Hematological parameters after oral administrated of Levamisole with its activity on nonspecific immunity and total serum protein in sheep

Abstract

In this study (20) ewes where examined and subdivided into two groups, the 1st group test group (n=10) where treated with Levamisole at dose 2.5 mg/kg while the 2nd group was untreated and considered control group (n=10) blood samples were collected into EDTA – containing tubes. Blood samples from all were continued at the day 0,7,14 and 21. The level of erythrocytes count, PCV, Hb, total leukocyte count, differential leukocytes count (manual standard method), total serum protein, albumin and globulin were measured to evaluate this study. Appropriate statistical methods were used for data analysis, and (P<0.05).was considered as significant. No significant differences were seen for PCV, RBCs, and Hb. Neutrophil level at day 14 and monocyte level at day 21 were significantly higher than in the control group (P<0.05). The results show insignificant increase in the total protein and Globulin and insignificant decrease in the albumin. leavamesole enhance nonspecific immune response due to induce leukocytosis, neutrophilia and monocytosis .

Molecular and Clinical investigation of lumpy skin disease in cattle in AL .Qadissiyia province

Abstract

In the present study describes the clinical, histological, and molecular diagnosis of lumpy skin disease (LSD) which prevalence as Outbreak in AL -Qadissiyia province. Sixteen cases suspected infection with (LSD) in cattle depending on the clinical signes which appear clearly in diferent area in AL -Qadissiyia province. All suspected animals were clinically examined and a tentative diagnosis of LSD was done upon noticing of typical clinical signs . Specimens (skin biopsies) were collected from nodular skin lesions of infected animals for histopathological examination then the PCR assay was performed to confirm the found of disease in the suspected cases . The result of The physical and clinical examination revealed atypical clinical manifestation of (LSD) .histopathological result showed characteristic pathological change. The results of PCR (conventional PCR )technique for detection of specific primer P23 antigen gene (720bp)of( LSD)virus showed 14 out of 16 were positive result from collected samples . In conclusion the lumpy skin disease is wide spread in a AL -Qadissiyia province and the disease have a typical and characteristic clinical ,histopathological features that used in tentative diagnosis .PCR technique was rapid ,sensitive and specific for detection of the (LSD)virus and confirmative diagnosis ofdisease .

Treatment of natural infection in pigeons birds with coccidiosis by using ginger extract in Babylon province

Abstract

Twenty-five sample pigeon faeces were examined to detect the prevalence of natural infection of coccidiosis among these birds. Out of 25 pigeons examined , 21 birds were found infected ( 84%) , 12 infected pigeons were males (85.7% ) and 9 were female (81.8%). Flotation by zinc sulphate was the best method for diagnosis of the parasite oocystes in the faeces of the birds comparison to the direct examination, with significant differences was p> 0.05. The extract of ginger (Zingibar officinale ) exhibited high efficiency in treatment of infected pigeons with coccidiosis, and the highest efficiency 91% was by using 10% of the extract, with significant differences on level p> 0.05 comparison to that of 5% which was 70%.

Evaluation Of Immune Response To Brucella Infection In Sheep

Abstract

Brucellosis in sheep and goats is a zoonotic infection (excluding Brucella ovis) with important effects on both public health and animal health. The disease is widespread in many areas of the world, particularly in some Mediterranean and Middle Eastern countries. Aim of the study: the present study aims to find out the prevalence of brucellosis in sheep in one of the areas of An Najaf El-Ashraf city, and study of the immune response by measuring the levels of and interleukin-10 (IL-10). Methodology: Current study conducted in the Najaf province (Al-Barakyia) during the period between September 2013- March 2014, fulfilled by using Rose Bengal and Enzyme Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) tests for estimation of brucella antibodies. A total number of 48 serum samples were collected from sheep and stored at -20°C. Results: the frequency of positive sera by Rose Bengal test (RBT) was 20% and by ELISA technique was 25%. The level of interleukin 10 (IL-10) was estimated in all surveyed animals, 12 sera samples were showed an elevated IL-10 levels, all were positive with ELISA serological test. Conclusion: the detection of significant concentration of IL-10 among the seropositive cases may be indicated an active infection of brucella with type 2 cytokine production. Recommendations: the evaluation of immune response of vaccinated sheep with brucella REV1 vaccine, depending on the estimation of IFN-γ and IL-10 ratio that will reflect the cytokines induced during vaccination and consequently, the effective or not immune response.

