The losses problem of wheat crop is considered as one of the important economical problems in Iraq. In order to estimate and analyze losses percentages and values during the mechanical harvest, a field study was carried out during the agricultural season 2010-2011 to calculate the quantitative loss of wheat crop using New Holland Tc56 Hydro harvester under the conditions of irrigated agriculture in Al-Najme region, Al-Muthana governorate. The experiment included the study of three factors; the first is harvester's ground speed with three levels i.e. 3, 4 and 4.5 Km/hr.; the second is the moisture percentages of grains at harvest with two levels i.e. 13 and 18%; the third is crops cutting height with two levels of 10 and 30 cm. The experiment was conducted according to RCBD design with three replicates. The study results showed that the harvesting ground speed of 3 Km/hr. was significantly superior with lowest losses in grains of 5.63%. However, moisture content of grains (13 and 18%) had no significant effect on grain's quantitative losses. From the other hand, crops cutting height affected significantly grain's quantitative losses where 30 cm cutting height gave the least losses of 6.75%. It was indicated that loss percentages in cutting units were higher than other harvester's units for all the studied speeds. Through the interaction of the three factors, it was revealed that the first speed of harvester 3 Km/hr with moisture percentage of grains 13% using cutting height of 30 cm above soil surface was significantly superior in achieving the lowest grain losses 4.88%, therefore the highest efficiency of the harvester 96.82%.
