Abstract

The wheat gluten was separated by alkalinzation methods method, wheat gluten peptide antigen (WGPA) was found as a proleine rich gluten. WGPA solutions were used as a test imunogen for immunopriming of rabbits (O. caniculus). Six groups of rabbits, each of two were assigned as; Intramuscular Subcutaneous IM-SC saline control group (I), Oral saline control group (II), IM-SC/ WGPA group (III), Oral/ WGPA group (IV), IM-SC-/ WGPA-SFO group (V) and Oral/ WGPA-SFO group (VI). WGPA specific immunesera were separated decomplementized, saved in aliquots at -18 Co till use. The immunoadjuvant effect was scored by comparing titers in the group V and III as well as VI and IV. The WGPA specific polyclonal antibody titers in the sera of the groups V were as 40960 and III 5120. Likewise, in the groups VI and IV were 40960 and 10240 respectively. The mucosal specific anti WPA antibody titer in group III. Was similarly, it was 3776 in the group VI as it was reaching 1920 in the group IV. Thus, SFO could be used as a candidate enhancer of mucosal immune responses to the mucosally applied vaccines, for animal walfare at first, then after sophistication for human walfare.

Abstract

Mucosal surfaces play crucial role in immune defenses against human infection diseases. Such mucosal defenses are in a way or other related to systemic defenses mechanisms. A review of ten years works 1999-2009 is being presented. Mucosal infections induces, mucosal and systemic immune response. The systemic response mostly higher than mucosal . The patient herd immunity induces low, moderate and high immune patients, showing normal distribution curves.

تلعب الأسطح المخاطية دورا حيويا في الدفاعات المناعية حيال الأمراض المعدية وهذه الدفاعات لها صلة بالمناعية البدنية ببعض الآليات. وهذه الدراسة مراجعة تمثل الدراسة عشرة أعوام 1999-2009 . العدوى في السطح المخاطي تحقق استجابة جهازية ومخاطية. وعلى الاغلب تكون الاستجابة الجهازية اعلى من المخاطية. وكانت مناعة القطيع بين المرضى تحتوي على منخفضي ومتوسطي وعالي المناعة معطياً بذلك منحنى بياني بتوزع طبيعي.

Abstract

Two groups of human males with urinary tract infections were elected . First ,53 senescent (60 – 95 y) and second adulthood (35-45y) to study the effect of male senescence on urinary tract mucosal immune response during infections . Single and mixed infections were noted . The single was dominant. Gram negative rods were the major uropathogens .Urinary mucosal immunoglobulins were separated using 6% PEG 6000 D. from senescent and adulthood urine samples . Reactions of whole cell bacterins with UMIG revealed reduction in specific antibody titers in senescent in comparison to adulthood ..Senescence may be involved in this titer reduction

Abstract

Serial concentrations of vitamin D, that ranges liom 1.7-34 ru were made in 2% eggalbumin aqious solution and used for rabbit pdming ihrough multisite and o|al protocols. Abstract

From a group of 60 patients with dentoalveolar infections among which 10 were diabetic and 10 non-diabetic were elected as test group as well as 10 normal subjects as control group. Six Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus anginousus were diagnosed in the first and second group of the patients the immune status of the patients and control subject were tested by pathogen specific antibody titre, neotrophil NBT reduction phagocytosis and leukocyte inhibition LIF.Diabetic patients with dentoalveolar infection shows decreased specific antibody titers, subnormal neutrophil NBT phagocytic % as well as non significant LIF % in comparison non diabetic reveal high specific antibody titers against , high neutrophil NBT% and significant LIF% respectively thus diabetic indicate humoral and cellular immune suppression along the den to alveolar infection.

من مجموعة مؤلفة من 60 مريض بالتهاب السن والسنخ ، اختير عشر مرضى بالسكري وعشرة من دون السكري بوصفها مجموعة دراسة وعشر أسوياء بوصفهم سيطرة . أظهرت نتائج الدراسة بأن ست كانت مخمجة بـ S.aureus وأربع مخمجة بـ S.anginosus لكل من مجموعتي الدراسة وكانت نتائج الزرع سلبية بالنسبة للأسوياء وجرى جمع ودم مع مانع تجلط ومن دون مانع التجلط ودراسة اختبار تثبيط هجرة الخلايا ، اختزال النايتروبلوتترازاليوم وتقدير عيار الضد المتخصص بالممرضين . أظهرت مجموعة السكري اختزال بعيار الضد المتخصص ، واختزال الخاصية البلعمة وتثبيط هجرة خلايا بيض غير معنوي مقارنة من دون السكري كانت ذات عيارات ضد متخصصة عالية وبنسب بلعمة عالية وعامل تثبيط هجرة الخلايا معنوي ، وبذلك ظهر بأن السكري يؤثر تأثير مثبط للاستجابة المناعية الخلطية والخلوية.