Prevalence of Entamoeba histolytica and Giardia lamblia parasites among patients attending Al-Emam Ali hospital in Al-Mashrooh provice / Babylon

Abstract

Out of 492 patients attending Al-Emam Ali hospital, examined during the peroid from beginning of June/2013 to the end of may/2014, 79 (16.05%) were infected with G. lamblia and 115 (23.37%) were infected with E. histolytica. Highest rate of infection with giardiasis was in July and March (20.93%, 20.51% respectively), while the lower infection was found in December (8.51%). Amoebiasis show high rate of infection in September (41.93%) and low rate of infection in May (14.06%). Prevalence of giardinsis and amoebiasis in rural areas (16.8%, 26.3% respectively) were found higher than urban areas (15.3%, 20.3%), but with out significant differences. Also no significant differences were found between infected males and females patients. The infection of both parasites was found increased with advancing ages of patients. Mixed stages (trophozoites and cysts) was the most apparent in posative cases of amoebiasis, while trophozoites stage was found apparent in posative cases of giardiasis.

A Comparative Study of The Effect of Red Laser Wavelength and Green Laser Wavelength on The Healing of Achilles Tendon Injury In Rabbits

Abstract

This study was designed to compare the effect of laser wavelength treatment on an injured Achilles tendon; between two laser types red laser(650nm-10w) and green laser(532nm-10w). 18 rabbits, male and mature were used in the present study, the animals were divided into three groups, a control group, red laser group and green laser group. Each group was tenoctomized the Achilles tendon, two groups were treated with one joule red laser and one joule green laser for 10 minutes daily for 14 days, laser beam applied vertically on the tendon dorsally, while the control group leaves to conventional recovery. The red laser group was showing significant values at P≤0.05 in most items or parameters while green laser group was showed convergence with a control group except few items at P≤0.05, as well as a red laser group show better healing sonographically while histopathologically , images reveal no different in all groups at microscopic observation. In conclusions: laser therapy mainly depends on wavelength more than density and red laser better than green laser in treatment of Achilles tendon injury.

Resistance to cecal coccidiosis following sonicated oocysts immunization of Eimeri tenella in broilers

Abstract

Seventy five broiler chicks were used to determine the immunization of in ovo inoculation or intramusclular (I/M) injection of sonicated oocyts (SO) antigen against E. tenella manifestation. The chicks were divided in to 3 equal groups compromising of 25 chicks each. The 1st group inoculated in ovo with SO of E. tenella and repeated by I/M injection at 21 days old. The 2nd group injected I/M with SO at day old and repeated at 21 days old, The birds of the 3rd group remains as control. All birds were challenge by 50,000 sporulated oocysts of E. tenella at day 28. No significant (P > 0.05) group difference was detected between the immunized and non-immunized groups for mean, WBC count, H/L ratio, lesion score, mortality and oocysts shedding until E. tenella challenge at day 28. After challenge test the in ovo and I/M immunized groups showed a great protective immunity against E. tenella infection documented by significantly (P < 0.05) reduced mortality, lesion score and decreased fecal oocyst shedding, compared with non-immunized group. It is concluded that in ovo and I/M immuinzation of sonicated oocyst stimulates a remarkable protection in broilers following E. tenella infection comparing with non-immunized groups. There was no significance difference between the two procedures of immunization.

Comparative study of antidiarrheal effect of proposed new formulae from D.innoxia hydroalcoholic leave extract against E.coli O:157 induced diarrhea in goats

Abstract

New proposed formulation of 5% and 7.5% of hydroalcoholic leave extract of D.innoxia were tested as new drug in order to treat induced diarrheal infection by pathogenic E.coliO:157 strain isolate in 16 healthy local goats divided in to equal four groups according to following treatment groups T1 and T2 represented (25 and 37.5 mg/kg D.innoxia),ciprofloxacine (5mg/kg) and DMSO vehicle group 0.5 ml /kg as positive control .Dosing continue orally daily for 14 days after induction of diarrheal infection .The efficacy of different treatment were evaluated according to improvement in clinical symptoms in which the formulation showed dose dependent effect with superiority of higher dose in T2 over ciprofloxacin in reduction body temperature and respiration rate , improvement in body weight gain and dehydration signs with reduction of fecal bacterial count (E.coli ) to nearly normal with completely ceasing diarrhea at the end of treatment . This was due to the presence of multiphytochemical that have not only antibacterial effect but also astringent ,anti-inflammatory ,analgesic ,antispasmodic, narcotic ,antipyretic and antiallergic that help to over come the stress that accompanied diarrheal infection.

