Study of the optical properties of ZnO thin films Undoped and Sn-doped with doping percentage of (1%,3%,5%,7%) have been prepared on glass substrate at(450ºC) using chemical spray pyrolysis method , from during absorption and transmission spectra has been recorded in the wavelength range(380-900)nm,we have calculated energy gap in the allowed direct electron transition, it was found that the energy gap increased as the doping percentage increased, on contrary with urbach energy which decrease as the doping percentage increase,and calculated optical constant (Absorption, Transmission, reflectance, extinction coefficieent ,refractive index and dielectric constant in its two parts, Optical conductivity),The results shown that all these parameters in this research were affected by doping.

The study included preparation of five concentrations of the fungus Beauveria bussiana L. 105 , 5105 , 106 , 5106, 107 Conidia / ml the Nutrient medium which contained wheat, maize and rice. And three replicates for each concentration, each repeated 20 complete insect Full been monitored over a thirty-five days, the results showed that the percentage of the dead of insects during the period of the experiment are 44.33% , 54% , 62.67%, 72% and 81.66% for concentrations of 105, 5105, 106, 5106 and 107 Conidia / ml) respectively .The percentage of the death during the first week of 4% while it was100% during the the fifth week. Silica gel was tested as a protective substance for seed cowpea, wheat and cereal and wheat grouts, also it was mixed with five concentrations 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 and 5% against infection, Also, the effect of silica gel was tested against the rate of killing and their development and the rate of loosing in weight of Nutrient medium after two weeks of treatment. The results showed that silica gel resulted in 100% of killing rate for Oryzaephilus surinamensis L. after 366 hours for all concentrations. The effect of silica gel on the development of the insect was clear, since neither growth nor development were occurred at the concentration of 5%, in addition , the rate of killing reached 100% for complete O. surinamensis L. after two weeks. No loss in the weight of seeds at the highest concentrations 4% , 5% with significant difference comparing with control, So for the previous results, Silica gel could be used as a protective media for seeds at concentration of 5% against of beetles storages.

Thin transparent film of SnO2:3%Cu have been prepared on aborosilicate glass by using chemical spray pyrolysis technique. Absorptance and transmittance spectra have been recorded in the wavelength range (300-900) nm, in order to study the optical constants as Reflectance(R), refractive index (no) ,extinction coefficient(ko) ,real and imaginary parts of the dielectric constant and optical conductivity(σ) . The forbidden energy gap for both direct transitions have been calculated it was found that the energy gap decrease as the film thickness increased, on contrary with Urbach energy which increase as the film thickness increase

In this research zirconium oxide samples have been prepared using microwave sintering and conventional sintering furnaces, and the effect of nano powder of zirconium oxide addition on micro-scale powder have been studied with respect to the structural and mechanical properties of the samples. The results showed that the prepared microwave samples have a fine structure with smaller grains and more uniformity, but the density of the samples are slightly higher for samples prepared in the traditional way, while the addition of the Nano-scale powder leads to obtain samples with higher density because of the low porosity. It also added the nanoparticles led to a marked improvement in the micro hardness of the samples. The results confirm that the addition of limited ratios of nanoparticles to micro-scale-powders of the same substance will lead to improvement in the microstructure and some mechanical properties that have been studied in this research.

We have studied the effect of annealing at (550,600) °C on absorption coefficient , optical transmission, Reflectance, optical conductivity and optical energy gap for (SnO2) 1-x (CO) x with (x=0.01) deposited on preheated glass substrates at a temperature of (500 °C) by chemical pyrolysis technique were performed . These films show direct allowed inter band transition that influenced by annealing at (550,600) °C for two hours . From the analysis of the absorption and transmission spectra in the wavelength range (350-900nm). The results show that all these parameters were affected by annealing.

Thin films of (SnO2) by suitable thickness (4100 Å) have been prepared on a borosilicate glass at a temperature of (500 oC) using chemical spray pyrolysis technique and annealing at (550,600,650 oC) for two hours. The optical properties of the thin films of the prepared samples are calculated using the transmission and absorption spectra in the wavelength range of (320-900)nm , were found that the absorbance decreases while the transmittance increases after annealing. The optical properties are calculated: absorption coefficient decreases after annealing, energy gap increases after annealing. Refractive index, extinction coefficient, real part of dielectric constant, imaginary part of dielectric constant and photoconductivity decreases after annealing.

