & hatching in other concentrations which are 25%,50%,and 75% are as follows: Citrullus Colocynthisis has got 56%,81%, and 97% while Juglans regia has the following percentage: 71% ,88% and 100% with a 75% concentrations then Sizygium aromaticum comes next with 69%,77%, and 92% percentage the last is Conocorpus lancifolius which recorder a less reduction percentage hatching mites respectively for the same period of time the effect of plant water extracts in the nymph stage exceed that & Juglans regia and Conocorpus lancifolius hence, the perishing percentage in both has mounted to 100% after three days while the percentage inthe extracts of Citrullus Colocynthisis and Sizygium aromaticum get to 97% and 91% as some significant differences have been noticed among all extracts there fover ,the perishing percentage in the concentrations of25% ,50%, and 75% for Citrullus Colocynthisis turns to 65%,75,and 83%, for Juglans regia , 71%,86% and 91%, for Sizygium aromaticum ,60%,68%, and 78% and for Conocorpus lancifolius 81% ,85%, and 98% which is the highest perishing percentage noticed on the nymphs of Tetranychus turkestani(Vag&Nik). With the some concentrations respectively in the same dean, the perishing percentage in the adult mites of Tetranychus turkestani(Vag&Nik). Has topped to 100% in the extracts Juglans regia and Conocorpus lancifolius and 94% in Citrullus Colocynthisis and then last Sizygium aromaticum as it gets 84% . So the other concentrations of 25%,50%, and 75% have recorder 63%,75%, and 82% in Citrullus Colocynthisis ,67%,81% and 94% in Juglans regia, 52%,61%and 79% in Sizygium aromaticum and 86% 91% and 93% in Conocorpus lancifolius respectively and with the same concentrations and period of time.
