Abstract

This study was designed to examine the invitro antibacterial effect of different types of extracts of the seeds of the plant Nigella Sativa on the growth of different types of isolated bacteria .(100) samples of clinical isolates from patients at AL-Samawa general hospital shows the growth of different types of bacteria (Staph .aureus , Staph . epidermis , Strept . pneumonia , E.coli , Klebsiella and Pseudomonas) and these were tested for sensitivity test against different types of Nigella Sativa extract . The study shows good antimicrobial activity of these extract on most of the gram positive bacteria and some of the gram negative ones . The highest activity was against Staph .aureus and Staph.epidermis (P=0.05)while there was little effect on E.coli and no effect on Klebsiella and Pseudomonas

صمم هذا البحث لدراسة التاثير التثبيطي لمستخلصات بذور الحبـة الســـوداء (Nigella Sativa) المائية والكحولية والزيتية على انواع مختارة من البكتريا المرضية حيث تم عزل (100) عينة من بكتريا (Staph.aureus, Staph.epidermis , Strept.pneumonia , E.coli, Klebsiella , Pseudomonas ) من نماذج مرضية مختلفة في مختبر المستشفى العام في مدينة السماوة / محافظة المثنى واجري فحص الحساسية لمستخلصات بذور الحبة السوداء المختلفة على الاطباق الزرعية وقد اظهرت الدراسة تاثيرا تثبيطيا واضحا لهذه المستخلصات على البكتريا نوع Gram positive وبالاخص منها بكتريا(Staph.epidermis , (Staph.aureus حيث كان التاثير كبيرا جدا (P= 0.05) فيما كان تاثيرها على البكتريا من نوع Gram Negative اما قليلا كتأثيرها على بكتريا (E.coli) او معدومة كما هو واضح من عدم تاثيرها على نمو جراثيم Klebsiella) , Pseudomonas) .

Abstract

The present study assess the level luteinizing hormone (LH) and Follicle stimulating hormone FSHin the pituitary gland and testosterone hormone in the testes of male rats treated with thymoquinone.Fourty eight Waster albino mature male rats Rattus norvegicus were 60 days old were randomlydivided into two groups equal , each group 24 rat and in turn divided into subgroups by 8 rat for eachgroup according to the length of time for the experiment, which lasted six weeks (every two weeks aresacrificing a group of animals ), the first group of control represented where they were to followadministration animals given a control group and one ml of physiological saline solution per day,while the rest of the animal groups and given one ml of thymoquinone a concentration of 50 mg / kgof body weight. The end of every two weeks is the sacrifice of a group of animals. The Pituitary glandand testes also weighed for the purpose of knowledge of Members mentioned weights. The resultsshowed a significant increase (P <0.05) in weights of rats treated compared with the control group aswell as a significant increase in the pituitary weights and testes concluded that thymoquinone havepotent role in elevation of follicles stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, Testosterone hormonerelated to reproduction and fertility.