This study was carried out in the agricultural technical college of Halabja during the growing season (2010-2011) in the ordinary room condition. Pomegranate fruits of Salakhani cv. were taken from one of the orchards of Halabja province, As Sulaymaniyah governorate, to investigate the effect of container type and temperature on the storability of pomegranate fruits. At the end of storage period, the results showed that the usage of plastic containers caused increases in the percentages of arils weight, weight loss, %T.S.S. and %T.A. and a significant decrease of damage percentage. While regarding heat treatments, the use of 50˚C caused decreases in the percentages of damage and weight loss in the end of storage period. At the same time, it caused increases in the percentages of skin, T.S.S. and T.A. cardboard packages had a significant on the decrease of weight loss.

Two types of hard tick have been collected and identified belongs tothefamily Ixodidae called :Hayalomma anatolicum anatolicum and Rhipicephalus sanguineus sanguineus, after checking the description of the external features of both types. The tick samples have been collected between the periods from 5/4/2009 till 30/3/2010. Four regions have been chosen randomly for collecting the tick samples in Nineveh:(Goggchali, college ofagriculture and forestry field/animal husbandry department, veterinary medicine hospital area/ Al-hadbaa region and Veterinary medicine hospital area/Bab senjar). The sample were collected from three types of Animals with economic importance, have been selected, which considered as a suitable places for hard tick developing : the cows, sheep, and dogs. The rabbits as (experimental animals) and incubator were used to complete tick life cycle. in both which provides the proper temperature, and relative humidity in all seasons of the year according to the changes which takes place in the external milieu.The aim of the research includes a comparison of the life cycle. The first trial of the life cycle in spring took (67-68) days for Hayalomma anatolicum anatolicum and (88) day for Rhipicephalus sanguineus sanguineus, studying the life cycle during the summer took (58) days for Hayalomma anatolicum anatolicum and (87) days for Rhipicephalus sanguineus sanguineus, whereas during autumn took (71) days for Hayalomma anatolicum anatolicum and (118) days for Rhipicephalus sanguineus sanguineus, whereas the fourth trial of life cycleduring winter took (131) days for Hayalomma anatolicum anatolicum and (143)days for Rhipicephalus sanguineus sanguineus. A comparison was made to check the rates of eggs hatching into larvae, and the rates of the nymph weight for the engorged weight and percentages for the engorged nymph and the rates of the females number, and the percentages of the congested females before and after oviposition of the eggs. Also observed the rates and the range of eggs weight blocks, and the number of the eggs for both types of ticks.During the life cycles studied the optimum temperature and the relative humidity measured for each season which eventually had affected the life cycle of the ticks.

We have detected phenolic compounds in aerial parts (leaves and stems) of plants flowering for the species of the genus Anchusa L. Developing in Iraq, as has been collecting models of five species of genus above, and their natural habitats, where most of them grow in environments mountain, a method is used Thin Layer chromatography (TLC) in the detection of these compounds and using (Standards) to compare the values of the (Rf) and colors, the results showed that the species of genus above has shown significant variations in terms of containing phenolic compounds, which can be counted as evidence supporting an important taxonomic characteristics of the other phenotypic and anatomical characteristics, environmental and pollen. According avaliability of information, this study is the first of its kind as it became clear that there is no prior study addressed the detection of phenolic compounds and use that comes to the species of diagnostic genus placed research.

This study included isolation of some active materials from seed of Cresson such as Saponins and volatile oils with percentage of 23.1% and 21.9% respectively. Also the study included the determination of minerals in Cresson such as " Na, Ca and K" using Flame photometer. The concentrations of these minerals were (220 ppm),(7 ppm) and )258 ppm) respectively. The anti-bacterial activity study was performed for the active materials isolated from Cresson against two genus of pathogenic bacteria, Escherichia Coli and Staphylococcus aurous by using agar-well diffusion method. It appeared from this study that all of the extraction have inhibitory effect on bacteria was used. The inhibition zone diameter varies with the type of active compound, its concentration and the genus of bacteria. Has been the use of one type of cell lines of cancer to study the impact of Cresson on the growth of cells in the laboratory and thus know the specifications of CAS anti tumor line cells, the user is (L20B) the cells of a mouse mutant (Mice Transformed cell Line).

The study Investigates about the tolerance of 14 isolates of V .cholerae (includes 7 serotype 01 and 7 serotype NON 01) to different concentrations of some heavy metals such as: Hg ,Cu ,Cd ,Zn ,Co and Pb. The isolates were from different aquatic environment and fish gut in diala governorate from May to Augustus 2004. Concentration of 0.2, 2.4, 1.2, 1.4, 0.9 and 2.4 mol of mercury, cooper, cadmium, zinc, cobalt, lead respectively, inhibited the growth of V. cholerae , regardless the serotype or source of isolation.

