Abstract

We present an experimental evidence of the effect of the femtosecond laser pulses on the spectral response of the Silicon photovoltaic cell. The response of this device is covering the visible to near infrared spectral region. The responsivity of the photovoltaic solar cell is enhanced from 0.18A/W to 0.25A/W and/or the conversion efficiency increase from about 9% to about 14% due to irradiation effect. All treatments and measurements are made at room temperature. Results show that the responsivity is enhanced and the nano-structured groves of the 700-900 nm range are observed.

Abstract

The proper condition of the emulsion liquid membrane (ELM) technique for the recovery and concentration of copper (II) from model water is investigated. The ELM is a solution of di (2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid in kerosene and sorbitan monooleate Span 80 as surfactant. The extraction efficiency of the metallic ion in the ELM in batch tests is determined. The results show good extraction percentage in relatively period of time (15 minutes) under the following conditions: pH of the feed is 8; feed concentration of 500 ppm, carrier concentration of di (2-ethyl-hexyl) phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) 4% and treatment ratio (volume of external phase to volume of emulsion phase) of 2.

الظروف المثلى لتقنية الغشاء النفاذي السائل لازالة وتركيز النحاس الثنائي التكافؤ قد اختبرت في هذه الدراسة. يتكون الغشاء النفاذي السائل من محلول داي(2- ايثايل هكسايل) حامض الفوسفوريك في النفط الابيض والمادة السطحية سوربيتون مونولييت (سبان 80). كفاءة الاستخلاص للمعدن النحاس الثنائي التكافؤ في تقنية الغشاء النفاذي السائل باستخدام نظام دفعي قد استخدمت. اوضحت النتائج نسبة استخلاص جيدة في وقت قصير يقدر بـ( 15) دقيقة بالظروف التالية: الدالة الحامضية (8) ، تركيز الداخل (500 ملغم /لتر)، تركيز الحامل (4%) ونسبة المعاملة (2).

Abstract

The corrosion of zinc in 4 M HCl by has been investigated at room temperature, and at different temperatures using weight loss measurements, and inhibited by using ciprofloxacin drug. Results obtained showed that ciprofloxacin is a convenient inhibitor and its inhibition efficiency (IE %) increased with the increase of inhibitor concentration. The best temperature which showed the lowest corrosion rate values was at 318K.The mechanism of adsorption had been explained on the basis of chemical structure of the investigated inhibitor. It was found that the protection of zinc metal using this corrosion inhibitor is not complicated at room temperature, and the optimum concentration of inhibitor has been calculated which had showed the maximum surface coverage.

لقد تم دراسة تآكل معدن الخارصين في محلول 4 مولاري حامض الهيدروكلوريك وفي درجات حرارية مختلفة باستخدام طريقة النقص في الوزن، وقد تم تثبيط تآكل الخارصين باستخدام دواء السبروفلوكساسين، وقد بينت الدراسة ان دواء السبروفلوكساسين كان مثبطاُ جيداً، وان نسبة كفاءة التثبيط قد ازدادت بازدياد تركيز المثبط. لقد كانت درجة الحرارة المثلى والتي كانت فيها اقل قيمة لمعدل التآكل هي 318 كلفن. تم دراسة ميكانيكية الامتزاز على اساس التركيب الكيميائي للمثبط، ولقد كانت حماية معدن الخارصين وامتزازه على سطح المعدن عملية غير معقدة ولقد كان تركيز الدواء الامثل هو 300 جزء من المليون والذي اظهر اكبر تغطية لسطح المعدن.

Abstract

Researcher design an ionic system to adsorb ions from industrial water of companies and factories, system consisted of three integrated phases designed to test the efficiency of an unspecified number of residues of food as adsorb materials. We adsorb copper and cobalt ions, these ions are available at high rates in Al Musayab thermal station, high concentration of these ions pose a threat to the health of the population. In general, the presence of these ions in the proportions set by the World Health Organization, namely, (1mg/L) are very useful for the completion of the metabolic processes of the living cell, but a greater focus for this will lead to tremendous health risks. Testing processes proved that there is an exact match between empirical testes and typical results of (Freundlich and Langmuir) models, through the mathematical analysis of the trial data under different thermal conditions, all testes proved that (husks of sunflower) is the best hypertext filtered materials for its high adsorption efficiency which equal to (71%) with enthalpy equal to (33KJ/mol), followed in the second place (peel peanuts), these peels proved have an excellent efficiency which equal to (72%) with enthalpy equal to (-14.8KJ/mol). In general, food remnants which have been selected for testing on an ion adsorption system designed by researcher have high capacity to adsorb various ionic roots of industrial water of Al-Musayab thermal station.

