Abstract

Indium oxide and indium tin oxide composite (ITO) were prepared by sol-gel dip-coating (SGDC) technique. The particles annealed at (200 ◦C, 400 ◦C). The structure and surface morphology of particles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), FT-IR and UV/visible measurements. The XRD and AFM indicate decreasing in the particle size and improve of optical and electrical properties of composite with increasing of tin oxide addition. The hall measurement were used to obtain information about the type of conductivity of indium oxide and indium tin oxide thin films and carrier concentration and mobility and resistivity, the results of Hall measurements show that the In2O3 and ITO composite have n-type. The thin film of composite ITO at composition (80:20) mole ratio has high sensitivity toward CO gas compared with pure indium oxide.

Atmosphere and Annealing Effect on the Structural, Optical and Electrical Properties of Indium Tin Oxide

Abstract

Indium-doped tin oxide In2Sn2O7 thin films were deposited on Superior w. Germany glass substrate by RF magnetron sputtering technique using a popular ceramic target with a combination of In 8 wt. % and SnO2 at a working pressure of 4.2×10-3 Torr and radio frequency power of 100 W. These films were post-annealed at temperatures from 200 oC to 400 oC for one hour by both oxygen atmosphere and vacuum furnace. The resulting films were studied by X-ray diffraction reveals a polycrystalline structure of In2Sn2O7 phase formation, with diffraction peaks related to the cubic phase structure of In2Sn2O7 according to JCPDS card 391058. The post-annealing atmospheric effects on microstructural, electrical and optical properties of In2Sn2O7 films were determined. The results assure that at a higher annealing temperature, the crystallinity of In2Sn2O7 films was enhanced, the optical transmittance of In2Sn2O7 thin films was increased over 90% at 650 nm in the oxygen atmosphere, compared to 85% at 680 nm, for the same annealing temperature in the vacuum atmosphere. The resistivity of In2Sn2O7 thin films was increased with advanced annealing temperatures in the both vacuum and oxygen atmosphere furnace.

Abstract

We have studied the effect of annealing at (550,600) °C on absorption coefficient , optical transmission, Reflectance, optical conductivity and optical energy gap for (SnO2) 1-x (CO) x with (x=0.01) deposited on preheated glass substrates at a temperature of (500 °C) by chemical pyrolysis technique were performed . These films show direct allowed inter band transition that influenced by annealing at (550,600) °C for two hours . From the analysis of the absorption and transmission spectra in the wavelength range (350-900nm). The results show that all these parameters were affected by annealing.

تم دراسة تأثير التلدين بدرجة حرارة °C (550,600) على معامل الامتصاص ،النفاذية البصرية , الانعكاسية ،التوصيلية الضوئية وفجوة الطاقة البصرية لأغشية SnO2) 1-x (CO) x) وبنسبة (X=0.01) , المرسبة على قواعد زجاجية مسخنة لدرجة (500°C) والمحضرة بسمك (nm 400) بطريقة التحلل الكيميائي الحراري . أظهرت هذه الأغشية فجوة طاقة مباشرة مسموحة متأثرة بالتلدين بدرجة حرارة ,600) °C 550) ولمدة ساعتين . ومن تحليل طيف الامتصاصية والنفاذية في مدى الأطوال الموجية (350-900nm) . أظهرت النتائج بأن كافة هذه المعلمات قد تغيرت بسبب التلدين.
