يسعى هذا البحث إلى معاينة لحظة تاريخية على درجة كبرى من الأهمية، هي لحظة من لحظات تأسيس نقد الأدب القصصي في العراق، نهض بها الناقد الراحل الدكتور عبد الإله أحمد في جهده المتميّز، في رصد الإبداع العراقي القصصي منذ طور التأسيس، وتوثيقه، وتشخيص الفعل الإبداعي فيها، والإعلان عنه، إلى الحدّ الذي صار به جهد الراحل موجّها من موجهات القراءة النقدية الأكاديمية في العراق، أو لعله _ وبحذر شديد_ من مؤسسي الشكل الأوفر شيوعا وتداولا من أشكال القراءة النقدية القصصية في العراق، أو في أقل تقدير هو مؤثّر فاعل في توجيه مسارات تلك القراءة والبحث فيها. وسنوكل إلى تلك المعاينة _ في هذا البحث _ مهمة محدّدة، هي مقاربة المتن الاصطلاحي في في جهد الراحل.