قام الباحث بتصميم منظومه الامتزاز الايونى لمياه الشركات والمصانع, المنظومه تتكون من ثلاث مراحل متكامله مصممه لاختبار كفاءة عدد غير محدد من مخلفات المواد الغذائيه كمواد ممتزه, تم امتزاز ايونى النحاس والكوبالت والمتوفره بنسب عاليه فى مياه محطة المسيب الحراريه وهذايشكل خطرا على حياة الكائنات الحيه بشكل عام. وجود تلك الايونات ملغم/لتر) مفيدة جدا لاتمام العمليات الايضيه للخلية الحيه ولكن زيادة 1بالنسب التى حددتها منظمة الصحة العالميه وهى ( التركيز عن ذلك يؤدى الى مخاطر صحيه هائله. اثبتت نتائج الاختبار التطابق التام بين الفحوصات العمليه ونتائج نموذجى (لانكمير وفراندلج) النظريه وذلك من خلال التحليل الرياضى لمعطيات التجربه وتحت الظروف الحراريه المختلفه. نتائج LANGMUIR & FREUNDLIC التطابق مع الموديلات الرياضيه ( ) اثبتت ان الماده الممدصه (قشور زهرة الشمس) H 71 هى افضل ماده مفلتره لكفائتها العاليه فى الامتزاز ( -) كيلوجول/مول. يليها فى المرتبه 33 %) ومحتواها الحرارى الكامن ( 63 الثانيه قشور فستق العبيد الذى اثبت انها ذات كفاءة ممتازه ( %) ومحتوى حرارى كامن يساوى (- ) كيلوجول/مول. 14.8 وعليه فبشكل عام تعتبر مخلفات المواد الغذائيه التى تم اختيارها للاختبار فى منظومة الامتزاز والتى صممت من قبل الباحث ذات قدره عاليه على امتزاز مختلف الجذور الايونيه للمعادن الفلزيه الذائبه فى مياه محطة المسيب الحراريه.

Abstract

This study was to investigate study the effect of adding the aqueous extract of clove(Eugenia caryophyllus) by two different levels to drink water to improve the productiveefficiency and some physiological characteristics of the broiler.The study was carried out on 180 chicks of Hubbard at one day old. They weredivided randomly into three groups (60 bird in each group) with three replicates for eachgroup (20 bird for each replicate. In this experment, the bird was given two types ofdiets, the first diet was a starter that has been feeding on the 1-2٢ day age-old , whereasthe second diet was finisher that has been feeding on 2٣-4٨ day age-old.The experimental treatments divided into three groups. In control group, birds drink freewater without any addition. In group T1, birds received 1% of aqueous extract of cloveflower in drinking water, whereas group T2 received 5% of aqueous extract of cloveflower in drinking water.The current study showed a significant improvement (p <0.05) in the productionefficiency of birds. Its included weight of the body, weight gain, feed conversion ratio,feed and water consumption rate, decrease in mortality rate and improvement in someblood traits including haemoglobin, white blood cell WBC, packed cell volume PCVintreatment groups(T1, T2) compared with control group. As well as the results showed asignificant decrease (P <0.05) in the glucose level, cholesterol, urea and creatinine in both166of treatment groups compared with the control group that intake water free from anaqueous extract of clove.From this study, we concluded that adding of aqueous extract of clove flower atdifferent concentrations led to improved productive and physiological effects of broilerchicken.

Abstract

This study aimed to estimate the economic efficiency of economic recourses that used in Rice production. Estimation was achieved by comparing the optimal quantities of resources and the used quantities. 30 farmers were involved in this questioner study in Najaf Province in 2016 growing season. The project depends on economic efficiency assessment and separating its components into technical and special efficiencies based on data envelop analysis. Optimal input sample under fixed and changed output of the capacity in counting the technical efficiency, and changed output of the capacity in counting special and expense efficiencies. Capacity average reaches 0.89, which led to a reverse relationship with family size and in line with relationship with the cultivation experience. The technical efficiency average was 0.90 which is an evidence on that these farmers able to obtain the same level of drop production by using 90% of production expenses with keeping the same production level. Expenses efficiency average was 0.67, which is an evidence on the reverse relationship between family size and positive with years of farming experience. Although the cultivated areas were increased the cultivating economic efficiency was decreased, which means crop production decreases that causes a rising in the economic inputs. This study recommends that using the production expenses according to the scientifically recommended quantity and ways, especially, seed quantity and fertilizer that are suitable for each crop to reach the optimal efficiency.

