Abstract

The present work is concerned to study the optical properties of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and Manganese sulphate monohydrate (Mn . films. Casting method used to prepare with different concentration of Manganese sulphate monohydrate. The absorption and transmission spectra have been recorded at the wavelength ranges (200- 900) nm by using (UV-Visible) spectrophotometer. The results show that (The absorption coefficient, extinction coefficient and energy gap of the indirect allowed and forbidden transition) vary with the concentration of Mn . dopant.

Abstract

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women . Early detection is the key to improve breast cancer prognosis. Mammography is one of the reliable methods for early detection of breast carcinomas. In this paper, using two principal morphological operations are dilation and erosion. The proposed system will help the doctors to improve the diagnosis of the disease to detected cancer cells. The data set of mammogram image were taken from azadi hospital Kirkuk and Baghdad madina Al-tab .

Theoretical Design for Dielectric Chirped Mirrors

Abstract

This paper is concerned with theoretical study on optoelectronics physics to design dielectric chirped mirrors. Their theoretical analysis generally relies on the well-known scattering matrix formalism derived from the Maxwell equations. Laser performance strongly depends on the quality of optical coatings: reflectance of high reflectors should approach the ideal 100% value at the operation wavelengths in order to minimize laser intracavity losses and output coupling has to be set to specific values to ensure optimal operation. This paper reports a theoretical design of chirped mirror to achieve high reflectivity and dispersion compensation over a broad bandwidth. Analytic expressions for reflectivity, group delay and group delay dispersion are used. The aim is to compress the limits of pulse duration to reach femtosecond scale. The idea of chirped mirrors is based on the quarter-wave stack concept as a building block of dielectric high reflector. The quarter wave stack cannot be used in general as a dispersion element, therefore, a modulation of periodical structure are introduced in order to achieve the desired group delay dispersion. Dielectric materials TiO2/SiO2 arranged as a periodic stack have been used to design chirped mirrors using the Fused Silica as a substrate. In this paper we demonstrate a chirped dielectric multilayer mirror with controlled reflectivity and dispersion in the wavelength range 650 900nm, it exhibits a reflectivity of >99.98%. Furthermore, group delay dispersion shows monotonic behavior within wavelength range.

Improvement of the Iraqi Bauxite Refractory Bricks Properties by Adding Micro and Nano Zirconia

Abstract

In this study;physical,mechanical and thermal test were carried out for the Iraqi bauxite,Two types of additives were used. Iraqi white kaolin as a binding material in ratio 10%, and zirconia (micro or Nano) as additives in ratios of (5, 10, 15, 20)% for the purpose of improving the general characteristics of the Iraqi bauxite refractory bricks.The samples were formed by semi-dry pressing,with added potassium silicate in ratio 10% as binder material.The formed samples were drying at(110)̊C for 24h then firing at (1400)˚C with soking time 2h.Linear shrinkage,Apparent density,Porosity and water absorption,Bending strength,Compressive and diametrical strength, Moh̊s hardness test,Thermal conductivity,Specific heat capacity and(XRD) analysis for raw material and bricks test were carried out,All mechanical and thermal properties were improved by adding micro and Nano zirconia ,The bricks which has Nano zirconia shown the best result.

Abstract

thin films of Cr2O3 are prepared on preheated glas substrate of (793 K) by chemical spray pyrolysis method . The effect of annealing at (873 K) for half an hour on optical properties was studied , the absorbance and transmittance spectra were recorded for these films for the wavelenghts (330-900 nm) . the energy gap of the direct allowed transition was calculated. It is found that the annealing cause an increasing in the energy gap.

Abstract

Laser welding was well spayed in industrial application of joining polymers. A FEM was adopted to simulate welding process of two similar polypropylene pieces in 3-D. Steady-state and transient module is analyzed intern of polypropylene polymer thermal and mechanical properties. The obtained numerical results were show small region of material were affected by thermal is about (6.4mm), while the penetration depth shows important to be (2.5mm) compare to usual methods. Finally, the study observed that the stress, and strain were have low values, about (0.181E+09mMPa), (0.171295%).

Abstract

The radioactivity of 10 water samples and 10 sediments samples collected from different sites along Al-Husseiniya river (Karbala) were measured using HPGE detector with 50% efficiency and 2.2keV energy resolution at the 1332 keV of Co-60 source . The sediments results showed activity belonging to U-238 and Th-232 series and K-40, while the water samples were under detection levels . The equivalent radioactivity of radium (Raeq) ,absorbed dose rate (AD) , annual effective dose (AEDE) and external hazard coefficient (Hex) are calculated to evaluate radiation dangers .The results revealed that Raeq values were under the internationally permissible values ,while (AD) and (AEDE) values were generally higher the permissible limit, and Hex values were less than one for all results .

