Abstract

A rapid and sensitive spectrophotometric method is proposed for the determination of metoclopramide hydrochloride. This method is based on the diazotization reaction of metoclopramide hydrochloride with sodium nitrite in hydrochloric acid medium; the formed diazonium salt is then coupled with phenol in sodium hydroxide medium, to form a yellow water-soluble mono azo dye. Beer’s law is obeyed in the concentration range of 1 – 20 µg mL-1 at 463 nm with detection limit 0.406 µg mL-1. The molar absorptivity and Sandell’s sensitivity were found to be 2.42 × 104 L mol-1 cm-1 and 0.0015 µg cm-2, respectively. Common excipients used as additives in tablets do not interfere in the proposed method. The method is successfully employed for the determination of metoclopramide hydrochloride in tablets and the results agree favorably with the official British Pharmacopoeia method.

Abstract

LAS is the basic material in the industry of liquid and solid detergents, the adsorption of LAS achieved in the concentration 50-1000 mg.l-1.
The adsorption efficiency on bentonite was modified using a cationic surfactant which is Cetyl Pyridinium Bromide (CPB), that raised the adsorption percentage Q(%) from 36% for free bentonite to 81% for modified bentonite at 298 K using 250 ppm LAS solution.
The effect of adding three kinds of inorganic salts was studied; the salts were Pb(NO3)2, MgSO4, and CaSO4 in the concentration range (100-400) mg.l-1, The results showed a negative effect on the sorption process.
The effect of pH on the sorption of LAS on clay showed that the highest sorption on bentonite was at pH 9, The thermodynamic parameters were calculated, and the kinetics were studied and it followed a pseudo-1st order kinetics.

Abstract

The study was conducted at Field Crop Department Farms , College of Agriculture-University of Tikrit. The objective was to study the effect of several leaves defoliation : Non defoliation (control)D1, defoliation of lower 25% D2, upper 25% D3, lower 50% D4, upper 50% D5 of plant leaves ,defoliation of 25 D6, 40 D7 and 50% D8 of plant leaves along stem , and defoliation of all plant leaves D9. that took place at two stages of plant growth : Vegetative growth to head formation (R1) , and the period from heads opening to flowering on seed yield and its components of sunflower var. Euroflor. The experiment was designed according to RCBD with three replications. Agricultural practices were made according to recommendations. Results showed that defoliation of plant leaves reduced seed yield and its components , the highest reduction occurred when defoliation of all plant leaves by 30.7,46.6,42.3, 46.6, 70.8, 70.8,and 32.2% of head diameter, number of seed per head , kernel : husk ratio , weight of 1000 seed , seed yield , biological yield , and seed oil percentage, respectively. While increased percentage of non-fertilized seed by 47.7% compared with non defoliation. Defoliation of plant leaves during growth stage caused reduction in the number of seed per head and kernel : husk ratio by 5.2 and 3.6% , respectively. Defoliation of all plant leaves not different with non defoliation In harvest index . Significant interaction between defoliation (%) and stages of plant growth in all studied characters. In conclusion ,defoliation of 25% of plant leaves and above in gypsyferous soil caused reduction in seed yield and seed oil percentage. Most of nutrient materials storage and assimilated in stem transfer to the seeds , this case indicated by increase harvest index of the plants which removed all leaves .

Abstract

Abstract The aim of this research was to determine the effects in some blood parameters in the newborns after the maternal administration of Uranyl acetate. 12 mature females, Swiss Albino rats were used. Animals were divided in to two main groups. The first group received, distilled water only and used as control. While the second group received daily Uranyl acetate orally (75 mg / kg b.w). The administration was done, from the first day of gestation, labor, lactation and then continuous fore four weeks’. The pops were subdivided in to two subgroups. The first was killed at the age of two weeks and the second was killed at age of four weeks The following results were obtained. 1 - A significant (P< 0.05) increase was found in the total WBC counts in the pops blood of the second group for two age stages. 2 - A significant (P< 0.05) increase was observed in the WBC differential count (i.e. neutrophils) in the second group for two old stages. Also significant (P<0.05) decreases were found in the WBC differential count (i.e. lymphocytes) in the same subgroup mentioned above.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to detect the cytogenetic effect of sodium sulphate through using cytogenetic analysis ( mitotic index and chromosomal aberrations on somatia and germ cells ) and sperm head abnormalities on white mice . Ninety eight male mice were used in this study . To test the effect on each indicator , these animals were divided into two groups . The first one was the control group while the second was treated with sodium sulphate . The result refer that the sodium sulphate cause an inhibition of the mitotic index in somatic and sex cells and the inhibition increased by augmenting the concentration . Such difference were significant (P<0.01) . The influence of the doses was significant in the case of the somatic cells (P<0.05). The chromosomal aberrations increased pursuant to the raising of sodium sulphate concentration , the influence was significant (P<0.01) . The doses had an effect on the occurrence of aberration (P<0.05) in case of chromatid breaks of the sex cells only , sodium sulphate brought about a significant augmentation (P<0.01) in sperm head abnormality , with their different kind period were without significant effect .