هدف البحث الى تقدير الكفاءة الاقتصادية لاستخدام الموارد الاقتصادية لإنتاج الشلب بفروعها التقنية والتخصيصية ، وكذلك هدف الى إجراء مقارنة بين الكميات المثلى والكميات الفعلية من الموارد المستخدمة ، جمعت البيانات بصورة استمارة استبيان من 30 مزارع للمحصول في محافظة النجف الاشرف لسنة 2016 ، وقد اعتمد البحث في تحقيق أهدافه على تقدير الكفاءة الاقتصادية وفصل مكوناتها الى كفاءة تقنية وكفاءة تخصيصية على تحليل مغلف البيانات حيث تم استخدام نموذج التوجيه الإدخالي في ظل العائد الثابت والمتغير للسعة في حساب الكفاءة التقنية والعائد المتغير للسعة في حساب الكفاءة التخصيصية وكفاءة الكلفة . أذ بلغ متوسط كفاءة السعة 89 % ، كما وبلغ متوسط الكفاءة التقنية نحو 90 % وهذا يدل على أن مزارعي العينة يمكنهم تحقيق المستوى نفسه من الإنتاج باستخدام 90% من موارد الإنتاج مع الحفاظ على مستوى الإنتاج الحالي ، وان كفاءة الكلفة التي بلغ متوسطها نحو 67 % مما يدل على ان العينة تتحمل تكاليف اضافية مقدارها 33 % إذ توصل البحث الى العديد من النتائج المرتبطة بالكفاءة الاقتصادية منها هناك هدر بالموارد الاقتصادية مما يترتب عليه زيادة التكاليف وعليه يوصي البحث باستخدام مدخلات الإنتاج بالكمية والكيفية الموصى بها علميا وخاصة كمية البذور والأسمدة بما يتلائم مع احتياج المحصول للوصول إلى درجة كفاءة مثلى.

Abstract

Crude oil desalting is the first processing step in a refinery. The objectives of crude desalting are the removal of salts, solids, and the formation of water from unrefined crude oil before the crude is introduced in the crude distillation unit of the refinery. The experimental work is divided into three schemes covering the effect of surfactant dosage, test different types of surfactants, and the effect of salt content on desalting efficiency. The results show that the crude oil desalting efficiency, increased with increasing surfactant quantity., The results indicate that desalting efficiency has lowered with increasing the salt content in crude oil. Also, the results show that the best solvent was toluene, and the best mixing ratio of solvent was 10 Vol. %.

Abstract

Aim of current study was to demonstrate the reproductive efficiency of female rabbits treated experimentally with Ricinus communis. 32, local breed rabbits, weighing 1- 2 kg, of 1-2 years old, 16 rabbits of either sex. 8 rabbits of either sex were treated with Ricinus extract, 50 mg /kg b. wt. PO, daily for 14 days. The remaining rabbits were left without treatment. In day 14th post treatment, one female was cross to one male in separated cages, as follow: rabbits of the 1st group represented treated females, crossed with treated males. Rabbits of 2nd group represented none treated females, crossed with none treated males Those of 3rd group represented treated females, crossed with none treated males. And those of 4th group represented none treated female crossed with treated males. The mixing continued for 1 week. After crossing with the males, all females were examined by sonar weekly for pregnancy, for 4 weeks. 8 females, 2 from each group, were subjected to euthanasia using chloroform - soaked cotton at day 28 post crossing; each rabbit was lapratomized, and the uterine horns incised, the number of implantation sites was recorded. The remaining females remained, till normal birth and the number of babies delivered by each rabbit were recorded. Body weight significantly increased in both treated and none treated female. Body temperature significantly increased in treated females. Respiratory and heart rates none significantly increased in both treated and none treated females. Bleeding time decreased significantly in treated females. Clotting time not significant changed. Total erythrocytes count and hemoglobin concentration, Packed Cell Volumes (PCV%), Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV, Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin (MCH), Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin Concentration (MCHC), Total leucocytes count not significant changed. Monocytes (M%), Basophils (B%) not significant changed. Eosinophils (E%), Heterophils (H%) significantly decreased in treated females. Lymphocytes (L%) increased significantly in treated females. The results revealed significant decreases in percentage of fertility in females treated with Ricinus extract. As females treated with ricin and crossed with males treated with ricin were none pregnant (0%). The effect of treatment with Ricinus extract for 14 days, on reproductive efficiency of rabbits, did not affect the length of pregnancy, as the period remain 30-32 days. There was significant decrease in fetus numbers in female treated with Ricinus, and those crossed with treated male in comparison with those of none treated female and male.

