Abstract

This analysis study dealt with studying TV images for a satellite channel transmitted on three satellite (Arab Sat, Nile Sat, and Hot Bird) to find best reliable threshold to get the best edges as well as studying contrast for those images in threshold areas where sobel operation was used to designate the threshold which identified the best satellite broadcasting image drawing contrast value as a function for threshold of edge detection . An analysis study was made for that image depending statistical features through calculating intensity distribution of the color component (RGB) and light compound (L) for the areas. Upon studying and calculating TV images statistical features, it was noticed that the peaks of histograms have decreased upon increasing the threshold of the edges areas since most weak threshold in the captured images are in the light area (high intensity). Thus, when increasing the threshold; the amount of the edges decreased as well as the general mean for the edges element. When studying detection of the image edges, it was found that the best threshold is TH=30 which gave the highest contrast (Ct) in all three satellites. The satellites broadcasting for AL-Hura channel was the best on Hot Bird then Nile Sat then Arab Sat.

Abstract

In this paper, we have presented a modified transfer matrix method to study the propagation characteristics and mode field profile for planar optical waveguides with arbitrary shaped profiles. The proposed method giu", u new characteristic equation with mode index, 4, which enables us to restrict the analysis for a specific mode. The characteristic equation has been formulated numerically using Fortran Power Station +.0 package. The application of this method to graded index waveguides are demonstrated.

Abstract

Users are not concerned with the computer faults, but they need the computer working in a correct mode specially in critical circumstances. Fault Tolerant Computing (FTC) plays a important role especially since early fifties. This area opens a wide aspect to be researched are4 it involves varieties of categorizations of techniques towards the effort to make system fault tolerant, modeling and testing helping with system development, and bench-marking to evaluate and compare systems. The concept, model, and methodology of fault tolerant computing are very much controversial to software while they are considered fairly mature for hardware. Often refer to real-time critical systems as embedded systems. Fault tolerant computing far from strictly application the system development and operational process in the above area.

Abstract

One of independent laser-based technique is presented to measure liquid refractive index, which is important in medical and other applications. Semiconductor laser diode of = 630nrn wavelength serves as alight source for measurement. Results are presented for different types of liquids in two methods, one of these methods is done by matlab language as the theoretical result, and the other method is the opti-cad program which represented the simulation results. Good matching found between the two the theoretical and simulation results. The experimental setup is high precision, non-contact between the tools and the liquid which is under test.

Abstract

Chemical bath deposition method was used to prepared PbS nanocrystalline thin films. lrad acetate and lead nitrate were used as a sources of lead ions Pb2* in solution and thiuoria as a source to sulfur ions 52- . PbS thin films have been deposited at room temperature and 335K with different lead ions source molarity (0.05,0.1 and 0.15M). Study the struchre properties of prepared thin films by X-ray diffraction shows that all films were polycrystalline and possessed cubic skucture. Optical energy gaps of films were calculated depending on the effective mass models and found that the optical energy gap increased with decreasing in gra.in size of cryntal and the values werc in range(0.62- 1.29)eV.

Abstract

In this paper used wet etching and dry etching technologies to etch Si-pType samples, the result were: - * wet etching (Isohopic etch, low damage on the surface, High selectivity, Smooth surface). *dry etching (Anisotropic etch, High damage on the surface, [ow selectivity, Roughness surface). Therefore, we can say that Dry or plasma etching has presented solutions to virtually all of the difficulties associated with wet etching.

Mathematical Expression for the Magnetic Field of Single Polepiece Lenses

Abstract

With the aid of the finite element method, an investigation has been carried out concerning the determination of mathematical expressions for the axial magnetic field distribution of zero'bore single polepiece lenses with various pole geometries under the absence of magnetic saturation. Polepieces of flat and cuved tip have been considered under constant energising conditions. The computations have shown that different mathematical models would be needed to represent the lens magnetic flux density distribution with different shapes of the s Ingle polepiace. The results should be useful in predicting the optical parameters of the single polepiece lens by using the suitable expression for the axial magnetic field.

