Abstract

In this paper, a design procedure which assumes general integer or noninteger order plant models ‘also can be unknown’ has been adopted to tune PID and fractional order PI (FOPI) controller. The design procedure depends on some specifications of frequency response of open loop system to ensure performance and robustness of step response of closed loop system. Firstly, the procedure is applied to integer order conventional PID (IOPID) controller, and then it has been extended to FOPI. Extensive simulation study has been made to investigate the performance of the obtained controllers, and also to compare between the two controllers. The simulation study has showed the validity and that the proposed controllers have good features in all of control demands, where it shows that these controllers have fast rise time with no overshoot and negligible steady state error. Also, it has showed that FOPI controller performs better than IOPID one.

Abstract

Using simple analytical procedure, a tuning rules for two degree of freedom (2-DOF) PI/PID controllers are presented. The proposed tuning algorithm assumes first order plus delay time and second order plus delay time as plant models to be controlled. The validity and features of the proposed tuning rules have been investigated by computer simulation study. Simulation study showed that the presented controllers have high performance response for step input changes and also that these rules are robust for load disturbance.

Abstract

In this paper, a proposed PID tuning rules for general known or unknown plant models are presented. The design procedure used to obtain the tuning rules has been previously used in literature to obtain tuning rules, but for dedicated plant models. Our contribution in this article is that the proposed tuning rules are applicable for general plant models. These rules are designed to be robust for plant gain variations. The design procedure is based on some specification or constraints of frequency response, namely phase margin, gain crossover and robustness condition. The designed rules are given in terms of frequency response parameters of the plant model ‘which can be found experimentally’ instead of the plant model transfer function (T.F.) parameters. So, these rules do not need the model of controlled process to be known. Simulation study showed clearly the generality, ease of use, good performance and robustness of the obtained tuning rules. Simulation study has included comparison study with other known tuning rules.

ان الهدف في هذا البحث هو تقديم معادلات تنغيم جديدة للمتحكم من نوع الكسب-تكامل-تفاضل (PID) لمنظومات عامة معلومة النموذج او مجهولته. الاجراء المستخدم في الحصول على معادلات التنغيم هو في الحقيقة مستخدم سابقا لهذا الغرض ولكن لمنظومات محددة النموذج وليس لمنظومات عامة. اذن مساهمتنا من خلال هذا البحث هو ان معادلات التنغيم قابلة للتطبيقلمنظومات عامة النموذج. معادلات التنغيم هذه صممت لتكون صلبة تجاه التغيرات في الكسب للمنظومة المتحكم بها. الطريقة المتبعة في التصميم اعتمدت على بعض الخصائص او القيود الموجودة في الاستجابة الترددية, وتحديدا هامش الزاوية والكسب عند تردد الانتقال وشرط الصلابة. معادلات التنغيم التي تم الحصول عليها كانت بدلالة بعض متغيرات الاستجابة الترددية التي يمكن الحصول عليها تجريببياً بدلا من متغيرات الدالة الانتقالية للمنظومة. وبهذا, فان معادلات التنغيم المستحصلة لاتحتاج الى ان يكون نموذج المنظومة الهدف معلوماً. المحاكاة بينت بشكل واضح العمومية وسهولة الاستخدام والاداء والصلابة الجيدان لمعادلات التنغيم المستحصلة.المحاكاة شملت ايضا مقارنة اداء المتحكمات المصممة من خلال الطريقة المقترحة مع اداء متحكمات صممت باستخدام بعض الطرق المعروفة.

Abstract

In this paper, A robust adaptive speed sensorless by a neural network approach of a separately excited (DC) motor without the use of speed sensors is presented. The simulation carried out by Matlab backage. The actual speed is estimated using a feed-forward neural network, the neural estimator have three inputs which are armature current, armature voltage, and the speed in the previous step of time; and one output which represents the estimated speed. The obtained results are presented to show the validity and efficiency of sensorless control scheme, which in turn obtains high performances.