ABSTRACT In this research prepared Dithine complex have been prepared from dithiol benzil ligand and central ion to the Ni element the ligand and complex have been investigated using FTIR spectrophotometer and UV-VIS-NIR spectral reigns show higher intensity represents the π-π* transition in the chromopher cycle .These absorption which appear in visible and near IR spectral regions , PMMA doping by this complex to prepared foils ,these foil has been implemented in Nd+2:YAG laser cavity because each posses resonant absorption band near Nd+2:YAG, Nd+2:Glass emitting at (1060nm). pulse duration measured to foil of PMMA and complex dissolved in chloroform at (10-3M) is very short compared with free running Pulse duration ,therefore the complex work as Q-switch to the NIR lasers.

Transition strengths [M(E2;2+→0+)]2 W.U. produced by pure electric quadrupole emission in even even isotopes of Sr and Zr liave been calculated and plotted as a fonction for neutron number (N)by using life times of 21+ excited states and the γ0-. intensities . Similar [M(E2)] w.u curves with stable valley ranging between neutron number 48 to 58 have been obtained for Sr and Zr with proton sub-shell closed at38,40 respectively. For sake for comparison Transition strengths [M(E2;2+→0+)]2w.u↓ are converted to reduced transition probabilities B(E2;) e2b2↑for 3sSr ,40Zr nuclides to comparison with other results .

This study was conducted to find out the active compounds in three kinds of crude extract of sage leaves, which are cold water, hot water and alcoholic extracts in addition to determine minerals concentrations in these three extracts as well as the percentage of the essential components. The inhibitory effects of three concentrations :( 5%, 10% and 15%) for each extract against three plants pathogenic fungi were tested in vitro. The results showed that all extracts under study have the ability to inhibit the growth of Fusarium solani. Hot water extract at concentration 15% was the most inhibited for this fungus, while alcoholic extract with 5% was the most inhibited for Rhizoctonia solani. The growth of Alternaria alternate showed low affecte against all concentration of the three extracts.

In this project, the analyses for the dataset of the Optimum Traffic Radio Frequency parameter (FOT) have been made which lies within the range of HF-band (3-30 MHz). The values of the FOT parameter have been calculated using the (VOACAP) international modern communication model. In this analytical study, Iraq has been selected to be the region of study. So, the capital "Baghdad" has been chosen to represent as transmitti.ng station while other thirty different locations distributed over Iraqi zone were represented as receiving stations. In this research, the influence of the time and orientation factors on the FOT parameter have been studied for the maximum and minimum solar cycle years 200. and 2009. The results of the influence of the time factor showed a slit variation on the values of the FOT parameter, also the impart of the orientation factor was clear especially during summer time.

Silver is powerful natural antibiotic noble metal has been used for thousands of years with no harmful side effect since have being observed , Today colloidal silver is rapidly gaining favor in the medical community and water treatment reflecting a kind of revival in the public health community sector. In this research three technique and the most efficient one was the arc discharge technique ,we design colloidal silver (CS) generator using two rods of silver connectedly to pulsed DC high power supply to get arc discharge caused evaporate silver rods which immersed in water. Later, we made improvement on this design by using DC . Power supply with high purity silver. Rods arranged in certain arrangement then we get many silver water samples according to different parameters. In order to determined physical properties of (CS) solutions, AFM. UV. Visible spectrometry, AAS, and electrical conductivity were applied to each samples. The results show (CS) generator(method B) is effective tool to get narrow range nano- colloidal silver water suspension with size distribution (40 - 560) nm , color of each solution is characterized to particle size silver particle - ionic solution . The electrical conductivity of sample depended on the ionic - particle silver concentrations (10-32) p .p. m

The effect of Iodine (I) doped on some optical properties and Urbach energy of chromium oxide ( Cr2O3) films is studied . The optical transmission (T %) in the wavelength range (350-850) nm was measured, The oscillator energy Eo and dispersion energy Ed have been determined by Wemple DiDomenico single oscillator model. Parameters like absorption coefficient, and skin depth are investigated. The results shown that all these parameters were affected by doping .

In the present work, we have studied the effect of CuO2 dopant on the optical properties of (Polystyrene) (PS) polymer. The CuO doped PS films were prepared using solvent casting method, optical energy band gap Eg was estimated by using UV-VI-NIR spectra and it was classified as an indirect allowed transition. In general Eg was found to decrease with the increasing of dopant concentration. The refractive indices of the samples were measured and it was found to increase with the increasing of dopant concentration. Optical transmittance, reflectance and extinction coefficient were also investigated and correlated with the action of doping process.

