Abstract

The subject of fish farming in the desert areas is one of the important topics, because it deals with the desert environment known as sandy land and the scarcity of water and its climate is moderate throughout the year. Therefore, the establishment of such projects in the desert environment, would serve to increase animal production of fish that are highly nutritious as a rich source of protein mineral and vitamins, in addition of that to best use of groundwater, which is characterized by its water clean Microbiology for free from contaminants plant and animal, the other hand, fish farming projects working on creating an environmental balance of the natural elements in the desert and the absorption of unemployment through the operation of labor and to achieve stability in the desert environment and increase national income of the country. The research found that each (4) kg of feed produces about (1) kg meat, and the number of larvae that we get from each meal of eggs and placed in the hatchery production of fingerlings ponds up to about (1000000) larva. Relied on the standard rate of return to cost, to calculate the feasibility of establishing such a project in the desert environment, for the five basins, total area of basin (5) acres. The results were that the investment costs one dinar will yield more than two Dinars internally. So, the field of fish breeding from establishment project in desert area is an excellent feasibility by increasing the meat fish production instead of the economical social and environmental returns achieved by this project.

Abstract

This study was designed to detect the side effects of Aspirin drug on abortion occur of Swiss white mice. They were devided into three groups. the first ,second were orally treated with (0.5) ml of Aspirin of 50 microgram/kg body weight per day. The third group was given (0.5) ml of distilled water as a control group. Continued dosage (30) consecutive days in order to identify the effect of three drug in pregnancy in mice. Treatment led to the occurrence of abortion after the first and seconed week of pregnancy to female mice in the second set, and Aspirin treatment concentration of 50 microgram/ kg compared to the control group. Also noted the lack of pregnancy for mice that have been treatment same concentration of the first and second set before being mated with the normal males compared with females that gave birth control mice natured. From the above results, it could be concluded that the drug Aspirin has a negative effect on pregnancy in Swiss white mice.

Abstract

Managers of marketing deals with the motives of Consumer Purchasing; because motivate consumers to purchase is one the main objectives of the efforts of marketing, but the motives of purchase can not be observed with the naked eye, and it can be inferred behavior resulting only, however, the effort to understand the motives and study the factors affecting on consumer to benefit in the interpretation of patterns of purchasing behavior of individuals, families and shed light on the origins, evolution and recurrence. This reconnaissance study represents a contribution to a deeper understanding about the impact of various factors on consumer purchasing behaviour of the Iraqi in the current circumstances. Where the research analyzed the relationship between independent variables such as social factors, personal, psychological, and marketing mix and consumer behaviour as dependent variable in the market for electrical appliances in the city of Basra. These results are useful for producers and retailers so that they can understand the needs of Iraqi consumers and thus enable them to satisfy the consumer a better way.

Abstract

The present study has been used three analytical methods, one of them was suggested by this work to determine the total organic materials in hand dishwashing liquids by using UV specrophotometric at 250 nm and using ammonium oxalate as a reference material. In this research dry weight percentage of dishwashing liquids, the charge types of organic material, and the values of the pH of 12 samples of dishwashing liquids from local market have been determined. The pH values of dishwashing liquids have shown 6.2 and 8.97 values. Although, the Iraqi specification specified the value of active organic material not to be lower than 20% the results have shown a disparity of values fixed on the bottles. Values were recorded 20% for five samples, whereas for other three the value was between 5% and 15%, two samples gave values between 15% and 30%, two other samples were specified by 14% only. The study shown that weight the percentages of total organic materials in hand dishwashing liquids gave high values, especially in seven samples (17.6% and 72%) whereas in other samples dropped to 9%.

Abstract

Mreasons and factors that had been found the uprising and circulating the random regions Like comes from so many social, economical and planning factors which caused this uprising phenomena that effect on suspending developing processes of the city dweller. This phenomena is found differ from one city to other depending on their spreading. Iraq one of the development countries that the uprising and circulating the random regions were found always spreading, immigration was also found play a role in this matter. The problem elucidated above should be faced with qualified attempts to stop it and put solutions in this matter. There is a common agreement between the specialist in development of urban areas that circulating of random regions is not right, so this study was finalized to a number of conclusion and recommendations that could possibly give solutions and terminate this problem in future.

Abstract

This study was designed to investigate the effect of room temperature variations on ELISA results. Sixty serum samples were collected from healthy and patients persons, distributed as three groups; 1st. group included 27 samples for thyroids hormones, 2nd.group included 23 samples for some fertility hormones and the 3rd. group included 10 samples for ferritin. The concentration of each hormone was estimated at 25 °C and compared twice; once with the standards of the corresponding hormone were measured at 21 °C; and the other with the standards of the corresponding hormone were measured at 25 °C. The results showed that there were variations in the concentrations of each hormone at the two different temperatures. Regarding thyroids and fertility hormones, the optical density of the standards concentrations at 25 °C were higher than these at 21 °C, while in ferritin test, the optical density of the standards concentrations at 25 °C were lower than these at 21 °C. It could be concluded that the variation in room temperature play a role in estimation of the exact concentrations of hormones in stability of other influencing factors.

Abstract

The ability of the bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa that isolated from cultivated soil to degrade some pesticides like malathion, cypermethrin and carbofuran was studied by investigate the growth kinetics of bacteria in pesticides enriched media at different concentrations. It was found that P. aeruginosa was more resistant to malathion than other pesticides. Growth curves of bacteria showed it ablility to grow in mineral salts medium contain malathion 0.1- 1%, cypermethrin 0.1- 0.5% and carbofuran pesticide 0. 1- 0.7%. The optimum concentration which support normal bacterial growth during 24 h was found to be 0.7% malathion, 0.3% cypermethrin and 0.5% carbofuran. When compared with the control test, a significant increased in bacterial population was noted at low concentration of each pesticide. The lowest generation time of P. aeruginosa was 75 min. when they grown in mineral salts medium which containing malathion at concentration 0.5%. The results showed that the local isolate P. aeruginosa had the ability to degrade the malathion even at high concentration, and we concluded that bacterium can be used as a microorganism for the bioremediation of pesticides contaminated soil and water.
