Producing Bone China with local and manufactured materials as substitutes for the traditional materials

Abstract

This research studies the possibility of producing Bone China with available local and geological substitutes and other manufactured ones since it’s traditionally produced by Bone ash, Cornish stone, and China clay, while the substitutes are Kaolin instead of China clay and Feldspar potash instead of Cornish stone. Because of the unavailability of Feldspar in Iraq, it was substituted with the manufactured alternative Feldspar. Bone ash was prepared from cow bones with heating treatments, grinding and sifting. The alternative Feldspar was prepared by chemical analysis of the natural Feldspar potash with local materials that include Dwaikhla Kaolin, Urdhuma Silica sand, Potassium Carbonate, and Sodium Carbonate. The mixture was burned at (1250c○) before it was grinded. The mixture’s materials were sifted at (63µm). The samples were formed with slip casting by gypsum mold with a cut cone shape at (2×3×6 cm) to build a thickness of (3mm). The study materials consisted of two groups: Group 1 (BC.K.F) including Bone ash, Dwaikhla Kaolin, and the natural Feldspar, while Group 2 (BC.K.FR) had Bone ash, Dwaikhla Kaolin, and the manufactured alternative Feldspar. Every group included 8 recipes with the same percentages. The two groups were burned at (1220-1260c○), then tests were conducted: Chemical analyses, the outer appearance and color then the laboratory tests: the outer appearance, linear shrinkage, apparent porosity, water absorption, bulk density, hardness, scratching resistance, mineral analysis (XRD), color analyses, optical transmittance. After discussing and analyzing the results, it was concluded that the traditional materials substitutes gave matching and correspondent properties and specification of Bone China ceramic

Abstract

Find cares studying the aesthetics of environmental art, one of the topics that is one of the problems of the aesthetic side in the arts of postmodernism, so this research came as an attempt to get to know the aesthetic concepts of environmental art that can be learned from functional testing in the formation of the post-modern control. Abstract

The research current ( features tendency cosmic in contemporary Iraqi configuration) attempt to study the dimensions of the conceptual and philosophical foundations upon which the tendency of cosmic within the period that extended its influence beyond the place where I grew up to be circulated concepts in all parts of the world, it is no doubt that the world is now heading to rapprochement after the tremendous developments in the field of communication technology and reflected heavily on identity concepts, privacy, the concept of nation-states ... etc. to become an individual and a large area of access to other cultures, and all that aroused the interest of contemporary Iraqi artist this interest arising from the desire to keep up with developments in the world of developments at the level of ideas or at the level of their practical applications in the field of art. So promising researchers studied four chapters, the first chapter of it concerned with the methodological framework for the search represented research problem which is determined by answering the following two questions: - What are the features of the universal tendency that emerged in the products of contemporary art!? - Is it possible to identify those features and levels of formal and technical Alamadaminah artists Fine Iraqis across Mndzhm Fine!? Abstract

The sculpture composing of iron materials is being considered most important raw material that has been used by the modern artist ,especially period of post –modernism. The works of the two artists ( SALIH AL-QARAGHULI and AHMED AL-BAHRANI) the most important works that entailed to be studied for being using iron material in most of their sculpturing works; in works of Al-Quraghuli, we find ores composing of iron wires , animals threads and remaining of trash and to be assembled in a sculptured text with unique style in Arab Home. Moreover, we find huge works of (al-Bahrani) represented into formations characterized with its ironic flexibility, its abstracted engineering forms. Al-Bahrani solely has used iron plates represented in its sole structure. The subject of research aims at knowing the method of bringing out ore of sculpture and how to embody it as consisting of iron material ; besides , the benefit of the research for blocking the gap in arts of plastics , especially in field of sculpture , since there has not been former study in this respect. The first approach consists of iron ore in the Modern European sculpture and how to functionalize it in the sculpture ; besides , the sources from which has been emerged. Quoting set of arts works giving obvious indications about how to use this material in sculpture field. The second approach depicts artistic trends in the sculptures each of ( Salah and Ahmed) who are the bases of the mater –subject of the research.. This research summarizes initials and sources that both being affected , in addition to their influence in the most modern works and post- modern works by reciting some European works that embody the iron material besides expressing its influence in European works. Then , the artistic influences by mentioning some of his collective works , especially the iron , after then, the research focuses on initials ( Ahmed Al-Bahrani) and his solely artistic distinguishing style In Arab Home. Thus, the research (third chapter) sheds light on procedures in its accurate picture, then it sets off to analyses the symbols chosen on purpose. The researcher has believed that this aspect will achieve the purposes by choosing two samples for each one, by depending on indication that resulted into samples analysis. Then , the fourth chapter aims at accomplishing results concentrated around the samples , then conclusions that have been concluded from the study, then recommendations an suggestions since being regarded as an important one in the research

