Abstract

This research aim to evaluate the concise rocedure for analysis and design of Reinforced concrete structure to resist internal blast pressure. This evaluation will be locate the required thickness of the roof structure in addition the quantity , ship and connection mechanism of steel reinforcement. In order to verify the asuracy of the theoretical analysis and design procedure of Reinforced concrete roof structure to resist internal blast pressure. It was intended to carry out a field test for the structure designed after specified the internal dimensions of the structure (3.30*3.30*2.60)m , charge weight (1.5) kg and the ecommended degree of protection usually in terms of ductility ratio= 2.0.The natural period and the dynamic load factor were also calculated for the above structure .The objective of the test was justified since no scabbing from the roof was observed this means the thickness (25) cm of roof can keep all the out side individuals, equipment and buildings safe and away from the danger of fire and fragmentation during the period of blast pressure . The individuals and equipment should be kept clear away from the venting zone. A good agreement was found between the. theoretical and experimental results.

Abstract

Footprint in standing position were taken for 100 young females, 50 were from urban area and other 50 from rural area. The heel index and lateral deviation of big toe were measured. Footprint is simple test that can be done easily by medical or nursing staff. There is significant statistical difference between the two groups. This might be explained different life style and shoe wearing in the two communities. Flat foot and hallux valgus is less in young female in rural Iraqi community. The rural style of life in our community reduce the possibility of acquiring flat foot and hallux valgus.

Abstract

In this paper a new method for solving the integral equation in space-time which arises in mathematical physics, mechanics and the heat conduction theory is presented. The central idea is: First, differentiating both sides of two-dimensions Fredholm integral Equations n-times with respect to both variables x and t, second, substituting the Taylor series of two variables for the unknown function, and third, obtain a system of linear equations which can be solved by a suitable truncation scheme .Lastly, the double-quadrature rules are used to calculate the required integrals in this procedure. The presented algorithm is illustrated by some numerical examples with comparison tables.

((Environmental Significant of Iodine Distribution in Ground Water at Baashiqa and Tel- Afer Regions/Northern Iraq))
توزيع اليود في مياه الآبار الجوفية وأهميته البيئية فـي منطقتي بعشيقـة وتلعفر /شمال العراق

Abstract

Iodine and Iodide contents are locally variable in ground water at Baashiqa and Tel-Afer regions and their average sum to (0.17 µg/ml and 0.27µ g/ml )and (0.15µg/ml and 0.19 µg/ml ) respectively .Iodine and Iodide distributions are affected by some hydrochemical properties especially pH and electrical conductivity which reflect washing reaction between well water enriched with dissolved salt ( cations , bicarbonate, carbonate ) and the constituents of geological formations exposed at both regions. Ground water at both regions are used for different purposes including domestic and agriculture in addition to drinking water. Such uses may affect differently on human health and consequently on the endemic iodine deficiency diseases known to occur among the population of the northern IRAQ. Apparently, iodine, iodide contents are related to the number of IDD patients and such relation is affected by various factors including pH, dissolved salts and sulfur species, which determine the bioavalability of iodine for the biological processes.

Abstract

Pediculus humanus capitis (head louse) infestation is a common problem in school aged children. A cross-sectional study done in AL-Alam village in Salahadin Province in 2002 aimed to estimate the incidence of Pediculus capitis among primary school children of age ranging between 7-14 years. The study showed that out of 170 children 36 (21.2 %) were infested with Pediculus capitis. Higher proportion of infestation was found among female. Infestation among younger children (7-8 years) was very high (40.3 %) in comparison to other age groups. Also, higher proportion of infestation was found among children lived in large families and whom parent’s educational levels were low (illiterate). It has been concluded that Pediculus capitis infestation is more common among younger children with poor personal hygiene and among longhaired children in this rural area.

Abstract

This research includes a detailed study of the variation of heavy minerals in the recent sediment of the Lesser Zab River. The studied sediments contain four main mineral groups(iron oxides , chromite ,epidotes ,amphiboles and pyroxenes)that make the main heavy mineral assemblages of the Lesser Zab sediments. Furthermore , few amounts of garnet and flaky minerals are recorded. Heavy minerals have been identified and estimated using both polarizing and binocular microscopes. The results suggest that there is significant difference in the mineralogical and lithological contents before and after the Dokan Dam .The sediments generally are classified as lithic arenites that composed principally of rock fragments followed in amounts by quartz ,feldspars and heavy minerals.

Abstract

Effects of diets containing fats on blood parameters and some carcass characteristics were investigated. Broilers were fed one of four different isonitrogenous diets containing 5% added fat (Soybean oil, Corn oil, Sunflower oil and Vegetable oil). The effect of different fat sources on the protein rations of thigh and breast muscles of broilers was statistically not significant. The effect of different fats on serum cholesterol and mean lipoprotein in broilers was significant (p<0.01), but the effect of those on triglyceride values was not significant. The effect of sex on blood parameters for cholesterol and triglyceride values was not statistically significant, significant (p<0.05) for lipoprotein.

Abstract

The phosphate ions adsorption of some calcarious soils of Nainawa and Kirkuk regions from 0.01 M KCL solution containing (1-12) micromoles P has been studied .The different type of soils (32.4-39.84) % CaCO3 were fertilized with (22.5, 45, 90) kg P/ha and planted with maize ( Zea mays L. ) in 1 kg pots for five years. Adsorbed phosphorous at equilibrium solution concentration of 0.2 ppm P ( Ce = 0.2ppm P ) was determind .It was established an inverse relation between adsorbed P at Ce = 0.2 ppm P and the extractable phosphorous was established. The amount of adsorbed phosphorous at Ce = 0.2 ppm P diminished as the rate of applied fertilizers increase. From the data obtained in this study one may conclude that for the studied soils an average of 69.3 ppm extractable P correspond to an equilibrium soil solution of 0.2 ppm P ( Ce = 0.2 ppm P ) considered as adequate nutration level for most field crops, and justifies the use of P adsorption isotherms for evaluating the phosphorous fertilizer requirement.

Abstract

The experiment was conducted at Al-Haweja / Governorate of Karkuk during the season 2004 using ten varieties of cotton (Coker310, Lachata, Halab90, Halab33, Deer22, Nazley87, Montana, SP8886, Stonvill474 and Stonvill887. The varieties planted at mid April using Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications in two farms, the first under surface irrigation and the second under sprinkler irrigation using fixed system. The results showed: Highly significant differences among varieties under the two irrigation methods, combining analysis showed highly significant differences between the two irrigation methods for all characters except boll weight, while the differences among varieties were significant for all studied characters. The interaction between the two factors was significant for number of vegetative branches and number of nodes to first flower branch , the surface irrigation method exceeded the sprinkler one for the most characters, the variety Montana exceeded the others for the most characters, the seed cotton yield showed significant positive correlations with plant height, number of flowering branches, number of bolls, boll weight and significant negative with number of vegetative branches and number of nodes to first flower branch under the two irrigation methods and their average, path coefficient analysis showed that number of bolls per plant had highest direct and indirect effects on seedcotton yield and can be used in breeding programs to improve seedcotton yield.