Abstract

This study was aimed to show the influence of two bioformulation on wounds healing ,side effect in liver and kidneys in rabbits . The results indicated that no effect on wound healing were observed in bioformulation treated group compared with the controls. There were toxic effects on the liver which was shown on histopathological examination as centrilobular vacuolation, necrosis of hepatocytes around congested central vein, pyogranulomatous lesion around dilated central vein with marked vacuolation of hepatocytes. On kidneys , histopathological results revealed severe hemorrhage in the cortical area between glomeruli and renal tubules, severe atrophy of glomeruli in the cortical area with some congested blood vessels in the renal parenchyma , severe atrophy of glomeruli in the cortical area with some congested blood vessels in the renal parenchyma and some degree of dilation of renal tubules.

Abstract

The study was conducted in order to know the effect of certain factors on in vitro maturation and fertilization of sheep oocytes in vitro during the period from November 2010 to march 2011, 195 oocytes we aspirated from 60 ovaries of adult an prebupertal lamb slaughtered in AL-Falluja slaughter house, and transported to reproductive lab of coll .vet .Med. / AL -Anbar university at Falluja. Aspirated oocytes were graded and incubated at 38.5 co, 5% CO2 with relative humidity 90% for 24 hrs. Capacitated sperm were prepared for IVF. Then incubation of matured oocyte with capacitated sperm (CO2 5%, 38.5co, 90% relative humidity for 24 hrs). The results showed that the right ovary give more oocyte (P<0.05) the left one. The large follicles showed oocyte recovery and in the percent of maturation and IVF as compared (P< 0.05) with the smaller one. The results showed also that .the TCM -199 is the best for IVM and IVF (P<0.05) as compared with DPBS. It was concluded for the study the ability of producing ovine Embryo in vitro, However further study is required.

Comparative study between the effect of stem cells and Metacam® on induced arthritis in dogs

Abstract

Objective of this project was to study the effect of stem cells on the induced arthritis in the dogs as compared with treatment Metacam®. Incomplete fruend's adjuvant was used to induce arthritis. Twenty five dogs aged 12 month were divided into five groups: 1st group (T1) was negative control, while 2nd group (T2) was induced without any treatment (positive control), 3rd group (T3) was induction arthritis and treated with 0.2 mg/kg B.W. of Metacam® intravenously (I/V) injection, 4th group (T4) was induced and treated with 1ml/kg of B.W of suspension of culture media injected (I/V), and 5th group (T5) was treated with stem cells suspension in a dose of 2.5x106 cells / ml / Kg B.W. (I/V) injection. Typical clinical signs of arthritis appeared on all induction groups. The results of Hb and RBCs showed clear reduction in all induction groups as compared with (T1), the WBCs, Erythrocyte sediment rates (ESR) and C- reactive protein (CRP) in (T2) showed clear elevation as compared with (T1), After 15 and 30 days of treatment the RBCs count and HB level showed significant decline in T2, T3 and T4 as compared with T5 and T1, the WBCs ,ESR and CRP significantly elevated in the T2 and T4 as compared with T1. The T3 and T5 showed clear depletion in levels of WBCs, ESR and CRP as compared with T2 after 15 and 30 days of treatment, while the T5 revealed no significant difference as compared with T1 after 30 days of treatment. The histopathological changes in T2 and T4 showed erosion and infiltration of inflammatory cells, T3 showed hypertrophy of synovial lining and mild inflammatory cells in synovium, T5 explained return the bone tissue to normal. In this experiment concluded a successful use of stem cells in treatment of arthritis without side effect as comparison with Metacam®.

Evaluation of using some medical herbs seeds as feed supplementation and their effects on the activity of some enzymes and hormones on male Awassi lambs

Abstract

Twenty four male Awassi lambs aged 3.5-4 months were assigned into four main treatment groups .The 1st treatment was fed on control ration only, while 2nd,3rd and 4th treatments were fed ad libitum on control ration and supplemented with 600 mg/kg.B.W. /day of black cumin or fenugreek or rocket seeds respectively, for four months.The blood samples were collected to measurement the activities of ALT, AST and ALP enzymes and Triiodothyronine,Thyroxin and Testosterone hormones.The Results indicated that activities of ALT and AST enzymes were increased significantly(P≤0.05) in T2 and T3,respectively,while the activity of ALP enzyme was increased significantly(P≤0.05) in T4 as compared to those in T1. The activities of Triiodothyronine and Thyroxin hormones were increased significantly(P≤0.05) in T2 ,T3 and T4, respectively, also the activity of Testosterone hormone was increased significantly(P≤0.05) in T2 and T4 ,respectively, as compared to those in T1.Also the activities of ALT, ALP and Testosterone were increased significantly (P≤0.05), while the activities of Triiodothyronine and Thyroxin was decreased significantly (P≤0.05) as lambs get older. The present study was carried out to determine the effect of supplementation of black cumin or fenugreek or rocket seeds to the rations on the activity of some enzymes and hormones in blood of male Awassi lambs.