Abstract

This research aimed at studying the noise and knowing its type and the appearance reasons through analyzing the noise siatistically oting a new way of excluding the two noisy multiplicaiive and additive operators, then finding the statisiical distribution followed by those noisy operators. we have cut three areas different homogenized of TV images, then we studied the statistical curves of this regions in order to know the type of noise, as well as we studying the relation between the angle of rotating the antenna and the statistical operators which include the mean P,t as well to -know the bfst image and the worse image ( the best angle TV signal Receivin! and the worse angle TV signal Receiving ) .Then we studied the relation between the mean p and standard deviation o for regions illumination component for the small angles of rotating the antenna so as to know the type of noise.

Abstract

This research studies the Spectroscopy and Thermodynamic Properties for Methyl fluoride CH3F , Also the study include plote of molecule potential energy curve by changing the bond length, then the calculation of the spectral dissociation energy which was (D"= 2'2eY for C-H bond also (3.75 eV) for C-F bond. And study the vibration mode of CH3F and frequency were active in Raman and IR spectra due to variable in polarization and dipole moment of molecule respectivity. Thermodynamic properties has been calculated at room temperature 298 K, for heat of Formation (53 kcaVmol) ,Enthalpy Qa5a.606 caVmol), Heat Capacity (9 calll(mol), Entropy (59 cal/k.mol)and Gibbs Energy (- l74C0 cal/trVmol) Values of these function have been calculated at thermal range (100-3000K). Data relation for each property have been drown with temperature and all results are in a good identical perfect to experimental results. 147

Abstract

Fourteen selected rock samples from lower and middle parts of Zubatu Formation in Zubair lW (h-109) and Zabu 43 (h43) boreholes of Zubair field at southern kaq. Standard palynological processing techniques were used to extract the acid resistant organic matter. Assemblages of miospores and dinoflagellate cysts encountered in core samples from two boreholes indicate Barremian to Aptian agerange for the lower and middle parts of Zubur Formation. According to the statistical analysis of organic matter in the studied sections included three types of palynofacies : @F-l) Marginal dysoxic- anoxic basin facies is characterized by diluted amorphous organic matter of moderate preservation, high phytoclasts and the kerogen in this facies is type Itr gas prone.( PF-2) Oxic shelf facies is characterized by phytoclasts predominantly and low preservation amorphous organic matter, the kerogen in this facies is represented by two types trI-IV gas prone.(PF-3) Shelf to basin transition facies (suboxic - dysoxic) is characterized by increased subsidence and water depth and the kerogen in this facies is type tr-Itr oil - gas prone. From the facies analysis it appeared that the lower and middle strata of the formation had deposited in environments extending from deltaic environment to neritic environment near the shore.

Abstract

Thin films of zinc selenide ZnSe were prepared by thermal evaporation in vacuum with different thickness (200G3000-5OOO)A deposited on glass substraties. Electrical properties of the prepared films were studied at temperature (373)K then cooling to (293)K and annealing to (423)K .the graph shows linear relation between current and voltage.The result have shown decreases in the values of current and electrical conductivity when cooling the sample and after annealing and increase in current and electrical conductivity when heated.

Abstract

The color image has the ability to carry more information from that of gray images, so this reveals the need to use these images in many application. But these images occur to many noises such as Gaussian noise. In this work we introduce a new color adaptive filter which is used in removing Gaussian noise from color image called Least Square Line Fitting (LSLF). We are camper this filter with other filters as mean filter and median (traditional filters )filter and Lee's filter(adaptive filter) by dependent on normalized mean square error is used (NMSE) in order to know efficiency of this filter . The color image processing by filters is counted on by using television color space YIQ color transformation.