Structural, optical and electrical properties of hydrogenated nanocrystalline silicon (nc-Si:H) films, deposited from silane (SiH4) and helium (He) gas mixture without hydrogen by hot wire chemical vapor deposition (HW-CVD) method were investigated as a function of helium dilution of silane (RHe). We observed that the deposition rate is much higher (4-33 Å/s) compared to conventional plasma enhanced chemical vapour deposited (PE-CVD) nc-Si:H films. Raman spectroscopy revealed that the crystalline volume fraction decreases with increasing He dilution of silane whereas the crystallite size remains almost constant (~ 2 nm) for the entire range of He dilution of silane studied. Furthermore, an increase in the structural disorder in the nc-Si:H films has been observed with increasing He dilution of silane. The hydrogen content was ~ 9 at. % for the film deposited at 60 % RHe and decreases rapidly as RHe increases further. The photoresponse decreases by order of 1 with increasing helium dilution of silane from 60 to 97 %. It has been concluded that adding helium gas to the silane induces the structural disorders in the hydrogenated nanocrystalline silicon (nc-Si:H) thin films prepared by HW-CVD method.

Beam expander plays a key role in laser devices for remote detection for transmission unit. The study is conducted for Nd: YAG laser, λ =1064 nm and its harmonics, namely the second harmonic generation, λ = 532 nm, the third harmonic generation, λ = 355 nm, and the fourth harmonic generation, λ = 266 nm. Determination of expansion ratio of beam expander for specific wavelength and detection range is the key in beam expander optical design for determining minimum possible laser spot size at the target. Knowing optimum expansion ratio implies to reduce laser transmitting unit dimensions and increase performance efficiency of receiving unit.

Synthesis and Magnetic Properties of the Ceramic Nano Ferrite MnFe2-xSmxO4

Ceramic nano-ferrite series of the formula MnFe2-xSmxO4 (x=0, 0.5, and 0.1) is prepared, using solution combustion process. XRD-analysis showed poorly resolved patterns of as-burnt powders which are progressively mended by progressive raising of heat treatment temperature. TEM particle-size analysis indicated that the dimensions of the as-burnt powder is of the nano-order. Moreover, thermal analysis of these powders exhibited a continuous decline in the TG-curve in the temperature range of up to 1000C. On the other hand no explicit reaction was detectable in the behavior of the DTA-curve of the as-burnt ferrite powder for the same range. Room temperature magnetization measurements of green compacted or sintered powders of various compositions, confirmed the superparamagnetic nature of the nano-ferrites. However, modifications are observed in hysteresis loops when various ferrite powders are subjected to the above mentioned heat tretment skeems. This may be attributed to variations in atomic order (inversion of the spinel structure), also the partial replacement of Fe-ions by rare earth Sm-ions may induce local strains, impurities, or lattice defects which may also cause such modifications .On the other hand, values of magnetic parameters like permeability and remanent magnetization are explicitly altered upon Fe-ion replacement or heat treatments.

In this study wet etching was used to etch Si-wafers by KOH solution at different concentrations .The results showed that decreasing of the etching rate at higher KOH concentration produces smooth surface. On the other hand ,it has been observed that the etching rate increases by using CF3Br plasma and lower KOH concentrations producing rough surface.

Influence of dopant concentration on Dispersion Parameters of ZnO:Sn Thin Films

Undoped and Sn doped ZnO films have been deposited by spray pyrolysis technique. The films were deposited onto glass substrate at a temperature of 450°C. The effect of tin incorporation on optical properties and dispersion parameters of ZnO films has been investigated. Optical absorption measurements were also studied by UV-VIS technique in the wavelength range 300-900 nm. The optical band gap of these films was determined. The absorption edge shifted to the lower energy depending on the dopant materials. The changes in dispersion parameters and Urbach tails were investigated as a function of Sn content. The optical energy gap decreased and the wide band tails increased in width from 442 to 546 meV as the doping concentration increased from 0wt.% to 4wt.%. The single-oscillator parametere were detennined.

In this study intermediate elements 59Co , 59Ni for S9Co(p,n) 59Ni reaction with proton energy from ( 2.2) MeV to ( 4.8 ) MeV with threshold energy (1.886709) MeV are used according to the available data of reaction cross sections. The more recent cross sections data of 59Co(p,n) 59Ni reaction is reproduced in fine steps and by using (Matlab-7.6) program and get the equation from 2-degree for plotted. We deduced that the high probability to produced 59Ni by bombard 59Co by proton. These cross sections together with the stopping powers calculated from the Zeigler formula have been used to calculate the n-yield for reaction.