Abstract

In this research polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) films was prepared by casting method at room temperature, the influence of different weights (0.25 , 0.5 , 0.75 ,1 )g for different molecular weight of PVA( 14000 g/mol and 160000 g/mol) was studied . The absorption and transmission were recorded by using UV-Visible spectrophotometer and used to calculate some of optical properties investigated including: Reflectance spectra, Energy gap, Absorption coefficient, Refractive index, Extinction coefficient and Real part, imaginary part of dielectric constants. From results it can be concluded that optical characterization is increase as increasing of concentration and decreasing of molecular weight.

Abstract

This research included fluorescence study of energy transfer effect for mixture of two dyes Coumarin102 and Rhodamine B by taking the Coumarin 102 as donor and Rhodamine B as acceptor at two concentrations of donor (1x10-4M ) and (5x10-4M) and various acceptor concentrations (1x10-4 to 1x10-2 M) all measurements were occurred at room temperature and by taking (385nm) as excitation wavelength and compare with two cases. The radiative fluorescence lifetime and the energy transfer parameters will determined for all samples.

Abstract

In this study, nanostructure thick films of Pb0.2Cd0.8S were prepared by the chemical bath deposition technique on glass slides at 343 K with different thicknesses ( 2.65 , 3 and 3.58)μm.The surface morphology of films which characterized by AFM and SEM revealed the formation started in low thickness with small islands to reach the final structure formation in 3.58μm with nano sheets (Like- stars) and homogenous for whole area of top surface and the spherical crystallite size of the films is found to range from 50 nm to 100 nm. The optical absorption and transmission properties of films were determined by UV spectrophotometry.The energy band gap values were increased with thickness increased as 2.65 μm (2eV), 3 μm (2.2 eV) and 3.85 μm (2.23 eV) according to the principle of thickness relation with energy band gap.

Abstract

commercially available epoxy resin is taken as material in this study for improvement his mechanical properties to manufacturing of some parts of airplanes, by using micro ceramic particles like AL2O3 and SiO2 as fillers material in epoxy resin to produce particulate reinforced polymer composites. The composites are fabricated by using hand lay-up technique in different volume fractions of AL2O3 such as ( 0% ,5% ,10% ,15% ) and 10% volume fraction of SIO2 and ( AL2O3 + SIO2 ) for choose best among them to use it in manufacturing .It was observed that used ( 10% AL2O3 ) reinforced epoxy composite is exhibited maximum value of hardness and impact strength while the use of ( 10% SIO2 ) reinforced epoxy having better values of flexural strength . At last The volume friction and the kind of fillers plays an important role in the enhancement of mechanical properties like impact strength , flexural strength and hardness

The concept of length biased distribution can be used for analyzing life time data, which need adjusting the original probability distribution, here we consider two of size biased distributions, which are [ size – biased Poisson distribution (SBPD)] and second is [ size – biased generalized discrete logarithmic distribution (SBLSD)]. Abstract

In this research we introduce type of fractional-order polynomials based on the Legender-Pseudo-Spectral polynomials of approximation solution fornon-Linear fractional differential equations.Also we construct the operational matrices of fractional derivative of order (∝) in the Caputo diffrential and show that this matrix with the Tau method are utilized to reduce the solution of some fractional-order differtial non-linear equations.

Abstract

The rapid developments in communications systems and image transfer over the internet have led to the need for a new algorithm to hide text messages and images. The research presents dual method and 2-D wavelet transform method. In the first method, the colored image is transferred to Hue Saturation Lightness (HSL), while the second method, the Hue Saturation Lightness image is compressed by using 2-D wavelet transform (2DWT) to the L1, L2, and L3. After using the secret key to hide the compressed image the hidden image is produced. The secret key is a colored image from which statistical gradient of color image is taken and after the statistical gradient or histogram is obtained, it is possible to use cover image with a secret key to hide message under cover image. The results that have been obtained in this proposed algorithm are based on the hidden image of capacity and robustness against attacks, and the generation of the secret key, which the original image can be retrieved without the recipient losing the data in the networkان التطورات السريعة في انظمة الاتصالات ونقل الصور عبر شبكة الانترنيت ادت الى ايجاد خوارزمية جديدة لاجل اخفاء رسالة نصية. ان هذا البحث يقدم طريقة مزدوجة تتكون من طريقة التدرج اللوني ) (Hue وطريقة تحويل الموجة الثنائية الابعاد 2D . في الطريقة الاولى يجري تحويل الصورة الملونة الى خفة اشباع لوني ) Hue Saturation Lightness (. وبعدها يتم ضغط صورة التدرج اللوني ) (Hue وفي الطريقة الثانية يتم ضغط صورة خفة اشباع لوني بطريقة التحويل الموجة الثنائية الابعاد 2D الى المستوى L1 L2, L3, . وبعد استخدام المفتاح السري لاخفاء الصورة المضغوطة نحصل على صورة مخفية , والمفتاح السري هو عبارة عن صورة ملونة ناخذ منها التدرج الاحصائي للصورة وبعد الحصول على التدرج الاحصائي ممكن استخدامه مع صورة الغطاء كمفتاح سري لاخفاء الرسالة تحت صورة الغطاء. تعتمد النتائج التي تم الحصول عليها في هذه الخوارزمية المقترحة على الصورة المخفية ذات سعة وقوة ضد الهجوم. وتوليد المفتاح السري الذي يمكن عن طريقه استرجاع الصورة الاصلية دون ان يفقد المستلم البيانات في الشبكة.