Abstract

in recent years popularity of smart Home has been increasing due to low price and simplicity through tablet and Smartphone connectivity. It is an automation of house or home activity. Raspberry Pi3 is a small computer with digital input output capability and it was introduced in 2016; input/output ability besides the availability of all computer features make this system very suitable to be central unit can for smart home. Smart Home may contain centralize controller which control heating, lightning, ventilation in the home, HAVC( Heating, Ventilation and air conditioning),Safety locks of gates, doors and other system to provide improve comfort, better energy efficiency and security. The aim of this Paper is to develop a smart home application using RPi3, wemose-d1 and GSM. Programming has been developed in C++ in wemose-d1 and Python environment for RPi3 operation. The MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport protocol) technologic used to connect between raspberry pi3 and nodes.

Abstract

In the current scenario, power factor has become an important concern in all industries. Poor power factorgives rise to many problems which result in financial loss of industries and also for the commercial users. The mainconcern of this work is to improve the usage of real power with respect to reactive power hence improving the powerfactor. Here we have used the technique of relay switching method with a capacitor so that any drop in power factorcan be sensed by the controller and switch the capacitor as required. This will not only help to improve power factorbut also demand of electricity supply on utility side will be reduced. The Significance of this work is to build anAPFC (Automatic Power Factor Correction) Unit. The APFC appliance calculates the reactive power (KVAR)expended by a system’s load and compensates the lagging PF (power factor) utilizing capacitances from capacitorbanks.

Abstract

The electrical consumption in Basra is extremely nonlinear; so forecasting the monthly required ofelectrical consumption in this city is very useful and critical issue. In this Article an intelligent techniques have beenproposed to predict the demand of electrical consumption of Basra city. Intelligent techniques including ANN andNeuro-fuzzy structured trained. The result obtained had been compared with conventional Box-Jenkins models(ARIMA models) as a statistical method used in time series analysis. ARIMA (Autoregressive integrated movingaverage) is one of the statistical models that utilized in time series prediction during the last several decades. NeuroFuzzyModeling was used to build the prediction system, which give effective in improving the predict operationefficiency. To train the prediction system, a historical data were used. The data representing the monthly electricconsumption in Basra city during the period from (Jan 2005 to Dec 2011). The data utilized to compare the proposedmodel and the forecasting of demand for the subsequent two years (Jan 2012-Dec 2013). The results give theefficiency of proposed methodology and show the good performance of the proposed Neuro-fuzzy method comparedwith the traditional ARIMA method.

Abstract

Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology is being used widely in the last few years. Its applications classifies into auto identification and data capturing issues. The purpose of this paper is to design and implement RFID active tags and reader using microcontroller ATmega328 and 433 MHz RF links. The paper also includes a proposed mutual authentication protocol between RFID reader and active tags with ownership transfer stage. Our protocol is a mutual authentication protocol with tag’s identifier updating mechanism. The updating mechanism has the purpose of providing forward security which is important in any authentication protocol to prevent the attackers from tracking the past transactions of the compromised tags. The proposed protocol gives the privacy and security against all famous attacks that RFID system subjected for due to the transfer of data through unsecure wireless channel, such as replay, denial of service, tracking and cloning attacks. It also ensures ownership privacy when the ownership of the tag moves to a new owner

Fuzzy-neural network compensator for Robot manipulator controlled by PD-like fuzzy system

Abstract

In this paper, high tracking performance control structure for rigid robot manipulator is proposed. PD-like Sugano type fuzzy system is used as a main controller, while fuzzy-neural network (FNN) is used as a compensator for uncertainties by minimizing suitable function. The output of FNN is added to the reference trajectories to modify input error space, so that the system robust to any change in system parameters. The proposed structure is simulated and compared with computed torque controller. The simulation study has showed the validity of our structure, also showed its superiority to computed torque controller.
