Abstract

New metal complexes of the ligand 2-thioacetic-5-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole with the metal ions Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Cd(II) and Sn(II) were prepared in alcoholic medium. The prepared complexes were characterized by FTIR Spectroscopy, electronic spectroscopy, mass spectroscopy 1H NMR, 13C NMR, magnetic susceptibility and conductivity measurements. From the spectral measurements, monomer structures for the complexes were proposed. Square planar geometry was proposed for the copper complex. The other complexes were proposed to be tetrahedral. Preliminary in vitro tests for antimicrobial activity show that all prepared compounds display good activity to Staphylococcus aureus, Escherishia coli, Pseudononas aeroginosa and Cndida albicans.

Abstract

New diorganotin (IV) complexes of the type Ph2SnL2, Bu2SnL2 and Me2SnL2 of the ligand benzamidocysteine (LH). Ligand formed by reaction of benzoyl chloride with cysteine in presence of sodium hydroxide. The prepared complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, infrared, conductance measurements and nuclear magnetic resonance (1H,13 C and119 Sn NMR) spectral data. From the spectral measurements, monomer structures for the complexes were proposed. Bidentate and Octahedral geometry was proposed for the complexes prepared. Preliminary in vitro tests for fungicidal activity show that all prepared compounds display good activity to Gibberela, Cercospora arachidicola, Physolospora piricola and Fusarium oxysporum.

Abstract

Physicochemical and instrumental characterization of rubber (Hevea brasiliensis (kunth. Muell.)) seed oil (RSO) were carried out for the purpose of quality assessment, identification, and authentication. Properties such as free fatty acid (FFA %), acid value, color, saponification value, iodine value, and unsaponifiable matter were determined. Fatty acid (FA) composition and TAG profiles were determined using gas chromatography (GC) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), respectively. Structural features of RSO were also determined using FTIR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The natural form of RSO is highly acidic (acid value=17.43±0.06 mg KOH/g). The saturated FAs are palmitic (9.10±0.06) and stearic (12.63±0.01), and the main unsaturated FAs are oleic (25.31±0.13), linoleic (36.31±0.09), and linolenic (15.78±0.18). The oil can be classified as semidrying. Polyunsaturated TAGs of LnLnL and LnOO were the major TAGs found in RSO. FTIR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR analysis confirmed that RSO is composed mainly of TAG of saturated and unsaturated FA.

الخواص الكيميائية الفيزيائية لزيت بذرة المطاط ((Hevea brasiliensis (kunth. Muell.) قد انجزت لغرض تقييم الجودة، تحديد الهوية، والتوثيق. الخواص مثل الحوامض الدهنية الحرة (FFA%) ، اللون، قيمة التصوبن، قيمة اليود والمواد الغير متصوبنة قد تم تحديدها. تركيب الحوامض الدهنية (FA) وتركيب (TAG) قم تم تحديدها باستخدام (GC) و(HPLC) على التوالي. تركيب RSO قد تم تحديده باستخدام FTIR، 1H NMR و13C NMR. الشكل الطبيعي للRSO عالي الحامضية (قيمة حامض= 17.43±0.06 ملغم KOH/غم). الحوامض الدهنية المشبعة هي palmitic (9.10±0.06) و stearic (12.63±0.01) والحوامض الدهنية الرئيسية الغير مشبعة هي oleic (25.31±0.13)، linoleic (36.31±0.09) و linolenic (15.78±0.18). يمكن تصنيف الRSO كجزئي الجفاف. TAGs الغير مشبعة الرئيسية الموجودة في RSO هي LnLnL و LnOO. التحليل باستخدام FTIR، 1H NMR و 13C NMR أكد بان RSO يتكون بصورة رئيسية من الحوامض الدهنية المشبعة والغير مشبعة.

Abstract

The photodecomposition of poly(vinyl chloride), films containing organotin complexes (0.5% by weight) was investigated. The photodecomposition rate constant was reduced significantly in the presence of organotin complexes compared to the blank PVC. The Ph3SnL complex was found to be the most effective additive in photostabilization of PVC films. The photodecomposition rate constant for PVC films containing triphenyltin(IV) was found to be 1.80  103 sec1 compared to 4.75  103 sec1 for PVC films in the absence of any additives.