New method to prepare 4,4-Azodibenzoic acid with the ligand was identified by FT-IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic technique. Treatment of the ligand with the following metal ions (Cu+2, Zn+2, Cd4 Hg+2)in aqueous ethanol with a 2:1 metal:ligand. The prepared complexes were characterized using flame atomic absorption, FT-IR and UV-Vis spectroscopic methods as well as magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements.

The amino acid homocysteine is an intermediate in metabolic pathways between the common amino acids methionine and cysteine. The vitamins folate ,and B12 ,and to a lesser extent B6, are needed for its proper functioning .Thus ,low availability of folate ,Bl2,or B 6 can block the path way and lead to a buildup of homocysteine. This study was conducted to determine the levels of homocysteine, lipid peroxidation and vitamins in smokers and non- smokers subjects which they come to the blood bank in orders to eliminates the surplus blood ( secondary polycythemia ). The study population consisted of 40 male patients divided in to two groups; 30 smokers and age matched non- smokers 10 subjects. The mean systolic and diastolic blood pressure values and haematocrit were found to be non-significant . Haemoglobin blood values was found to be significantly(p<0.05) higher for smokers than for non- smokers .Serum Vitamin A Significant decrease(p<0.05)in smokers subjects . Vitamins B12, vitamin E and folate found significantly decrease (p<0.1) in smokers as compared to non-smokers. No significant values in B-carotin vitamin B6 and vitamin C in serum between smokers and non- smokers subjects. There was a significant value(p<0.05) of lipid peroxidation in non smokers than smokers subjects. Serum levels of homocysteine in normal value in both groups .

Toxoplasma gondii (T. gondii) is a major cause of chronic parasitic infection in the world. Primary infection with T. gondii stimulates production of high levels of interleukine -12 (IL-12) and interferon (IFN- γ) by cells of innate immune system, The aim of the study to determine the levels of IL-12 in sera of women with serologically confirmed toxoplasmosis. The results revealed a statistically significant increase in IL-12 levels (p<0.05) in women infected with T. gondii as compared to control group in Diyala province. Women with T. gondii infection exhibit high levels of IL-12.

Alkaloids extraction from Convolvulus Scammonia inhibited CHO cell line (china hamster) proliferation by inducing a sustained mitotic block at the metaphase/ anaphase boundary. Half-maximal inhibition of cell proliferation occurred at 8 nM alkaloids, and mitosis was half-maximally block 8 nM alkaloids. Inhibition of mitosis was associated with formation of an incomplete metaphase plate of chromosomes and an altered arrangement of spindle microtubules that strongly resembled the abnormal organization that occurs with low concentrations of vinblastine and other antimitotic compounds. No increase in microtubule polymer mass occurred below 10 nM alkaloids. The results indicate that alkaloids shares a common antiproliferative mechanism with vinblastine. At its lowest effective concentrations, alkaloids appears to block mitosis by kinetically stabilizing spindle microtubules and not by changing the mass of polymerized microtubule

The aim of this work is synthesis and characterization of the tridentate Schiff base ligand (HL) containing (N and O) as donor atoms type (ONO. (HL) phenyl 2-(2- hydroxybenzylidenamino)benzoate This ligand was prepared by the reaction of (phenyl- 2-aminobenzoate) with salicylaldehyde under reflux in ethanol and few drops of glacial acetic acid which gave the ligand (HL). The prepared ligand was characterized by (FT IR,UV-Vis) spectroscopy. Elemental analysis of carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen (C.H.N.) and melting point. The ligand was reacted with some metal ions under reflux in ethanol with (1 metal :2 ligand )mole ratio which gave complexes of the general formula: [M(L)2] , M = MnII,FeII ,CoII,NiII,CuII, ZnII , PdII,CdII,HgII The Products were found to be solid crystalline complexes, which have been characterized through the following techniques: Molar conductivity .Spectroscopic method [FTIR and UV-Vis], additional measurement magnetic susceptibility, Chlorid content and Program [Chem office-CS. Chem.-3D pro 2006)was used. Our research also includes studying the bio-activity of the some compounds prepared against a kind of bacteria three of which were negative to gram dye (Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumonia, Escherichia coli), and one was positive to gram dye (Staphylococcus aureus). Some of the compound showed inhibitive activity against some of bacteria under consideration. The magnetic moment coupled with the electronic spectra suggested an octahedral geometry for all the complexes.