Abstract

An investigation was conducted to evaluate the peroxidase enzyme in local tomato included tomato’s skin and flesh for each green, semi ripe, ripe and whole tomato fruit. The results indicated the highest peroxidase specific activity was in the whole tomato fruit 16 unit / mg protein . The sodium acetate 0.1M buffer was the best extraction solution of peroxidase from tomato fruit and specific activity was 32 unit mg protein protein. The enzyme was purified in to two steps including precipitation by ammonium sulfate with 85 % saturation followed by ion exchange chromatography on DEAE – Sephadex – A 50 which showed 6 as fold of purification and 53.7 % as enzymatic yield .

Abstract

The preequilibrium statistical model, which is used to analyze nuclear reaction data, depends basically on number of parameters including the master equation. A numerical solution for the master equation of the preequilibrium statistical model is presented in this work. One-component Fermi gas model is assumed. This numerical method is shown to give the same accuracy for the simple as well as the more advanced schemes. The present method shows fast convergence for a wide range of physical system parameters. Such a method is applied for two reaction examples that include neutron and proton induced reactions with 54Fe nucleus for entrance energies 20 and 80 MeV. Comparisons with standard solution methods show that the method suggested here reveals its accuracy and simplicity for practical applications and calculations. The results indicated that the present method is proper for low reaction energies, but with worse accuracy at higher energies. The behavior of the present method was examined against the energy, exciton numbers, and time variation.

Abstract

The negative parity states of 125Te up to excitation energy of  2.3 MeV were investigated in the framework of the IBFM. One level calculation is more reliable than multilevel calculations. The 1h11/2 has been considered as nearly half full. The assignments of some experimental levels have been confirmed. Electromagnetic transition for some low-lying transitions, magnetic moments and the spectroscopic factor were deduced. Nuclear structure, IBFM, Te- odd nucleus.

Abstract

The applicability and performance of the artificial neural networks are investigated by predicting river discharge one and two days ahead for Gharraf River, south of Iraq. Gharraf River system is located at southeast Iraq within Mesopotamian Plain. A multilayerd percpetron artificial neural net is selected to achieve experiments which trained by using back-propagation algorithm. Three models are presented firstly to explore the affect of the previous discharge on the specified discharge. The ANN generated results are evaluated using statistical parameters: squared correlation coefficient R2 and root mean squared error RMSE. The results of this study indicate that ANNs are capable of producing very good results for both one and two days ahead predictions. Correlation between observed and simulated discharge values of both high and low is estimated with a good accuracy.

Abstract

The research includes a morphotectonic study of Mukhul anticline which located to the north of Baiji in city of Tikrit which is north of Baghdad. The study is based on remote sensing data such as image taken by Digital Globe (2005)with three bands(1,2,3) and Terra Metric , Europe Technologies (2005) image and topographic map in addition to different geological maps from various sources as well as the field work. According to the previous data sources a geomorphologic classification carried out on the bases of genetic origin by using false colour images. The geomorphologic map has been prepared with location of different geomorphologic units as well as the morphotectonic map of the area. Various types of drainage patterns identified in the area also longitudinal section of three valleys were plotted and some anomalies in the upward concavity of the longitudinal section were analyzed. The index of sinuosity of the Tigris river calculated in (14) station on the river which interprets the tectonic of the studied area.

