المقدمة:تعد شخصية السيد محمد بحر العلوم كشخصية إسلامية دينية فكرية علمية، وينتمي الى اسرة بحر العلوم، وهي من الأسر العلوية الحسنية التي انجبت الكثير من مراجع الدين والعلماء والأدباء والوجهاء والسياسيين ، ونشأ السيد محمد بحر العلوم وترعرع في هذه البيئة وقد تأثر بأسلافه وأعلامها وشهداء الأسرة منذ بواكير حياته، وورث الرؤية العلمية والفكرية والأدبية من أعلام الأسرة فقد ورث الزعامة الدينية والمكانة الاجتماعية من والده السيد علي بحر العلوم.تأثر السيد محمد بحر العلوم بالبيئة الفكرية للنجف الأشرف، فقد تحمل مسؤوليته الشرعية والأخلاقية للتصدي للحركات الفكرية المعادية للإسلام، والمدعومة من الغرب للوقوف بوجه الحوزة العلمية، وبدعم المرجع الأعلى الإمام محسن الحكيم كان السيد محمد بحر العلوم من العاملين على تنوير الشباب فكريا من خلال قراءة الكتب الإسلامية، مستفيدا من المكانة الاجتماعية لأسرة بحر العلوم على نحو عام ، ولوالده السيد علي بحر العلوم على نحو خاص، من خلال مجالسهم العلمية والفكرية والأدبية والسياسية في النجف الأشرف والعراق. كانت الحوزة العلمية في النجف الأشرف المحافظة على طابعها الفكري الإسلامي، قد اثرت على شخصيته العلمية والادبية، التي انعكست اثارها على دراسته الحوزوية والاكاديمية فتوجت جهوده بحصوله على شهادتي الماجستير والدكتوراه في الشريعة الاسلامية، وله العديد من المشاركات في المؤتمرات والندوات، ودعم تأسيس الجمعيات والمؤسسات العلمية والأدبية والسياسية، حتى أضحى من رواد حركة النهضة العلمية والأدبية والفكرية في العراق.الكلمات المفتاحية: السيد محمد بحر العلوم – التكوين العلمي – العراق – النجف الأشرف – الإمام محسن الحكيم – الدراسة الحوزوية – النهضة العلمية.
