Abstract

New method for inhibition CO2 corrosion in Iraqi oilfield was used in this work. This new method included using combination of heat treatment of steel and added Aromatic (Tetrahydronaphthalene) compounds as corrosion inhibitor in different concentration (0.05%,0.1%, 0.2%, 0.5% and 1%). The results referred that the weight loss was reduced as inhibitor concentration increased for all conditions of specimens whether, there were heat treated or not. The combination of annealing heat treatment of samples and using Aromatic compoundsinhibitor offered a better corrosion resistance than the combination of quenching + tempering (Q+T) samples. The presence of inhibitor improves the corrosion resistance for annealed samples. For fully annealing, the weight loss was 5 times lesser than that for (Q+T) samples,while the weight loss of steel (as received condition) was 3 times lesser than that for (Q+T)samples.

Seasonal Variations of some Biochemical Aspects for five cultivars of date palm (3-hydrocarbon)

Abstract

The present study showed the seasonal variations in the distribution of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH), n-alkanes and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in five dates cultivars (Ghannmi Akhdar, Ghannmi Ahmar, Khikri, Dekel (g) and Dekel (s)) of date palm male at Abu-Al-Kaseab, Basrah during the period 2008 – 2009. Statistical analysis revealed that leaves of Dekel (s) have high content of TPHs during autumn, while grain pollen have higher content of TPHs in Ghannmi Akhdar during 2008 which is similar in a large extent with 2009. Higher values of n-alkanes and carbon performance index (CPI) were recorded in Dekel (s) leaves during winter. Also, some aromatic compounds have been found in leaves and grain pollen of some cultivars, which their values were differed significantly during some seasons and non-significant throughout study period.

تناولت الدراسة الحالية التغيرات الفصلية في توزيع الهيدروكربونات النفطية الكلية والألكانات الأعتيادية والهيدروكربونات الأروماتية متعددة الحلقات في خمسة أصناف من نخيل التمر الذكرية (الغنامي الأخضر والغنامي الاحمر والخكري ودكل ج ودكل س) في احد بساتين ابي الخصيب في محافظة البصرة للموسمين 2008 – 2009و2009-2010 فقد وجد من التحليل الإحصائي تفوق الصنف دكل س في محتوى الأوراق من الهيدروكاربونات الكلية خلال فصل الخريف. أما في حبوب اللقاح فقد ارتفعت مستويات الهيدروكربونات الكلية في الصنف الغنامي الأخضر للسنة الأولى والذي تشابه إلى حد كبير مع السنة الثانية. أظهرت الأوراق للصنف دكل س ارتفاعا في قيم الالكانات الاعتيادية ودليل تفضيل الكربون خلال فصل الشتاء. يلاحظ أيضا من النتائج ظهور بعض المركبات الاروماتية متعددة الحلقات في أوراق وحبوب لقاح بعض الأصناف، إذ تباينت قيمها خلال بعض المواسم وتماثلت بين سنتي الدراسة.
