Histological effects of cold watery fenugreek seeds extract on the Nephron in kidney of Albino mice

Abstract

The present study was designated to estimate the histological effect after administration of cold watery fenugreek seeds extract of the nephron in albino mice. This work was carried out on 40 healthy adult mice aging (6-8 months). The experimental animals was divided into four treated groups (A, B, C, D) and control group. Preparation the watery fenugreek seeds extract for administration with (150 mg/g) of concentration. The experimental animals treated with extract for different time periods as the following (15, 30, 45, 60 days). The histological results of the treated groups show after the following time periods [A after(15) days, B after (30) days, C after (45) days and D after (60) days of administration]. The histological results showed the nephrons composed of renal corpuscle, proximal convoluted tubules, Henelʼs loop, and distal convoluted tubules, the current results appears that the renal corpuscle composed of tuft of tinny capillaries glomerular surrounding by double layer called Bowmans capsule which contain between two layers occur main space that called Bowmans space, so showed the mesangial cells occupied the spaces between the glomerular capillaries. The glomerular capillaries had significant increase in diameter. The proximal convulated tubules, lined by simple high cuboidal epithelial cells with more prominent brush border, the tubules characterized by significant increase in diameter. The present study Henelʼs loop notification the epithelial layer of internal surface of lined with simple squamous epithelial and acidophilic cytoplasm. The tissue section appears that the nephron composition characterized by significant increase in diameter with increased the time periods of administration of extract for the treated groups which showed exfoliated cells that aggregation in the lumen on tubular structures of the nephron. The extract have significant effect on the depression of height the epithelial cells lining of the internal surface of the proximal, henel loop, and distal convoluted tubules that associated with increased time of administration of extract which led to increase the glomerular infiltration rate that led to increase the amount of infiltration inside the tubular structures of the nephron in addition to increase the speed the infiltration flow .

Detection of Pork in Canned Meat using TaqMan Real-time PCR

Abstract

This study was aimed to detection of pork contamination in commercial canned meat product in Iraq market using real-time PCR method through analysis of mitochondrial cytochrome b gene. Method based on porcine-specific primers and TaqMan probe were designed to amplify 130 bp for assessing pork adulteration in canned meat. Testing the twenty samples of local market that show no pork detection to have pork contamination in nineteen meat cans. In conclusion, specific PCR amplification of cytochrome b gene is useful in detection of hidden pork meat mince in processed foods because of its rapid, specificity and sensitivity. This method will ensure that trust of the customers with these products.

Comparison of 2D Resistivity Imaging Survey Using Wenner, Wenner - Schlumberger and Dipole-dipole Electrode Arrays in Uruk Archaeological Site, Iraq

Abstract

The survey compares the three common arrays using in 2D imaging surveys, Wenner, Wenner-Schlumberger and Dipoledipole electrode arrays, and most suitable array is chosen in Uruk archaeological site. The Comparison consist of the resolution and efficiency of 2D resistivity imaging survey with these arrays. Three survey tests on a selected profile in Uruk archaeological site are done to examine the imaging capabilities of these arrays.The survey shows that the Dipole-dipole array has better horizontal data coverage than the Wenner. The horizontal data coverage for the Wenner-Schlumberger array is slightly wider than Wenner array but narrower than that obtained with the Dipole-dipole array. Also, the survey time for survey Dipole-dipole array longer than the others, then that for Wenner- Schlumberger, then at the later that for Wenner array. The survey shows that the Dipole-dipole array has a shallower depth of investigation compared to the Wenner and Wenner –Schlumberger arrays.Finally, it shows that Dipoledipole array gives the highest resolution and best image for vertical anomalies. During the 2D resistivity imaging in Uruk, Dipoledipole array is found to be the best array compared to Wenner and Wenner- Schlumberger arrays for detecting archaeological targets.

DFT conformational study of five-ring bent-core mesogens with a central 1,3‐phenylene unit

Abstract

The potential energy surfaces of the five-ring bent-core molecules with a central 1,3-phenylene unit, including azobenzene with alkyloxy as terminal chains, has been investigated by using density functional theory (DFT). The PBE1PBE/6-31G(d,p) level of theory has been used for some computations in addition to the BP86 function, where used to study the influence of rotation of the connection groups. These computations were performed on the conformational behavior of the connection groups, included ester linkage group, N=N group and terminal OR group, of the five-ring bent-core compound in a systematic way. The relaxed rotation barrier with respect to the six torsion angles (φ1, φ2, φ3, φ4, φ5 and φ6) were calculated. It is interesting to note that the oxygen atoms of the linkage group, which are directly connected to the rings, give banana-shaped compounds with energy barrier by about 0.9 kcal mol-1 and high flexibility, whereas the ester group connected to phenyl ring by a carbon atom shows a high energy barrier by about 10.2 kcal mol-1 and a relatively limited conformational degree of freedom. The dependency of the Dipole moment on conformers with constraints to the torsion angle was studied.

Abstract

A new, simple, sensitive and rapid spectrophotometric method is proposed for the determination of trace amount of palladium (II). The method is based on the formation of a 1:1complex with 3-(4′- antipyriyl azo) 1- nitroso-2-naphthol (APANN) as a new reagent is developed . The complex has a maximum absorption at 436.5 nm and εmax of 0.19 x105 L. mol-1. cm-1. A linear correlation (0.1–2.0 μg. ml-1) was found between absorbance at λmax and concentration.

Analytical Investigation of Charging Ability of Insulators under Electron Beam Irradiation inside SEM Chamber

Abstract

An analytical procedure has been carried out to measure the charge that may trapped in an insulator sample and related electrostatic surface potential in sense of mirror effect phenomenon. In fact, scanning electron microscope mirror method (SEMME), sometimes called electron mirror method (EME) and/or magnification factor method (MFM), has been used to accomplished that purpose. However, this work has been carried out concerning the theoretical point of view, the mirror plot curve has been adopted as an evaluation scale for the quality of the mirror image. Therefore, this procedure had been used to investigates the experimental mirror plot curves for PMMA material with different accelerating potential and studying the most important parameters that affects in these curves. Results have clearly shows that the radius of irradiated area play an important rule in the shape of mirror plot figure and then the quality of the image.