Isolation of Pathogenic Escherichia coli O78:K80 Serotype From Broiler Chicks with Spontaneous Pathological Conditions in Basra Province

Abstract

Escherichia coli (E. coli) is responsible for a variety of disease conditions which cause high economic losses in poultry due to high mortalities, decreased food conservation rate and condemnation of whole affected carcass or organs after slaughter. In the present study, 50 out of 70 broiler birds which have been collected from diseased chickens were exhibited lesions of fibrinous perihepatitis, fibrinous pericarditis and/or airsacculitis .Birds with these lesions were subjected for bacteriological examination.. The examination revealed isolation of 23 E. coli isolates with incidence of 46%. Concerning the virulence factors , the Congo red binding activity of these isolates reveled detection of 6 positive isolates with incidence of 26.08%. Serotyping showed that out of 6 Congo red positive strains, only 3 strains were serologically typed and were belonged to the serotype O78:K80. Detection of pathogenic E. coli serotypes was confirmed by PCR technique with specific primers for fimA and fimH genes. All these 3 isolates of the serotype O78:K80 were reacted with these 2 genes. Antibiogram suscebtibility pattern displayed sensitivity of these isolates to Chloramphinicol and Gentamicin and their resistance to Amoxicillin ,Erythromycin and Nalidixic acid.

The effects of cinnamon powder feeding on some blood aspects and performance of broiler chicken

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of cinnamon powder on live weight gain, feed intake and feed conversion ratio, and some blood constituents. Three hundred one day-old broiler chickens (Ross308) were distributed into 15 pens with 20 chickens each, into five equal groups, comprising 3 replicates per treatment. The experimental treatments were fed as follows : a negative control diet without cinnamon T1 , 250 ppm of cinnamon T2 , 500 ppm of cinnamon T3 , 750 ppm of cinnamon T4 , and 1000 ppm of cinnamon T5 , and the feeding were carried out for 49 days. The results showed that chickens fed with cinnamon powder (T2,T3,T4,T5) had significantly higher (p≤0.05) , live body weight gain , feed intake compared with control group (T1), but there were no significant between T1 and all treatments except T5 on feed conversion ratio. Moreover the chickens fed with cinnamon powder had significant (p≤0.05) reducing serum glucose, cholesterol and triglyceride. In conclusion, cinnamon powder could be considered as a potential natural growth promoter for poultry due to the effect on some blood metabolites and broiler performance.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the possible protective effect of preparation which synthesized in Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine adsorbent ((Toxicom)) 5gkg diet against the toxic effects of mixed mycotoxins in growing broiler chickens .Total 75 chicks, one week age, were divided into 5 treated groups, 15 birds for each. The first group (G1) fed a contaminated ration with mycotoxin and supplemented with (Toxicom) 5g/kg of diet and vaccinated with Infectious Bursal Disease (IBD) vaccine at 15 and 22 days of age. The second group (G2) was fed a ration contaminated with mycotoxin and vaccinated with IBD vaccine at 15 and 22 days of age and not supplemented with (Toxicom). The third group (G3) was fed an intact broiler ration and vaccinated with IBD vaccine at 15 and 22 days of age. The fourth group (G4) was only fed a contaminated ration with mycotoxins and not vaccinated. The fifth group (G5) was fed intact broiler ration and not vaccinated as a control group. The diet was naturally contaminated with many mycotoxins and analyzed by ELISA and the level of mycotoxins were as follows : Aflatoxin B1 0.001 mg/kg, Dezoxivalenol 1.24 mg/kg, Zearalenon 0.068 mg/kg, Ochratoxin 0.005 mg/kg, T2 toxin 0.09 mg/kg, Fuminisen B1 0.2 mg/kg. It was concluded that this preparation which synthesized in Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine is protect chicken blood parameters in comparison with the other groups.

