Abstract

In the present work Polystyrene (PS) polymer doped with DCM laser dye thin films have been preparedon glass substrate using casting method. The final samples of PS doped with DCM thin films were treated withdifferent annealing temperatures at (30, 40, 50, 60) oC. Optical absorption and transmission spectra of the preparedthin films were recorded using UV-VIS double beam spectrometer in the wavelength range from 190 to 1100 nm.The results shown that the allowed direct electronic transitions energy gap increased from 2.08 up to 2.25e.V as thetemperature increasing from 30 to 60oC, whereas the allowed indirect electronic transition energy gap increase from2.02 up to 2.17 eV as the temperature increase from 30 to 60oC. The effect of temperature on the optical propertiessuch as Urbach’s energy, Refractive index, Extinction coefficient, Critical angle, Brewster angle, and Finessecoefficient of PS doped with DCM thin films also studied in this work.

Abstract

AbstractThis study is to characterize the optical properties of PVA doped copper acetate salt. Thinfilms of PVA doped with copper acetate were prepared using solution casting method. The opticalabsorption spectra of synthesized thin films were recorded at room temperature over a wavelengthrange of ۱۹۰-۱۱00 nm using UV-VIS double beam spectrometer. From the spectral data the opticalconstants such as energy band gap (both allowed and forbidden), Urbach’s energy, refractive indexand extinction coefficient were determined. The variation of energy band gap on doping is explainedon the basis of incorporation of charge transfer complexes by the dopant. The optical studies haveled to a variety of interesting thin film optical phenomenon, which have thrown considerable light onthe band structure of solids and phonic states.

الخلاصةالمطعم بملح خلات النحاس. حضرت الاغشیة الرقیقة بطریقة PVA ھذه دراسة لخصائص الخواص البصریة لبولیمرالصب. وتم قیاس اطیاف الامتصاص لھذه الاغشیة بدرجة حرارة الغرفة وبطول موجي من ۱۹۰ الى ۱۱۰۰ نانومتر بواسطة جھازقیاس المطیافیة ثم حسبت منھا الثوابت البصریة مثل طاقة الفجوة للانتقالات المباشرة المسموحة والممنوعة وطاقة اورباخ ومعاملالانكسار ومعامل الاخماد. ان الاختلاف الذي ظھر في فجواة الطاقة البصریة وضح اساسیات الاندماج لمركبات الشحنة المنتقلةبواسطة التطعیم. وان دراسة خواص الامتصاص ادت الى مجموعة مختلفة ومشوقة من الظواھر البصریة للاغشیة الرقیقة التيالقت الضوء على البنیة التركیبیة للمواد الصلبة وحالة الصوت.
