Synthesis of New 4-Aminoantipyrine derivatives

Abstract

Refluxing of 4-aminoantipyrine with propargyl chloride or p-chloro propinyl chloride in the presence of triethylainine gave the 4-(arnino-2-propinyl) antipyrine (2) or 4-[(aminopropinyl)-3-chloro)] antipyrine (3) respectively in good yield. When compound (2) was refluxed with secondary amines and paraformaldehyde in the presence of cuprous chloride, the corresponding Mannich Bases (4-10) were achieved, while the reaction of compound (3) with secondary amines in boiling ethanol gave the 4-(amino propinyl-3-alkyl/ary! amino) antipyrine (11-16) in quantitative yields. The intended compounds were identified by their IR, UV spectra and CRN. analyses data.

Abstract

The present study was undertaken to assess oxidative stress by measuring the level of plasma malondialdehyde (MDA) and total thiol, and relate them to the level of some antioxidants such as p-carotene, vitamins (A, E & C), trace elements (Cu, Zn, & Se), albumin in plasma of uterus cancer patients before starting treatment and after remission. Blood specimens were taken from 20 newly diagnosed uterus patients. Only 10 patients of those were followed up. The results were compared with those obtained from 20 healthy individuals matching in age and sex. 1'hc uterus cancer patients showed a significant reduction in plasma p-carotene, vitamins (A, E & C), albumin, total thiol, Zn, & Se. While plasma MDA, Cu & Cu / Zn ratios were significantly elevated. Ali above-mentioned parameters were normal or near to normal at remission.

Abstract

Deficiency of many vitamins and minerals has been associated with depressed immunity. Good epidemiological evidence on the relationship between nutrition and cancer were reviewed. The present study was undertaken to assess the nutritional state of patients with different types of leukemia as indicated by plasma levels of the vitamins A (and its precursor beta-carotenc), E & C, some trace elements (Zn, Cu & Se), albumin & total thiol. For this purpose blood specimens were taken from 105 newly diagnosed leukemic patients. They consisted of 27 patients with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL), 27 with acute myelocytic leukemia (AML), 23 with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) & 28 with chronic myelocytic leukemia (CML), only 86 of those patients were followed up, they were 22 with ALL, 21 with AML,, 20 with CLL & 23 with CML. T he results were compared with those obtained from 50 healthy individuals matching in age and sex. The leukemic patients showed a significant reduction in plasma beta-carotene. vitamins (A. E & C), albumin, total thiol, Zn, & Se levels. While plasma Cu & Cu / Zn ratios were significantly elevated. All above-mentioned parameters were normal or near to normal at remission.

Abstract

tnino-thiadiazolyl cephalosporins were designed, synthesized and their structures were characterized by spectral and elemental analysis. These cephalosporins included derivatives 7-amino cephalosporanic acid ,acylated at the C7-amino group. The acyl side chain contained 2-amino 5-mercapto-l,3,4,thiadiazole cross-linked with benzaldchyde or p-chlorobenzaldehvdc through a Schiffs base. The Cephalosprin nuleus was linked with these Schiffs bases through a sulfide linkage using chloroacetic acid as a spacer arm, or through a disulfide bond using mercaptoacetic acid as a spacer arm. These aminothiadiazoyl-Ccph alosporins were characterized using spectral and elemental analysis. A preliminary antimicrobial assay for these novel aminothiadiazolyl-cephalosporins was achieved using representative strains of G(+) and G(-) bacteria and Candida Albicans. The prepared cephalosporins showed reasonable antimicrobial potency when compared with Cephalexin.

Abstract

The present study focused on modification of the optical properties of polystyrene (PS) films with 2N-salicylidene-5-(p-nitro pheny|)-l,3,4-thiadiazole (SN) complexes, The polystyrene films were cast from chloroform solvent with the thickness of 30 micrometer. The polystyrene films composites with 0.5% by weight of this additive. The optical data were analyzed and interpreted in term of electronic transition. According to energy gap data the conductivity of polymer with and without additives were obtained.