Abstract

Blends of polypropylene (PP) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE) may contribute to make recycling more economically attractive. The aim of this work was to make LDPE /PP blends (0/100, 10/90, 25/75, 50/50 w/w) via injection molding carried out under 170 o C injection temperatures and to evaluate their physical properties including :(Shore D hardness, Density, Tensile strength , elongate to break , Fracture toughness ,impact strength, weight gain and thermal conductivity properties . The blend behavior dependent on its composition, especially regarding elongation at break and the presence of necking . The optimum sample was (10:90 w/w) (PP/LDPE). This sample has the optimum elongation to break, optimum fracture toughness, optimum thermal conductivity, and other properties. Increasing of PP contents over the optimum value leads to decreasing of the properties of blend. Weight gain of these samples increasing with increasing of the Immersion time in oil and benzene liquid but the sample not affected when exposed water.تم تحضير خليط من البولي اثلين الواطئ الكثافة والبولي بروبلين لعمل خليط بوليميري اقل كلفة من الناحية الاقتصادية. الهدف من البحث هو عمل خليط بوليميري من البولي اثيلين بطريقة القولبة بدرجه حراره (0/100, 10/90, 25/75, 50/50 w/w) والبولي بروبلين الواطي الكثافة بنسب 170 درجه مئويه بطريقة القولبة بالبثق لغرض دراسة الخواص الفيزيائية المتضمنة) الاستطالة صلاده شور ، الكثافة ، مقاومة الشد ، الزياده بالوزن والتوصيلية الحرارية ( ، افضل عينة كانت بنسبه ) 10 : 90 ( ) بولي بروبلين : بولي اثيلين ( واطئي الكثافة : اظهرت النتائج ان العينة التي تحتوي 10 % بولي بروبلين تظهر زيادة في جميع الخواص وبزياة نسبه البولي بروبلين يؤدي الى تدني الخواص الفيزيائية للخليط .الزيادة في وزن العينات اظهرت زيادة في مع زيادة زمن الغمر في النفط والبنزين فيما اظهرت النتائج ان الماء لايؤثر على الخليط البوليميري .

Abstract

In this research formed alumina compact by using two kinds of internal lubricant (Sodium silicate, poly ester) add different weight ratio and after have good toughness compact we use in this research, compacts compression by (3,5,7,9 KN) &studied (porosity ,density , hardness ,x-ray diffraction) ,the results shown the sample (alumina- Sodium silicate) has few porosity and high (density , hardness) compare in sample (alumina- poly ester).

Abstract

In this research, some mechanical properties such as (flexural strength, young modulus and wear rate) have been studied to the composite Epoxy resin (EP) reinforced with % 5 volume fraction of chopped kenaf fibers (KF) ) by using hand lay-up technique . The natural fibers treated with 0.5 normality of NaOH solution. The experimental results were compared with treated fibers composite, un treated fiber composite and pure epoxy. It was found that the treated kenaf fibers have increasing in young modulus, flexural strength values of the (EP/ KF) composite, comparing with neat resin (EP), while wear rates were increased with applied load of all samples.

Abstract

Cloud computing is the new technology that aim to provide software, hardware, bandwidth, and virtualized resources on demand via the internet based on the principle of pay per use. There are many challenges that facing the cloud computing, one of the main concerns is managing the identity and access control. This paper focuses on improving the security of identity and access management (IAM) in cloud computing. The proposed scheme combines the security of Identity-Based Cryptography (IBC), Trusted cloud (TC), and Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC). IBC is suitable choice for IAM because it reduce the key management complexities, and an ECC is robust algorithm and resistance against attacks.