Abstract

The Department of the researcher in this study, five chapters on the topic. Came the first chapter entitled systematic framework and included a research problem represented by the following question: What are the modalities used in character building in a virtual mock imagined by director James Cameron in the film (Avatar) model? The first chapter also included the importance of research and goals of the disclosure of modes that are built by default in the Personal Image imagined by director James Cameron in the film (Avatar). The second chapter has included a theoretical framework; the theoretical framework has been divided into three sections. First section: personal and personal default, were interested in studying personal drama and personal drama default, construction and do, and orientations and motivations. The history of the arts is closely connected with the history of humankind, since it is impossible to separate our scientific and artistic advances’. Therefore, the current research focuses on the close bond between art and other disciplines. The connection of the arts to the sciences is unequivocal and undisputed; the contributions of artists to the various scientific domains are clear. If one scrutinises the ability of artists to participate in building societies, one will find that the arts have penetrated deeply into a range of products and inventions, starting with the pencil and ending with the missile. The artist’s contributions play a part in the minutest of details across all fields of industry: production, craftsmanship, medicine, tourism, education, architecture and media entertainment, to name just a few. This research sheds light on the interrelationship that exists between the domains of arts and art therapy by using the analysis-description method. The results have shown an integration of art into other domains and a strong connection between what is presented in the domain of art and the needs of art therapy. The research has concluded that it is necessary to extend the practice of arts beyond the realms of art colleges and public education where the practice of arts should be expanded into (including hospitals, youth centers, student activity centers and prisons), for arts have a role to play in meeting today’s challenges

Abstract

The culture of theatre performance has a vital role in the process of reading the linguistic and visual signs of the performance. And the process of transforming a theatre performance from its original context into a new hosting cultural context starts from the actual reading of the text. Directors derives their new signs out of his personal culture, depending on the society where they lives and the culture that forms the social conventions, traditions and beliefs. The text is usually written within its own historical and temporal culture. The process of its production usually takes it away from its original culture, when it interprets the codes of the original writer and their visual and linguistic signs and instils new alternative signs that belong to the new culture. All the other signs of a theatrical performance such as, lights, décor, costumes, music, actors and make up submit to the say process of moving away from their original identity, and when these signs move away from one cultural context into another different one, they lose the element of being genuine and earn new significances driven from the new hosting context. Methodology: includes the problem of the project, its importance and aim. Theoretical frame: the paper includes two: first is the concept of the semiology of culture, and second is the variable of signs in a theatre discourse. The procedures of the paper includes the methodology, the society of the research, the sample, the means, and finally there is the sample analysis that is represented by the play: In the Heights of Love by Falah Shaker, After that the researcher shows the results of the paper, the most important of which is that: 'The culture forms a resource and a reference for the signs within a theatre performance, since the theatre performance focuses on the cultural references for the text, which may form an obstacle against the sign change when moving that theatre performance into a new cultural context.' Abstract

Signification with its different aspects constitutes various aesthetic pictures for human and nature creations over different periods of time. It was a focal around which logical thinking loops on the interpretation level of the signification movement according to its structural context expresses its hidden entities with which a human being deals according to two symmetrical levels while interpreting to attain meaning. Sense was the first passing window for the picture of signification which thought deals with. While trying to decode it and because art in general and theatre in particular are considered as the basis of creating signification through its visual and aural elements, so it was necessary to consider one of the elements of creating the visual signification, namely the theatrical scene through which the receiver knows the nature, type, and the events of the show. This is to specify the research line to identify its goals on the level of signification of the theatrical show. To arrive at these points, it was imperative to specify an epistemological path fulfilling this, thus the theoretical framework was composed of three sections. The first section, semiology, deals with its origin and concept. The researcher surveys the origin of signification historically and its rise as a science with its basics and rules through which it identifies the understanding context. This context of understanding matches the line of epistemological research. The second is entitled as the elements of optical modulation in the theatrical show where the researcher draws the map of the signification dimensions of the elements of optical modulation that are used in the architecture of the scene as a ideological and aesthetic unit. The third section is entitled as the ways of designing the scene in the theatrical show. The researcher has discussed the schools of the technical designing of the theatrical scene in the middle of the environment of the show. After presenting the epistemological map for these sections. The researcher has created norms by which he analyzed the research. Thus, the researcher concluded the following results;(1) the theatrical scene has presented symbolic information constituting integrating relationship with the other visual elements system giving it an additional identity in producing meaning which sparks the receivers mind in inducing the various signification dimensions which were established by the theatrical show, (2) the theatrical scene has achieved multi-level interpretative readings which helps producing the signification dimensions that match the show thinking aesthetically and intellectually This finalized the research where the researcher addressed some conclusions for example, (1) the designer adopted the elements of optical modulation to show the signification dimensions for the theatrical scene, (2) the interpretation level of the theatrical scene formations and workings is considered the outstanding feature of identifying the signification dimensions for the events environment in the theatrical show. Finally, the researcher gave his list of references

Abstract

Since his first existence on earth, human had formed a connecting link for a regressive, kinetic and developed relationship that comes from a semi-complicated interaction between natural environment and constructed environment, and this resulted in the survival of human and his existence continuance. Constructed environment enabled human to survive the natural environment inconstancies and enemies as predators, also it helped him to feel safe, comfortable and to practice his everyday life activities...etc. This alternative interaction resulted in creating a civilized legacy for a group of landmarks that tell about the development of this relationship by elemental output that reached us either by documents and manuscripts or as an existed landmark and by analyzing it we can realize the intellectual, cultural, scientific and social dimension of human during that era. The Baghdadi house is considered as one of these landmarks that tells about simplicity as a closed block from the outside and flexible complicated from the inside in a Pluralism gathering not in the number of spaces but in the multi-functionality of each space