Abstract

I study the bending effect of the single-mode fiber optic on the mean intensity of spot laser at long distance (247)cm from laser source. I use Single-mode fiber optics have been used , such fiber was made from silica and turn over cylinders with variable diameters (3 , 5 and l0 )cm to obtain different bending diameter of optical fiber . Also i use Diode laser of wavelength (630- 680)nm and (5)mW maximum power have been used . The mean intensity of spot laser was calculated from algorithm program for each spot image which captured by digital qlmera connected to computer.There is three color bands (red, green, and blue) were clear in present study work .The mean intensity of red color was dominant independent of diameter of fiber. Increasing the bending diameter of fiber optic led to increase the mean intensity of three colors and decreasing with increasing the number of tums of fiber optic. I obtain region of high coherence for red color because of nearly constant of mean intensity, so that the fiber with diameter (lOcm) is the best.

Abstract

CdSe thin films (360110 nm) were deposited onto glass substrate by using thermal evaporation technique. Thin films of deposition rate in range (0.8, 1.0, 1.2 nm/sec) were annealed at different temperature rang (303 - 473 K). CdSe films shows allow and direct energy gap (1.71-1.98 eV), which is study as function of annealing temperature and rate deposition. Annealing at (423 K) causes increase energy gap to while annealing at (373 K) and (473 K) cause's decreases in energy gap. Rate deposition at (1.0 nrn/sec) shows increasing in energy gap for all annealing temperature.

Abstract

In this research A simple model has been presented for polyvinyl pyrrolidone aqueous solutions to predict wave amplitude in C.R.O by using Ulrasonic technician (ho,, "non-radiated", hri, "irradiated", and h*i, ils a function of h**). The use of this model reflects a good result for the samples of PVPD aqueous solutions, which was radiated with gaflrma rays of 150 Rad/min, dose for 22 min at room temperature, therefore this factor, will be constant in this work. These data were used to develop a new method to predict the wave amplitude in C.R.O. The model can be used to calculate the ho,, & h"i, for a given primary amplitude of wave in C.R.O ( h-o, h*), the distance between receiver and ultrasonic wave sender x, and PVPD concentration v. From this model we can calculate absorption coefficient (c) for non radiated and irradiated PVPD as a function of h,*, h'i,, and v. This prediction method give a good agreement with the measured values, where the absolute average error for wave amplitude in C.R.O for non-radiated h,- is (1.02), wave amplitude for iradiated in C.R.O h*i' is (0.14), and wave amplitude in C.R.O hxir as a function of h"* is (0.25). The absolute average error for non-radiated (a) is (0.45), and irradiated (c) is (1.04) for all data points of PVPD.

Abstract

In this research the effect of Gamma ray (T- ray) in some electric properties' of copper have been studied which were resistance (R (0)), current (I (A) & power (P (w)). For this research the tow kind of copper samples have been prepared, one sulTounded by insulator, and the other was not. Each one of tow kinds of copper samples have been divided in to (6) samples, (5) of them have been irradiated by gamma ray with doses (14,28, 42, 56,70( Gy)), and the last one of each kind of copper were left as control samples in ordered to compared with, contol samples mentioned to them in this research by (0 (GV)) dose. The changing in (R), (D, & (P) values with increasing of (y -ray) have been plotted as graphs. It was clearly observed that the resistance (R) were increased (compared with control samples) with first tow (y -ray) doses (14,28(Gy)), that increasing of (R) associated with increasing of current and power, but when the doses of (y -ray) have been increased to (42(Gy)) inverse case was happened were (R) value decreased with increasing of (I) &(P) in each kind of copper samples , increasing of (I) &(P) in this dose (az(Gy)) make the copper as super conductors in ordinary temperature , so this dose considered as an effective dose in this research . When (y -ray) doses have been increased to (56, 70( Gy)), (R) decreased to minimum values, with certainly increasing of (I) & (P) to maximum values. the abnormally decreasing of (R) &increasing of (I)&(P) proved of destroying atomic structure of copper ,that because of transform most of the electrons in copper (with effect of radiation) atoms to moving charges

