The Association Between Adiponectin with Lipid Profile and Troponin in Acute Myocardial Infarction Patients

Abstract

ABSTRACT:BACKGROUND:Adiponectin is thought to be exclusively synthesized by adipocytes; however, a recent suggestionstated that adiponectin is also synthesized and secreted by human cardiomyocytes. Adipose tissueis increasingly recognized as a key regulator of energy balance, playing an active role in lipidstorage and buffering, and synthesizing and secreting a wide range of endocrine products that maybe directly involved in the pathogenesis of the complications associated with obesity. So obesityconsider the major independent risk factor for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease AcuteMyocardial Infarction (AMI), is the interruption of blood supply to part of the heart, causing someheart cells to die. Insulin is a very important hormone as it regulates the level of glucose, in theblood. Troponin is a complex of three regulatory proteins that is integral to muscle contraction inskeletal and cardiac muscle.OBJECTIVE:To monitor adiponectin level and its effect on lipid profile and Troponin levels in AcuteMyocardial infarction patients.SUBJECTS AND METHODS:The study included 50 patients with Acute Myocardial infarction and forty healthy subject ascontrol group. This study designed to measure adiponectin, lipid profile and troponin levels.RESULTS:Levels of adiponectin, cholesterol, LDL-C and Troponin were significantly elevated with(p<0.001), while HDL-C was significantly lower with (p<0.001), There was negative correlationbetween adiponectin with , cholesterol LDL-C, triglyceride and VLDL, and there was positivecorrelation between adiponectin with HDL in acute myocardial infarction.CONCLUSION:The significant increase in adiponectin in AMI may be related to inflammation. From the relationof adiponectin with lipid profile, adiponectin can increase level of HDL and decrease level oftriglyceride so this suggested that adiponection have anti-atherosclerosis properties

Abstract

Methimazole used to control the symptoms of hyperthyroidism associated with Graves' disease , and to maintain patients in a euthyroid state for several years, until spontaneous remission occurs Methimazole developed in 1949, that is widely used in the treatment of hyperthyroidism. The usual starting dose is 10–30 mg/day, given orally as a single daily dose. This study conducted during the period from July 2012 to September 2013. This study includes fourty patients with hyperthyroidism that divided into two groups: group (A) which included twenty patients treated with methimazole and group (B) which included twenty patients without treatment. All patients admitted to the Baghdad Hospital. Subject matched in age, sex and BMI. In this study: urea, creatinine, albumin, glucose were determined by enzymatic method. The results of group (A) show that were significant elevation in Albumin level while there is significant decrease in glucose level. Negative correlation was found between methimazole treatment with glucose, while there was positive correlation between Methimazole treatment and albumin. The results show a negative correlation between glucose and methimazole treatment that lead to consider methimazole suitable treatment for patient with hyperthyroidism that have family history with diabetes mellitus.

ميثيمازول يستخدم للسيطرة على أعراض فرط نشاط الدرق والحفاظ على المرضى في حالة السواء الدرقي لعدة سنوات، حتى تحدث معالجة فسيولوجية. ميثيمازول صنع في عام 1949، والذي يستخدم على نطاق واسع في علاج فرط نشاط الدرق. الجرعة المعتادة في البداية هي 10-30 ملغ / يوم، يعطى عن طريق الفم كجرعة واحدة يوميا. هذه الدراسة أجريت خلال الفترة من يوليو 2012 إلى سبتمبر 2013. شملت هذه الدراسة اربعين مريضا يعانون من فرط الغدة الدرقية وقسم المرضى الى مجموعتين: المجموعة (A) والتي شملت عشرين مريض تم علاجهم مع ميثمازول و المجموعة B)) والتي شملت عشرين المرضى دون علاج. تم جمع النماذج من المرضى في مستشفى بغداد. تم قياس: اليوريا، والكرياتينين، الزلال، وتم تحديد نسبة الجلوكوز عن طريق الطرق الأنزيمية. نتائج المجموعة(A) إظهارت ارتفاع ملحوظا في مستوى الزلال في حين أن هناك انخفاضا ملحوظ في مستوى الجلوكوز. وجد ارتباط سلبي بين العلاج ميثيمازول مع الجلوكوز، بينما كان هناك ارتباط إيجابي بين علاج الميثيمازول والزلال. وأظهرت النتائج وجود علاقة عكسية بين نسبة الجلوكوز والعلاج ميثيمازول التي تؤدي إلى النظر ميثيمازول علاج مناسب للمريض مع فرط الغدة الدرقية الذين لديهم تاريخ عائلي مع مرض السكري.

Abstract

ABSTRACT:BACKGROUND:Inflammatory responses are involved in the initiation and progression of atherosclerotic plaques.Myocardial Infarction (MI) is most commonly due to occlusion of a coronary artery following therupture of a vulnerable atherosclerotic plaque. It has been suggested that the adipose tissue mayplay an important role in mediating this chronic inflammatory process. Resistin is a cysteine-richpolypeptide that is expressed at relatively lower levels in human adipocytes but higher levels inmacrophages. Troponin is found in cardiac muscle and used for diagnosis of AMI.OBJECTIVE:To investigate the level of resistin and its effect on lipid profile and Troponin I levels in acutemyocardial infarction patients.SUBJECT AND METHODS:The study included 50 patients with AMI and forty healthy subjects as control group. In this studyresistin , lipid profile and Troponin I were measured.RESULTS:The levels of resistin, cholesterol, LDL-C were significantly elevated with (p<0.001), while HDLCwas significantly lower with (p<0.001), there was positive correlation between resistin withcholesterol, LDL-C, triglyceride and VLDL, while there was negative correlation betweenresistin with HDL in acute myocardial infarction.CONCLUSION:There was a significant increase in resistin level, in acute myocardial infarction patients and thisincrease may be related to inflammation. Resistin negatively correlated with HDL and positivelycorrelated with triglyceride and LDL this relationship makes us consider this hormone as possibleatherosclerotic factor