Abstract

Let be a commutative ring with identity and let be a unitary left module. We call the module kerquasi-injective if for every monomorphism from into , where is a submodule of and is a quasi-injective hull of and for every homomorphism from into , there exists a homomorphism from into such that .
It is clear that every quasi-injective module is kerquasi-injective, however the converse is false. Also every ker-injective module is kerquasi-injective, however the converse is false. In this paper we give some characterizations of kerquasi-injective modules, we also study some conditions under which a kerqausi-injective module becomes quasi-injective. For example, if a kerquasi-injective module is a finitely generated, then it is a quasi-injective. We ought to mention that we were not able to give an example of a kerquasi-injective module which is not quasi-injective and ker-injective.

Abstract

Digital image inpainting is a technique that can repair a portion of damaged or removed image by means of automatic mechanisms.
This paper proposes an automatic approach for reconstruction of small missing or damaged portions of images using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The PSO inpainting approach attempts to find the best match between Red, Green, and Blue (RGB) channels of the pixels masked (i.e. pixels of the region to be removed) and pixels in the surrounding area, and transfer the color of the best matching. The results show that our mechanism is more efficient (i.e. less time required to inpaint the masked region) when compared with genetic - based image inpainting.

Abstract

This paper proposes a method for automatic adaptation of segmentation control parameters based on Genetic Algorithms. The goals of automatic adaptation of segmentation parameters in this research are to provide continuous adaptation to normal environmental variation conditions such as (time of day, weather) to exhibit learning capability and to provide robust performance when interacting with a dynamic environment. The research intended to adapt the performance of a well known existing segmentation method (Recursive region growing Algorithms) across a wide variety of environmental conditions which cause changes in the image characteristics and maximizes the segmentation quality measures. Experimental results are given that indicate the ability to adapt the segmentation performance in outdoor color image with high quality segmentation result in a minimal number of generations.

GALAXY FORMATION IN LAMBDA COLD DARK MATTER MODEL

Abstract

The present work adapts the lambda cold dark matter ΛCDM model for simulating 106 dark matter and 106 gas particles to form galaxies inside a box of size (70Mpc/h)3. The simulation is shown from high redshift z=10(1.2Gyr.) after the Big Bang to the low redshift z=0(13.4Gyr.) which represents the present day. The position of the particles and the temperature-density relations were studied at each epoch. It is found that the galaxies formation start at low redshift z=5 and the gas cooled at 104 K. The web construction of voids, filaments and clusters of galaxies were observed clearly at z=0. Sixteen processors of high performance supercomputer of Nottingham University-England were used in the simulation and the run took more than one day.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to make a simulation to the photon counting system for Crimean astrophysical observatory and south Africa astronomical observatory by arranged a theoretical tables of photon counting of each system which produced from the luminous flux arrived to the detector from different stars have various magnitudes using UBVRI filters system by take into account the limits of smallest magnitude for the systems. This tables can be used to indicates the precisions of data that registered by the observational system by compare the practical values with the theoretical simultaneously during the observation to determine the failure in order to be avoided

Abstract

The study was aimed to Detection of microbial and chemical qualtiy for 16 samples of carbonated drinks and juices locally prepared and imported that are available in local markets, the results shows that the canned samples were free from microbial contamination, while the microbial contamination limit of uncanned juices samples P17, P18, P19, P20 were do not fit Iraqi standard specifications and contains coliform bacteria, but did not contains Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella Spp, Mold and yeast for the anothers samples P5, P6, P7, P8, P9, P10, P11, P12, P13, P14, P15, P16. The results of thin layer Chromatography by silica gel shows no compatible Rf value of the samples P9, P10, P17, P18, P19, P20 with the standard samples that were used for comparison, while full compatible Rf values appears for the anothers samples P5, P6, P7, P8, P11, P12, P13, P14, P15, P16. The results of the optical density using spectrofotometric technique at wave leanth 400 - 600 nm to determine λ max of selected samples P9, P10, P17, P18, P19, P20 were not compatible with the standard samples, while the value of the anothers samples P5, P6, P7, P8, P11, P12, P13, P14, P15, P16 were compatible with the standard samples that used for comparison.

Abstract

Pseudomonas fluorescens isolate was isolated from soil. The antibacterial activity of crude extract of this isolate was determined against pathogenic bacteria (Klebsiella pneumonia, Staphylococcus aureus) which are isolated from patients with skin infections. The extraction of this substance was done and study it characterization after purified by silica gel chromatography, It was stable within range of pH (5-9) at 37 ºC for 24 hr. and inactivated by serum at concentration > 50%. The substance was soluble in methylene chloride, chloroform, acetone, sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid and it was insoluble in water, methanol, ethyl acetate and hexane.
