Synthesized and Study the Structural and Morphological Properties of Polyaniline-Cadmium Sulfide Nanocomposite

Abstract

The nanocrystalline CdS powder was prepared using sol–gel method. The polyaniline were prepared using chemical oxidative polymerization of aniline. The PANI-CdS nanocomposites had been prepared via same method of polyaniline preparation and different concentrations of CdS (10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 wt%) were added. X-ray diffraction shows that the peaks of emeraldine salt polyaniline powder are located at 2θ = 21.5o, 25.7o and 28.1o which indicate of polycrystalline polyaniline and the peaks of CdS powder are located at 2θ = 26.69, which is indicate of crystalline CdS coincides with hexagonal [002] structure, 2θ = 47.47 which is refers to CdS with hexagonal [103] and cubic [220] structures. The crystallite size of PANI and CdS were found to be 7.95 and 12.09 nm respectively. FTIR measurement indicates that there are interaction between polyaniline matrix and CdS nanoparticles. The AFM investigation shows that there is uniform distribution for CdS nanoparticles in the PANI matrix.

Abstract

Background: Improving the properties of heat- cured and self-cured acrylic resin have been studied by many researchers. However, little studies concerned with visible light cured resin (VLCR) improved through addition of nanofiller are available. The purpose of this study was to evaluate some properties of (VLCR) after addition of SiO2 nanofiller.Materials and Methods: SiO2 nanofiller were added to (VLCR) tray material after being dissolved in tetrahydrofuran (THF) solvent. According to the pilot study 2% SiO2 nanofiller addition exhibited better properties than the other percentages (1%, 3%). The main study conducted involved (100) specimens divided into 5 groups according to the test included. (20) Specimens were selected for each test (10 samples for the control group and 10 samples for the experimental 2% SiO2 nanofiller group). The properties investigated were transverse strength, impact strength, surface hardness, surface roughness, water sorption and solubility. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) were used to assess nanofiller distribution and identification of elements. The data were subjected to descriptive statistical analysis and independent sample t-test.Results: The mean value of transverse strength of experimental group increased significantly, while the impact strength of experimental group decreased significantly when compared to control group. A significant increase in surface hardness was noticed in the experimental group, while non-significant increase in surface roughness was observed. The water sorption values were decreased significantly, while a non-significant decrease in water solubility was observed in the experimental group.Conclusion: Addition of SiO2 nanofiller to (VLCR), slightly improve the transverse strength and surface hardness, while water sorption and solubility slightly decreased. The impact strength was significantly deteriorated, while the surface roughness shows non-significant increment

Abstract

Silver- Poly vinyl alcohol Ag/ PVA nanocomposite films were prepared by casting method at room temperature with different amount of AgNO3 solution (0.001, 0.0015, and 0.002ml). The prepared nanocomposites were characterized using UV–VIS spectrophotometer and the optical properties were investigated in the wavelength range 300-800 nm. The absorption peaks showed a shift towards higher wavelength with increasing AgNO3 concentration while the energy band gap and absorption edges shifted towards lower energies with the increase of AgNO3 concentration.

Abstract

An effort is made to study the effect of composite nanocoating using aluminum-9%wt silicon alloys reinforced with different percentage (0.5,1,2,4)wt.% of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) using plasma spraying. The effect of this composite on corrosion behavior for AA6061-T6 by extrapolation Tafel test in sea water 3.5wt% NaCl was invested. Many specimens where prepared from AA6061-T6 by the dimension (15x15x3)mm as this first set up and other steps include coating process, X-ray diffraction and SEM examination .The results show the CNTs increase the corrosion rate of the nanocomposite coatings with increasing the weight percentage of CNTs within the Al-Si matrix. Al-9wt%Si coating layer itself has less corrosion rate if compared with both nanocomposite coating and the substrate of AA6061-T6.