Abstract

The diet was naturally contaminated with many mycotoxins and analyzed by ELISA and the level of mycotoxins were as follows : Aflatoxin B1 0.001 mg/kg, Dezoxivalenol 1.24 mg/kg, Zearalenon 0.068 mg/kg, Ochratoxin 0.005 mg/kg, T2 toxin 0.09 mg/kg, Fuminisen B1 0.2 mg/kg. The antibody titers for Infectious Bursal Disease vaccine (IBDv) was conducted by ELISA. It was concluded that this preparation which synthesized in Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine is protect chickens body weight and decrease the effect of mycotoxins in comparison with the other groups and recommended for using as adsorbent in Republic of Belarus.

Histopathological Effect of heavy metal on different organs of fresh water fish tissues from Garmat Ali River adjacent to Al- Najebyia Power Station

Abstract

Common carp fish was caged from Shatt Al-Arab near Al- Najebyia power station to study the effect of pollution with heavy metals on different fish tissue (gills,kidney, liver, muscle, skin, intestine, spleen ,gonads) sample of the water was analyzed by atomic absorption to find the concentration of heavy metal(ppm=mg/litter) which appear highest than permissible levels. The histopathological results of study were inflammatory cells in skin connective tissue , sub-cutaneous adipose tissue partly with fibrosis,muscle with vacuolation.In gills : Adhesion of some secondary lamella associated with inflammatory cells ,congestion, with loss of epithelial lining only capillaries left, sever atrophy only the remenant of secondary lamella left. Small intestine showed proliferation of mucous screating cells.Liver had small bile duct enclosed by minimal fibrosis ,portal vein with some inflammatory cells. Kidney revealed glomerulus with high cellularity & tubular vacuolation, reduce hemopoietic tissue,peritubular odema, tubular degeneration with congested blood vessel.Spleen revealed central arteriol diletation ,haemorrhage in the tissue,deplitation of follicular aggregation and lymphoid tissue,hemorrhagic red pulp,atrophy of follicular white pulp.gonads had different stages of spermatogenesis in testis and different stages of developing ova , ova with vacuoles of secondary germinal layer.

Abstract

Three non pregnant local Friesian dairy cows were at same live weights, fourth production season and during first month of calving, they were divided into three treatments .2nd and 3rd treatments were reared on standard ration supplemented with 75 or 150 g. of ginger roots powder /cow /day ,respectively, while the 1st treatment reared on standard ration only. Cows were fed individually on standard ration during three periods (28 days/period) in 3x3 Latin square design. The results indicated that feed intake, daily quantities of uncorrected, corrected milk yields , fat, protein and lactose ,milk lactose %, red & white blood cell counts, hemoglobin concentration, packed cell volume ,lymphocyte %, total protein and globulin were increased significantly, while the percentages of milk fat and blood glucose were decreased significantly in T2 and T3 s as compared to those in T1.The present study was carried out to determine the effect of supplementation of ginger root on milk production and composition and physiological of blood.

Cerebral ischemia–reperfusion injury is a complex process resulting in cellular damage and death. Ischemia and reperfusion in the brain induces an inflammatory response which may exacerbate initial levels of tissue injury. In this study, we investigated the possible immune modulation of rosuvastatin in brain ischemia reperfusion injury via interfering with inflammation. Twenty four adult albino rats were randomized into four groups (each of 6) as follow: Group (1) sham group: the rats were subjected to the same surgical procedures as other groups but the common carotid arteries were not occluded; Group (2) control (ischemic-reperfused) group: the rats were subjected to the same surgical procedures as other groups with bilateral common carotid arteries occlusion (BCCAO) for 30 min. followed by reperfusion for 1 hr but without drug; Group (3) control vehicle group: three days before surgery, rats received daily the vehicle of rosuvastatin drug, normal saline (0.9% Nacl) (1 ml/kg/day) intraperitoneally, then anesthesia and surgery with BCCAO for 30 min. followed by reperfusion for 1 hr were done and Group(4) rosuvastatin treated group: rats received daily rosuvastatin intraperitoneally. The dose of rosuvastatin was (10 mg/kg /day) for three days before the surgery, then anesthesia and surgery with BCCAO for 30 min. followed by reperfusion for 1 hr. At the end of the experiment, the levels of cerebral IL-6 significantly (p < 0.05) increased in control group as compared with the sham group. Histopothological analysis showed that rats in control group showed significant cerebral injury. Treatment with rosuvastatin significantly counteracted the increase in the cerebral levels of IL-6. Histopathological analysis revealed that rosuvastatin significantly reduced the severity of cerebral injury in the rats underwent BCCAO. We concluded that inflammatory cytokines are involved in global cerebral ischemia induced by bilateral common carotid arteries occlusion. Cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury can be modified by rosuvastatin via its anti-inflammatory effect. The aim of the study is to investigate the possible immune modulation of rosuvastatin in brain ischemia reperfusion injury.

