Abstract

objectives:The aim of this study is to find out the sensitivity of FNAC in the diagnosis ofbreast lumps in Kar bala.Patients & Methods: This is a clinical study of FNAC of breast lumps done in ALHusseinTeaching Hospital in Karbala, from May 2005-May 2007. FNAC findings werecorrelated with the histopathological findings of the excised lump of the same patient todetermine the sensitivity of FNAC.Results: Eighty five cases were included in the study, one male and eighty four females. The agerange was between 20-70 years. Benign cases composed 52.9% (45 patients) while malignantcases were 47.1% (40 patients) of the total number of patients. Sensitivity was 92%.Conclusion: FNAC of the breast is a simple, , highly sensitive test . It can minimize the need foropen biopsy, and is recommended as a routine test for determining benign or malignant lesions incorrelation with clinical examination and imaging procedures.Key Words: FNAC, breast lumps, breast disease diagnosis, breast lumps in Karbala.

A Proposed Design for the Broadband Microwave Distributed Amplifiers

Abstract

Abstract:In this paper, a new method for the design of the broadband RF/microwave amplifiersemploying distributed amplification is presented. It proposes to use stages with asymmetriclumped elements (inductances and capacitances) in the gate and drain circuits of theamplifier instead of symmetric elements in order to control the frequency response and toachieve a flat gain over a large bandwidth. The need for impedance matching problems isalso solved. Simulation result obtained demonstrates that the new design gives betterfrequency response as compared to the conventional distributed amplifiers even withoutoptimization.

الخلاصة:تصميم جديد للمضخملت التوزيعية التي تعمل لحزم عريضة جدا من الترددات المايكروية قد اقترح في هذاالبحث . بينما كانت الطرق التقليدية القديمة تعتمد على استعمال دائرة محاثة-متسعة متماثلة بين مراحل او مقاطعالمضخم , فأن التصميم الجديد يقترح استعمال قيم مختلفة للمحاثات و المتسعات و ذلك لتحقيق سيطرة افضل على استجابة النضام. تم اختبار التصميم المقترح باستعمال برنامج (Microwave office)الذي هو مخصص للتطبيقات المايكروية فكانت النتائج هي ان التصميم الجديد يعطي استجابةافضل بكثير من التصميم التقليدي السابق حتى بدون الحاجة الى عمليات (optimization).