في هذه الدراسة تم بيان تاثير استخدام انابيب الكاربون النانوية في المواد المتراكبة النانوية من Al-9wt%Si اضيفت انابيب الكاربون النانوية (CNTs) بنسب وزنية wt% (0.5,1,2,4) الى مسحوق من سبيكة الالمنيوم9wt%- سيليكون للحصول على مادة مركبة واستخدامها طلاءً واقيا لسبيكة الالمنيوم- سيليكون- مغنيسيوم (AA6061-T6) بطريقة الرش بالبلازما بعدها تم تصنيع عينات من السبيكة المقواة وبالنسب كافة وغير المقواة لغرض اختبار التاكل وبابعاد (15x15x3) ملم . سبقت عملية اختبار التاكل اختبارات عدة منها الفحص بالاشعة السينية للتعرف على الاطوار والفحص بوساطة المجهر الالكتروني الماسح واختبار التاكل الذي اجري بطريقة استكمال منحني تافل في وسط ماء البحر ومن نتائج اختبار التاكل والتي تمثل التيار والجهد وايجاد معدل التاكل بتطبيق معادلة فراداي لوحظ ان انابيب الكاربون النانوية (CNTs) تزيد من معدل التآلكل لطبقة الطلاء المادة المتراكبة ويزداد معدل التاكل بزيادة النسبة الوزنية لها. طبقة الطلاء Al-9wt%Si تعد اقل معدل تآكل اذا ماتمت المقارنة بينها وبين معدلات تآكل كل من المادة المتراكبة النانوية للطلاء وايضاً لسبيكة الالمنيوم- سيليكون- مغنيسيوم AA6061-T6 .

Abstract

This work aimed to the synthesize of composite Au:CuO (NPs) by pulsed laser soldering process. The optical properties, stability, structural properties and surface morphology of Au:CuO nanocomposite were characterized by UV–VIS spectrophotometer, Zeta potential measurement, X-Ray Diffraction pattern and Atomic Force Microscope respectively. The band gap of Au doped CuO is about 1.95 eV. The amount of zeta potential is -54 mV, its indicating that the negatively charged of Au: CuO nanocomposite in deionized water and the colloid is good stability against aggregation. Surface morphology of Au:CuO nanocomposite show a large number of particles have diameter about 55nm. Au: CuO nanocomposite deposited on porous silicon by drop casting technique for preparation of silicon photodetector, the electrical properties prove that band gap alignment between Au: CuO nanocomposite and PS facilitates the electron transfer and further increases the photoresponsitivity and Quantum efficiency.

Abstract

PMMA/TiO2 homogeneous thin films were deposited by using plasma jet system under normal atmospheric pressure and room temperature. PMMA/TiO2 nanocomposite thin film synthesized by plasma polymerization. Titanium oxide was mixed with Methyl Methacrylate Monomer (MMA) with specific weight ratios (1, 3 and 5 grams of TiO2 per 100 ml of MMA). Optical properties of PMMA/TiO2 nanocomposite thin films were characterized by UV-Visible absorption spectra using a double beam UV-Vis-NIR Spectrophotometer. The thin films surface morphological analysis is carried out by employing SEM. The structure analysis are achieved by X-ray diffraction. UV-Visible absorption spectra shows that the increasing the concentration of titanium oxide added to the polymer leads to shift the peak position (λmax) toward the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. Also the peak width increases when the concentration of TiO2 increases. It can be controlled optical energy band gap of PMMA/TiO2 nanocomposite thin films by changing concentration of TiO2. SEM indicate a uniform distribution of titanium oxide particles in PMMA matrix. The x-ray diffraction pattern indicated that the thin films have amorphous structure.