Abstract

This research was developed to find out the treatment impact of aqueous and hexane extracts of sweet almond (Prunus amygdalus) on some biological indicators related to hyperlipidemia that induced in mice and comparative with Atorvastatin which was dried and grinded by an electrical grinder to form fine crude powder that extracted by two ways: by using 95% hexane and water by using the distilled water with Soxhlet apparatus, (40) of mature mice were randomly separated into 8 categories (5 mouse per group) and treated every day for 60 days, the first group was fed and drank normally and regarded as a negative control group (NC1), a second group was given polypropylene glycol offered as negative control group (NC2), third group was given normal water containing 0.5% of hydrogen peroxide and 1% of cholesterol in the feed for 60 days for induction of hyperlipidemia and offered as positive control group (PC), hyperlipidemia was induced in the other five categories as in the third group. Treated hyperlipidemia by hexane extract at a dose of 500 mg/ kg of body weight and aqueous extract of sweet almond with three different doses (500, 750 and 1000) mg/ kg of bodyweight and compared with the other groups that treated with atorvastatin (Lipitor) ® 20 mg/ kg B.W. as antihyperlipidemic drug. The outcomes discovered that oral dosing with extracts of sweet almond and medication therapy led to acquire beneficial changes in the parameters, which were showed incident of a significant decrease (P<0.05) at a concentration of malondialdehyde (MDA), total cholesterol (TC), triacylglycerol (TAG), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), very low density lipoprotein cholesterol (VLDL-C) and atherogenic index (AI) in serum, moreover to a significant improved (P<0.05) in the concentration of high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and serum reduced glutathione (GSH) compared with untreated group and has been proven that a dose of 1000 mg/kg of aqueous extracts of sweet almond was the best in therapy.

Abstract

Twenty four mature adult male rabbits were divided into three groups, each group was involved eight rabbits. The experiment period was reached to six weeks. Administration route of potassium dichromate was orally via drinking water. The first group represented control group. The second treated group was administrated 50mg/kg.Bw. Of potassium dichromate, while the second treated group was administrated 60mg/kg.Bw. Of potassium dichromate. (The present work symptoms on treated groups were appeared as depression), loss of appetite, followed by hyper salivation, lacrimation and diarrhea. The liver tubules of first treated group showed fatty degeneration and intracytoplasmic vacuolization of hepatocyte, while the kidney cortex was revealed glomerulonephritis in some glomeruli, interstitial connective tissue oedema, and degeneration and necrosis in the epithelial lining of proximal and distal convoluted tubules in the first and second treated groups. On the other hand, the liver lobules of rabbit was belonged to second treated group revealed polymorphic nuclear leukocytic infiltration which surrounded the central vein, as well as sever fatty degeneration in the hepatocytes due to effect of potassium dichromate at dose 60ml/kg.B.w, this dose led to sever congestion in the branches of renal vessels in the kidney cortex of rabbits.

Molecular detection of Hydatid cyst isolated from Goats in AL-Qadisiyia province by Polymerase Chain Reaction

Abstract

The present study was conducted during the period from August 2013 to April 2014 in AL-Qadisiyia province to detect the infection of hydatidiosis in Goat using Molecular and conventional methods. One hundred and seventy nine Goat were examined at slaughters in Aldewanyia abattoir. Caprine hydatid cyst were removed from infected liver and lung after visceral inspection of these organs then investigated the viability of protoscolices by staining with eosin stain then examining under light microscope of 40x.The results showed 45 hydatid cyst were found from 179 goat , the prevalence rate of infection (25.13%) . 20 cyst were found fertile only whereas 25 cyst were sterile. Regarding to infection site in organs, out of 45 hydatid cyst collected , 28(62.22%) cyst were isolated from liver whereas 17 (37.77%) isolated from lung with significant differences at p<0.05. Out of 45 hydatid cyst samples were taken from infected goats, and examined by conventional PCR , the PCR product demonstrated an expected fragment of 440 bp in the length , 10samples were given positive cases , 7(25%) samples from liver whereas only 3(12%) from lung samples gave positive PCR result, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05) between two organs.