Abstract

Adipose tissue is increasingly recognized as a key regulator of energy balance, playing an active role in lipid storage and buffering, and synthesizing and secreting a wide range of endocrine products that may be directly involved in the pathogenesis of the complications associated with obesity the most important adiposcyte deviated hormone is adiponectin. Insulin is a hormone that is central to regulating the energy and glucose metabolism in the body. Troponin is a complex of three regulatory proteins that is integral to muscle contraction in skeletal and cardiac muscle.This study was conducted during the period from Decenber2009 to April 2010, includes fifty patients with Acut Myocardial Infarction (AMI) were admitted to Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) at Medical City Teaching Hospital and Ibn –ALbetar Hospital in Baghdad. Levels of adiponectin, insulin and troponin were measured by ELISA method.The levels of adiponectin, insulin and troponin were significantly elevated with (p<0.001), A negatively significant correlation between adiponectin with insulin and troponin in acute myocardial infarction patients was found.Adiponectin was negatively associated with insulin in patients with AMI

النسيج الدهني يُعْرَفُ على نحو متزايد كمنظّم رئيسي لميزانِ الطاقةِ، يَلْعبُ دوراً نشيطاً في خزنِ الدهون و ويفرز تشكيلة واسعة من المُنتَجاتِ الإفرازيةِ التي قَدْ تُشتَركُ في النشوء المرضي لكثير مِنْ التعقيداتِ المرتبطة بصورة مباشرة بالسمنةِ من اهم المركبات التي يفرزها النسيج الدهني هرمون adiponectin. الأنسيولين هو الهورمون الذي ينظيم أيضِ الجلوكوزَ والطاقةَ في الجسمِ. Troponin هو مركّب مِنْ ثلاثة بروتينِات تنظيم الإنكماشِ العضلي في العضلات الهيكليةِ والقلبيةِ.تَضمّنتْ الدراسةُ 50 مريضُ بالذبحة الصدرية اما المجموعة المسيطرة فقد تضمنت أربعون من الأشخاص الأصحاء. مستويات adiponectin والأنسيولينِ و troponin تم قياسهامستويات adiponectin والأنسولين و troponin كانت مرتفة بشكل معنوي (p <0.001)، كان هناك إرتباطُ سلبي ُبين adiponectin والأنسولين و troponin في مرضى الذبحةّ الصدرية.وجود زيادة معنوية في مستويات adiponectin، في مرضى الذبحةّ الصدرية وهذه قَد تكون مُتَعَلّقة بالالتهاب. هنالك علاقة عكسية بينadiponectin والأنسولين.

Abstract

The erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) is commonly used to assess the acute phase of the inflammatory response and to diagnose conditions associated with acute and chronic inflammation, including infections, cancers, and autoimmune diseases. Packed Cell Volume (PCV) is the height of the red cell column to the total height of the column of whole blood. This study included 100 healthy subject divided into two groups: females group (50) and males group (50). The increase in Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (E.S.R) was higher in women group than in men group. The result showed a negative correlation between the Packed Cell Volume (PCV) and ESR while there was a positive correlation between ESR with age and glucose.

معدل ترسيب كريات الدم: يستعمل لقياس استجابة الجسم في حالة الالتهاب للمساعدة في تشخيص الامراض المرتبطة بالالتهابات الحادة و المزمنة وتشمل هذه الامراض (العدوى والسرطان و امراض المناعة الذاتية). حجم الخلايا المضغوط: هو ارتفاع مستوى كريات الدم الحمراء في الانبوب الشعري ويقاس بالمقارنة مع الارتفاع الكلي للعامود. تضمنت الدراسة 100 نموذج تم تقسيمها الى مجموعتين:- مجموعة النساء وتضمنت 50 نموذج ومجموعة الرجال وتضمنت 50 نموذج لتحري التغير في مستويات معدل سرعة ترسب كريات الدم الحمراء وحجم الخلايا المضغوطه للدم بين النساء والرجال مع التقدم في العمر. حيث اظهرت النتائج ان معدل زيادة سرعة ترسيب كريات الدم الحمراء كانت اكثرعند النساء، كما اظهرت النتائج علاقه عكسية بين حجم الخلايا المضغوطه مع معدل ترسيب كريات الدم بينما هنالك علاقه طردية بين سرعة ترسيب كريات الدم الحمراء مع العمر ومستوى الكلوكوز في الدم.

Abstract

A new ligand 4-methylbenzyl (2E)-2-[1-(pyridin-3-yl) ethylidene] hydrazinecarbodithioate (PE4MBHC) with nitrogen sulphur donor sequence was prepared from the reaction between 1-(pyridin-3-yl)ethanone (PE) and 4-methylbenzyl hydrazinecarbodithioate (4MBHC). Complexes of this ligand with Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) were synthesized and characterized using elemental analysis and various physicochemical techniques. The metal complexes were six coordinated and all the new compounds were tested against different bacteria and fungi and also against two breast cancer cells. All metal complexes showed moderate activity against microbes while copper and nickel shows strong activity against MCF7 and MDAMB231 respectively