Abstract

The study in this search of thermal properties for Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) by using semi-empirical programs and method MNDO/PM3. The research plan depended on two parts, the first part represented by determine the equilibrium geometry form for molecular by using PC model program with internal coordinate (r,0o,g) and get the initial matrix where contain on (atoms, distance between atoms by angstrom unit (r/A), angle (0) and dehidral (g). The second part is represented by use this matrix from part 1, and use it in WinmopacT.2l progmm to determine the minimum total energy at equilibrium structure for molecules, this studies and calculations yielded the equilibrium geometries distance, energetic value, for (GaAs) total energy was (-183.986eV) at equilibrium distance for above molecules were (1.7A). Through unharmonic potential energy curve we founded the spectroscopic dissociation energy for GaAs (4.751eV). Also; the moment of inertia which was for the molecular GaAs have equal two primitive values: IA=0.000000, Is=0.1 5246 I cmr, Ic=O. I 5246 I cm- I The thermodynamic properties for molecular such as heat of formation, enthalpy, entropy, heat capacity in addition the free Gibbes energy were calculate at room temperature (298K). The heat of formation for (GaAs) is (44.686 Kcal/mol) enthalpy (2203.3835ca1/mol), heat capacity (8.1567 callmol.K), entropy (2.3025 call mol. K) and Gibbs energy (- I 63 62.7 62callmol).

Abstract

This work describes the atomic laser isotope separation (LIS). The (LIS) plant means calculating the values of a large number of parameters in order to optimize some objective function. Here we use simple model to describe the elementary physical processes: evaporation, vapor expansion, interaction between photons and atoms, ion extraction etc...concentrated on theoretical and empirical bases. An optimization process for the separation of Uranium isotopes is described and discussed.

Abstract

In this work, 2-amino-5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiodizole (1) were prepared from thiosemicarbazide and csz in the presence of anhydrous NazCOr. The Schiff base (2) was prepared from the corresponding l,S,4.thiadiazole derivatives (1) compound (3) was obtained from reaction of compound (2) with hydrazine hydrate and then converted into compounds (4,5) by refluxing of compound (3) with acetyle acetone and Ethyle aceto acetate) reflexing in boiling abs-ethanol for 7h, treatment of the Schiff base (4,5) with formaldehyde in the presence of NaoH afforded the corresponding methylolic resins (6,7) which upon treating with methanol or butanol in the presence of con. HzSO+ gave etheric resins (8,10) and (9,11) respectively' The epoxy resins (12,14) and (13,15) were prePared respectively from the corresponding etheric resins (8-11) and eipy chlorohydrin in presence of NaoH. Finally reaction of appropriate epoxy resin (14,15) with morpholine leads to ring open giving resin with unstitched ring (16,17) respectively.

Abstract

In this work different types of phenolic resins were synthesized from many substituted phenols such as P-N,Ndiethylamino phenol and m-N,Ndiethyl amino phenol and 1,8-DihydroxyNaphthaline with formaldehyde, the linier polymers (P1-P3)and crosslinked polymers (Ps,Pa) were obtained, and characterized by IR spectroscopy and thermogravimetry was measured . we found that the higher thermal resistance and higher mechanical properties be possibly used insulation materials and for others industrial applications.

Abstract

The study was conducted on peels of mature red punica granatum which were taken from Baghdad's farms. This study included revealing the effective chemical components of red punica granatum L (punicaceae) peels, as this study showed that the aqueous extract of the punica granatum peels within an acidic (near to neutral) media contains glycosides, phenols, tannins, resins and alkaloids. It also examined the effect of aqueous extract on different types of microorganisms, it was noted that the concentration of (lmg / ml) has a good effect against the inhibition of intended microorganisms and the inhibition of SGOT by c/o- The trace element results of the punica granatum peels powder exhibited that it contains (K, Ca, Na, Fe, Cu, Zn and Cr) with a concentrations of (15200, 7300, 3600, ll8, 48, 30 and 8) ppm respectively.