تم ترسيب أغشية رقيقة متجانسة لمتراكبات إلـ PMMA/TiO2 تم باستخدام تقنية بلازما النفث العاملة تحت الضغط الجوي الاعتيادي وعند درجة حرارة الغرفة. كما أجريت عملية البلمرة لغشاء PMMA/TiO2 موضعيا بالبلازما. تمت عملية التحضير بخلط اوكسيد التيتانيوم مع مونمر المثيل ميتاكريلايت بنسب وزنيه محددة وهي (1 و 3 و 5) غرام من اوكسيد التيتانيوم لكل 100مللتير من المثيل ميتاكريلايت. وتم توصيف الخواص البصرية للأغشية الرقيقة النانوية لمتراكب إلـ PMMA/TiO2بواسطة إلـUV-Visible absorption spectra. وباستخدام تقنية إلـ SEM تم تحليل مورفولوجية السطح. بينما تمت دراسة التركيب البنائي بواسطة حيود الأشعة السينية. أظهر طيف الامتصاص إن زيادة تركيز اوكسيد التيتانيوم المضاف إلى البوليمر يؤدي إلى إزاحة موقع القمة الامتصاص العظمى باتجاه المنطقة تحت الحمراء من الطيف الكهرومغناطيسي. كذلك يظهر زيادة في عرض القمة عند زيادة تركيز اوكسيد التيتانيوم. يمكن التحكم بعرض فجوة الطاقة البصرية لأغشية إلـ PMMA/TiO2 المحضرة بتغيير تركيز إلـ TiO2. كما بينت صورة إلـ SEM توزيعا منتظما للجسيمات في مصفوفة غشاء PMMA. بينما اظهر حيود الأشعة السينية التركيب العشوائي للغشاء المحضر.

Abstract

A new all-photonic switching of nonlinear optical materials with very low signal/noise background was presented. Fe and Mg were used to prepare doped and co-doped PbS/PVA freestanding nanocomposite; films were prepared by a simple chemical method with different doping concentrations. The X-ray diffraction patterns, scanning electron microscope images, and optical absorption spectrum of the prepared films were examined. The crystallinity and optical band gap of the prepared co-doped PbS/PVA were found to be affected by Fe and Mg, doping concentrations. The all prepared samples showed a blue shift in the absorption spectra and the optical band gap was increased when the doping concentration is increased. The all-optical switching effect performance of metal doped and (Fe, Mg) co-doped PbS/PVA with various Fe and Mg concentrations were investigated. The results showed that the (Fe, Mg) co-doped PbS/PVA at 1.2%M Fe and 0.8%M Mg doping concentration can demonstrate an active all-photonic switching device and lead to the realization with maximum modulation depth of 86.5% and switching contrast of 8.8 dB at minimum switching time of 47 ms.

تم تقديم مفتاح فوتوني جديد من مواد لاخطية بصرية باقل نسبة الاشارة الى الضوضاء في الاخراج. حيث تم تحضير المركب النانوي كبريتيد الرصاص/بولي فينايل الكحول (PbS/PVA) باستخدام طريقة كيميائية بسيطة بنسب تشويب مختلفة من المعدنين Fe و Mg. تم تشخيص تلك النماذج المحضرة بواسطة حيود الاشعة السينية XRD ومجهر المسح الالكتروني SEM وطيف الامتصاص الضوئي UV-vis. النتائج اظهرت ان التبلورية وفجوة الطاقة البصرية تتأثران بتغير نسبة التشويب (Fe و Mg). كما اظهرت كل النماذج المحضرة ازاحة نحو الطول الموجي الاقل في طيف الامتصاص عند زيادة نسبة التشويب وان فجوة الطاقة البصرية تزداد بزيادة تركيز التشويب. وان اداء تاثير المفتاح الفوتوني للمركب النانوي المحضر تم التحري عنه. حيث اثبتت النتائج ان المركب النانوي PbS/PVA المشوب بنسب مختلفة من معدن Fe و Mg عند التركيز 1.2%M و 0.8%M، على التوالي يمكن ان يساق كجهاز مفتاح فوتوني فعال وهذا ادى الى ان تحقيقه كجهاز بأعلى عمق تضمين 86.5% وتباين 8.8 dB باقل زمن مفتاحي 47 ms..
