حول المجلة

تأسست مجلة العلوم الزراعية العراقية في كلية الزراعة جامعة بغداد عام 1966. كانت المجلة تصدر بعددين في العام فقط. بدأت المجلة عام 2000 باصدار ستة اعداد في السنة لكل مجلد, وهي الان في عام 2016 بالمجلد (47). تشمل ابحاث المجلة كافة العلوم الزراعية المرتبطة بالعلوم النباتية والحيوانية فضلاً عن المكننة الزراعية والاقتصاد الزراعي والارشاد الزراعي والعلوم الداعمة للعلوم الزراعية مثل الكيمياء والفيزياء لاسيما المرتبطة بالضوء والالحرارة والرياح وغيرها. يتضمن المجلد الواحد حالياً اكثر من 75 بحثأ حيث يتضمن العدد الواحد بين 20-25 بحثاً بحسب عدد الابحاث المقبولة في كل عدد

Field experiments were conducted over three growing seasons, during 2009-2012, at the experimental farm of Field Crop Sciences - College of Agriculture - University of Baghdad. This study aimed to application pure line selection in fifteen F4 segregating populations of bread wheat produced from half diallel crossing among 6 parents.The selection was applied in the first season by using 10% selection intensity, further screening was conducted and selected 12 plants from each population .The grains of individual selected plants were planted in the following year in plant to row method and the best 15 progeny lines were selected depending on yield performance. Varietal trail was conducted in the third season as RCBD with four replications using a split plot arrangement, where three seed rates (120, 160, and 200 kg.ha-1) randomized in the main plots and 21 genotypes in the sub-plots. The genotypes included fifteen F6 progeny lines plus six parents: Al-fatah, A3103, M.2, IPA99, A4.10, and Abu-Ghraib3. The results showed significant differences among genotypes, seeding rates and interaction between them for all the traits. It was revealed the superiority of progeny lines S123, S102, S52, S130, S148 and S83 over the best cultivars, they yielded 6.64, 6.41, 6.34, 6.16, 6.11 and 6.11t.ha-1 respectively.The progeny S123 superior significantly to other best progenies in grain yield and biological yield. The highest harvest index produced from using 160 kg.ha-1 seeding rate. Response of grain yield to seeding rates was quadratic relation. Highly significant differences were found among the genotypes under the three seed rates for all traits, indicating relatively high magnitude of genetic variability in these genotypes.

Also, the seeding rate 120 kg.ha-1 produced higher flag leaf area 25.98. Plants of the pure line S130 had highest spad reading for chlorophyll content. Plants of the pure line S94 produced maximum plant height 103.9 cm. While, the plants of the pure line S83 take highest number of days from planting to physiological maturity. significant differences were found among the genotypes under the three seeding rates for some traits, indicating relatively high magnitude of genetic variability in these genotypes.

To identify efficiency targeted application of this program tow genotypes from popcorn local variety Al- SAFA and Argentina variety AGR-5, Reciprocal Recurring selection (RRS) and S2- progeny to raise the efficiency of performance of plant populations. Using local variety popcorn Safa and Argentina variety AGR- 5. The reciprocal recurrent selection was applied for four consecutive season on farm of the Dept.of Crops Sci./Collegof Agric./Univ.of Baghdad. In the spring season 2013 was obtained 100 top crosses from each variety and 100 progeny represent S1. In full season 2013 the top crosses compared in partial lattice design 10 x 10 in two replication. At the end of the season the top crosses were harvested and a self pollination on S1plants to production S2. The total number population 12. six represent first cycle frome RRS and another six represent S2- progeny. In the spring season 2014 was mixing 300 seed from S1 genotyp and S2 – progeny. In spring 2014 conducted a random hybridization for the best 30 plant for each population. In full 2014 experiment was carried out to compared 12 genorypes in addition origin varieties in factorial experiment using RCBD design with four replication in three plant density. Studied row number and number of kernel per row and number of kernel per plant and yield plant gm. The result exhibit significant deference's for all traits . Genotype 2 revealed highest row number(15.81) and kernel per pant(781.55) and yield plant gm(135.73) .The genotype 9 exhibit highest row (16.43) and number kernel per row (41.65). The genotypes 5&10&12 revealed highest expansion popping (1077,1025,1021ml gm-1).broad sense heritability was high for row number, kernel per row and yield plant (60.11%,79.18% 52.79%) respectively and high genetic advance. This traits under additive gene and possible improve this traits through selection. The traits number kernel per pant and expansion popping low heritability 45.44%and 26.91% coupled with low genetic advance. This traits under Non- additive gen and possible to improve these traits through hybridization flowed by selection
