Abstract

There are more concerns about possible health effects related to electromagnetic fields from computer monitors and other video display terminals because of the widespread using of computers in laboratories ,offices and internet halls. This research aims to detect the effect of electromagnetic field radiations in these halls and laboratories and study the successful ways of minimizing its negative health effect on human health. The research has been performed on both the mathematical calculations and practical measurements. The obtaining results show that the practical measurements are consistent with the mathematical calculations results. Comparison of these results with the safety standard guideline limits shows that they are within the acceptable exposuring limits recommended by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP ) and that means there is no health risk from exposure to these fields if the exposure is within the acceptable limits.

هناك مخاوف كثيرة من الآثار الصحية المحتملة الناتجة عن تأثير الأشعة الكهرومغناطيسية المنبعثة من أجهزة الكمبيوتر وأجهزة العرض الفديوية الأخرى بسبب اتساع نطاق استخدام الحواسيب في المختبرات ,المكاتب وقاعات الانترنت. يهدف هذا البحث إلى كشف تأثير الأشعة الكهرومغناطيسية في هذه القاعات وفي مختبرات الحاسوب ودراسة السبل الناجعة للحد من آثارها السلبية على صحة الإنسان. تم أنجاز البحث بطريقتين الحسابات الرياضية و القياسات العملية وقد تم إجراء القياسات العملية في مختبرين للحاسوب وقاعتين للانترنت. إن دراسة النتائج أظهرت آن القياسات العملية مطابقة للنتائج النظرية.كما أن مقارنة النتائج الحاصلة مع المعايير الآمنة بينت أن هذه النتائج تقع ضمن الحدود الآمنة المسموح بها دوليا المحددة من قبل (( اللجنة الدولية للحماية من خطر الإشعاع اللاايوني)) التابعة لمنظمة الصحة العالمية. .

Abstract

Although it is difficult to imagine life without electricity, there are compiling confirmations show that exposure to magnetic fields correlated electricity and radio frequencies pose magnificent hazards to human health. The most economist method to transfer electricity from power generation stations to users is by measures of high power transmission lines, buoyed by big transmission towers. The cables laced between the towers radiate magnetic and electric fields. In this research study, the magnetic field at ground level under 400 kV network lines extended in residential places have been conducted in two ways, mathematical calculation and practical measurement then the obtained results analyzed and compared with the international standards reference values. the reason of chose this type of transmission line is frequently using. The results indicate that they fall within the safe limiter commended by the World Health Organization. the strength of radiation increasing with high of sea level and moisture ratio because of air ionization

Abstract

Electric power transformers are a very important part of modern electric power and transmission line network systems and they consider as a high level source of electromagnetic fields which can affect the health of workers in station. In this research, electric and magnetic fields caused due to the operation of power distribution substation of 132/33 kV are investigated in order to avoid the overexposure of these fields to workers. Research has been conducted on both the mathematical calculations and practical measurements. The intensities of electric and magnetic fields have been measured at substation by EMF tester device. Safe zones from some equipment have been determined. Comparison the obtained results with the standard safety guideline limits shows that they are within the acceptable limits.

Abstract

The electric arc welding process makes use of the heat produced by theelectric arc to fusion weld metallic pieces. An electric arc is formed when an electric currentpasses between two electrodes separated by a short distance from each other. The aim of thiswork is to determine the electromagnetic field strength emitted by different electrical weldingmachines at different ranges and identify the safe ranges in order to avoid its negative healtheffects on the welder body. The research has been performed in two parts, mathematicalcalculations and practical measurements using (EMF-827) field tester. Both measurementsindicate that these exposure levels lie within permissible international standard limits , but insome very close to the torch the values of magnetic filed are above the standard permissiblevalues, so there is no harm to human health if the exposure is for an intermittent anddiscontinuous periods.

ان ماكنة اللحام الكهربائیة تستخدم الحرارة الناتجة عن القوس الكهربائي في لحام القطع المعدنیة بعد انصهارالمنطقة المراد لحامها . یتشكل القوس الكهربائي عندما یمر تیار كهربائي بین قطبین مفصولین عن بعضها البعضبمسافة قصیرة. إن الهدف من هذا البحث هو تحدید شدة المجالات الكهرومغناطیسیة المنبعثة من مكائن اللحامالكهربائیة ولمدیات مختلفة وتحدید المدیات الآمنة لتجنب الآثار الصحیة السلبیة لهذه المجالات على اللحامین . تم انجازالبحث بطرېقتین،الحسابات الریاضیه و القیاسات العملیه. وقد أشارت البیانات التي حصلنا علیها أنها مطابقة للمعاییرالمسموح بها دولیا الا في بعض المسافات القریبة جدا من اللحام . و هذا یعني انه لا خطورة من التعرض لهذه المجالاتإذا كانت ضمن المستویات والمدیا ت المذكورة ولفترات زمنیة قصیرە متقطعة.