Abstract

The paper were carried on rice farmers in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf province. It aimed for studying economical efficiency for a random stratified sample of 5%. 235 forms brand have been collected. The paper depended, to maintain its aims, on using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) upon the production and costs functions of farms of the research sample under discussion. Many conclusions have been achieved The results of estimating the technical efficiency upon production function refer that the jasmine Anbar 33, Anbar Al Baraka, 84.2%, 88.9%, 86.4%. The total economic efficiency of these cultivars were 30, 26 and 10, respectively Depending on the variables of the costs function, the results of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) showed that the economical, technical, and Allocative average efficiency of jasmine brand farms were 84.2%, 70.2%, and 60% respectively. While farm of Anbar brand 33, the economical, technical, and allocative average efficiency were about 88.9%, 70.7%, and 79.1% respectively. Finally, the technical, economical, and allocative average efficiency for Anbar AL Baraka brand farmers were 86.4%, 84.9, and 73.9% respectively.

نفذ البحث على مزارعي الرز في محافظة النجف الاشرف وهدف البحث الى دراسة الكفاءة الاقتصادية لعينة طبقية عشوائية شكلت نسبة 5% حيث تم جمع 235 استمارة واعتمد البحث في تحقيق أهدافه على استخدام اسلوب تحليل مغلف البيانات (DEA) Data Envelopment Analysis على وفق دالتي الإنتاج والتكاليف لمزارع عينة البحث. وقد تم التوصل الى مجموعة من الاستنتاجات حيث أشارت نتائج تقدير الكفاءة التقنية وفق دالة الإنتاج لمزارع الرز صنف الياسمين وعنبر33 وعنبر البركة 84.2% 88.9% 86.4% على الترتيب وكان عدد المزارعين المحققين للكفاءة الاقتصادية الكاملة لهذه الأصناف هي 30، 26، 10 مزارع على الترتيب كما بينت نتائج (DEA) وبالاعتماد على متغيرات دالة التكاليف. فقد كان متوسط الكفاءة التقنية والاقتصادية والتخصيصية لمزارعي صنف الياسمين بنحو 84.2% و70.2% و60% على الترتيب وهذا يدل على ان إعادة توزيع الموارد الاقتصادية سوف توفر تكاليف بنسبة 15.8% و29.8% و40% على الترتيب. اما مزارعي صنف عنبر33 فقد كان متوسط الكفاءة التقنية والاقتصادية والتخصيصية نحو 88.9% و70.7% و79.1% على الترتيب وأخيرا فقد بلغ متوسط الكفاءة التقنية والاقتصادية والتخصيصية لمزارعي صنف عنبر البركة 86.4% و84.9% و73.9% على الترتيب.

Abstract

Abstract:In order to identify the weaknesses and imbalances in the process of production, distribution and consumption of potable water and finding suitable solutions, the efficiency of drinking water services in the judiciary has been assessed as its quality efficiency has been assessed and found within the limits allowed by the Ministries of Health and Environment. The quantitative efficiency of production and consumption was assessed as less than the standard for drinking water demand in the district, district and village centers. The study included the future prospects for drinking water production and consumption in Mahaweel district until 2030.

الملخص: يهدف البحث الوقوف على اماكن الضعف والخلل في عملية انتاج وتوزيع واستهلاك المياه الصالحة للشرب وايجاد الحلول الملائمة لها فقد تم تقييم كفاءة خدمات مياه الشرب في القضاء اذ تم تقييم كفائتها النوعية ووجدنا انها ضمن الحدود المسموح بها من قبل وزارتي الصحة والبيئة العراقية. وتم تقييم الكفاءة الكمية للانتاج والاستهلاك فتبين انها اقل من المعيار المخصص للطلب على مياه الشرب في مراكز الاقضيه والنواحي والقرى وتضمنت الدراسة التوقعات المستقبلية لانتاج المياه الصالحة للشرب واستهلاكها في قضاء المحاويل لغاية عام 2030 م.