Abstract

The present study focused on modification of the optical properties of PVC films Phenyle Phrine HCl Acid complexes. Poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) react with Phenyle Phrine HCl Acid (L) in THF to form the PVC‐L compound. PVC‐L has further been reacted with different metal's ions to form PVC‐L‐MII complexes. The structure of these complexes has been characterized by FT‐IR and UV‐Vis spectrophotometry. The optical data analyzed and interpreted in terms of the theory of phonon assisted direct electronic transitions. According to energy gap data, the conductivity of PVC and the complexes were obtained. From the microscopic image analysis, the relations between morphology and optical properties were explained.

تم تحضير وتشخيص معقدات جديدة من تفاعل متعدد كلوريد الفانيل- فنيل فرين كلوريد الهايدروجين مع فلزات مختلفه. تم فحص التغيير في فجوة الطاقه لشرائح مركبPVC النقي والمشوب للمنطقة بين 200-900 نانوميتر في درجة حرارة الغرفة من خلال القياسات المستحصلة بطريقة الانتقالات الغير مباشرة للفونون. تم اعتماد النتائج المستحصلة ووجد ان هذه الخواص تتغير اعتمادا على طبيعة العنصر.

Abstract

Metals are essential to the human body but can be harmful to health when it exceeds permissible limits. Different sorts of cigarettes were chosen from the markets in Iraq to conduct the tests of the elements in these species. The chose samples were tested using EDX instrument. Results demonstrated the presence of the proportions of dangerous elements such as (Sb, Ni, Zn, P, Pb, Cd, Ca, Si, S, Cr, Mg, Na, As, Al, Cl, and Sn), which greatly affect the health of the smoker and its negative effects to the environment. The genuine risk is the result of accumulate these elements in the body of the smoker's lungs, liver, blood or brain and its effects are chronic and more dangerous and threatens the life of the person in the future. A special absorption system was used to absorb tobacco smoke for the tested samples by deionized water. The remaining ash collected for acid digestion and prepared to atomic absorption analyses.

Abstract

Optical properties and surface morphology of pure and doped Polystyrene films with different divalent metals of Zn, Cu and Sn and one concentration percentage have been studied. Measurements of UV-Vis spectrophotometer and AFM spectroscopy were determined. The absorbance, transmittance and reflectance spectrums were used to study different optical parameters such as absorption coefficient, refractive index, extinction coefficient and energy gap in the wavelengths rang 200-800nm. These parameters have increased in the presence of the metals. The change in the calculated values of energy gaps with doping metals content has been investigated in terms of PS matrix structural modification. The value of optical energy gap was found decreasing from 4.5eV of pure PS to reach 4.45, 4.38 and 4.32eV for Zn, Cu and Sn respectively. Measurement by AFM spectroscopy was done for two and three dimensional topographic images. From figures, the data of roughness average were 7.29, 7.31, 3.37 and 6.73nm for samples (Blank, Zn, Cu and Sn) respectively.

تم تحضير وقياس الفعالية البصرية لافلام البولي ستايرين النقي والمشوب وذلك بمفاعلتها مع فلزات مختلفة (الزنك والنحاس والقصدير) بتقنية الصب وبتركيز معين وتم تشخيصها بتقنية الاطياف الالكترونية و AFM كما استخدمت اطياف الامتصاصية والنفاذية والانعكاس لدراسة ثوابت مختلفة كمعامل الامتصاصية ومعامل الانعكاس ومعامل الاخماد وفجوة الطاقة لطول موجي يتراوح بين (200-800) نانوميتر.التغيير في قيم فجوة الطاقة للعناصر المشوبة للبولي ستايرين تناقصت من 4.5 للبولي ستايرين النقي الى 4.45 و4.38 و 4.32 لكل من الزنك والنحاس والقصدير بالتتابع اما معامل الامتصاص ومعامل الانعكاس ومعامل الاخماد فقد ازدادت بوجود تلك العناصر. وكانت قيم معدل خشونة السطح (7.29، 7.31، 3.37 و 6.73) نانومتر لافلام البولي ستايرين النقي والمشوب مع فلزات مختلفة (الزنك والنحاس والقصدير) على التوالي.