Abstract

One hundred twenty five uropathy patients were with clinically proven persistent pyuria (PP). Bacterial culture studies for their clean catch midstream urine samples showed that they were of bacterial causes (BPP). Mucosal and serum globulin concentrations, specific agglutinins and mucosal as well as peripheral leucocytes inhibition index were made to these patients. Results of these immunologic investigations have shown, that the associated bacterial uropathogens (ABUs) were of both gram negative and gram positive types. These ABUs may have one or more than one of the antigenic epitopes. The patient immune responses were dependent on the nature of the immunodominant epitope of the antigen. Thus antibody responses may be scored alone or antibody and cell mediated responses can be scored among these patients. Immunocompromy, no matter of its origin reduce the outcome of the immune function . Five immunoprofiles were deduced as; Profile I: The infection stimulate mucosal and systemic humoral and cellular immune responses. Profile II: The infection stimulate mucosal and systemic humoral immune rcsponses. Profile III: The infection stimulate reduced mucosal and systemic humoral and cellular immune respones. Profile IV: The infection stimulate low grade mucosal and systemic humoral immune responses. Profile V: The aetiogen nonrecoverable with low globulin levels.

Abstract

The plant seed extracts of Cucumis. sativus and Citrullus. colocynthus are containing glycoprotein molecules described to be of lectin characters . These lectins were used as possible immunomodulant . The test immunogen was Mycobaterium tuberculosis PPD and the test immune system was the rabbit with the aim of proving of any immunomodulating effects . The C. sativus lectin (Csl) stimulate the secondary humoral immune response and produce leucocyte inhibitory cytokines in primary , secondary cell mediated immune responses as well as augmentation of skin DTH reaction in both primary and secondary responses. The C.eulocvnthus lectin (Ccl) was stimulating to primary and secondary humoral immune responses as well as it stimulate production of Leucocyte inhibitory cytokines (LIF) both primary and secondary cell mediated immune responses. It was however, inhibiting to skin DTH reactions in both primary and secondary responses Thus Csl and Ccl are of immunomodulating potential in rabbits, Immune system affecting both humeral and cellular arms.

Abstract

Fifteen Staphylococcus aureus isolates from human with persistent pyuria were diagnosed .Patient had high total serum protein (7.178 g/dl) , high serum (4.081 g/dl) and mucosal globulins concentration (0.072 g/dl] and lowered serum albumin globulin ratio (56.68%) in comparison to normal subjects. These patients were with significant anti S . aureus specific agglutinins both at serum and mucosal secretions . Their peripheral and mucosal leucocyte migration inhibition (LIF) were significant (peripheral 0.5, mucosal 0.58) .Non significant anti S. aureus agglutinins and LIF were noted in blood and secretion of five immunecompromized, these five cases were showing low grade (specific antibody titre 40, LIF, peripheral 0.8, mucosal 0.75) immune responses due an immunocompromy. The involved immunodominant epitopes in these immune responses may be T dependent types that can activate either or both Th1,Th2 . For humoral arm direct B cell epitope maybe expected also

Abstract

Fourty Persistent Pyuria Patients were diagnosed as E. coli persistant pyuria . Of which 33 were Immune (In a sense of mounting normal adapted immune response) and seven were immunocompromised (In a sense of mounting subnormal adapted immune response .The female / Male ratio was 13/27 . The patients age range was 30-70 years .The median total serum protein was 7.274 g/dl . Likewise the median serum total globulin was 4.302 g/dl . while the median of systemic to the median of mucosal globulin ratio was 0.69 . These scores were generally higher than those of normal control subjects . The median immunoglobulin class concentrations were 2.339, 0.195 and 0.309 g/dl to classes IgG , IgM and IgA respectively . E. coli immunodominant epitopes were intiating specific circulating and mucosal agglutinin as well as significant leucocytes inhibition factors in immune patients and nonsignificant in immunocompromized . Thus, E. coli epitopes could be of T dependent type and activate either or both Th1 and Th2 lymphocyte, or it might be of T independent epitope type

Abstract

Thirty five breast cancer women (BCW) and fifteen normal subject women (WSW) were investigated for total leucocytes count, total lymphocyte count, CD4 and CD8 markers, as well as for the tumor marker carcinoma-embryonic antigen (CEA) and breast cancer antigen 15-3 (Ca15-3). Subnormal CD4 counts was noted in 9: 35 (25.7%). Likewise subnormal CD4/CD8 ratios was noted in 24: 35 (68.5%) of BCW. For tumor markers, however, CEA 9:35 (25.7%) and Ca15 -3 11:35(31.14%) showed abnormal high concentrations among BCW in contrast to normal values noted among NSW. A battery of CD4/CD8 ratio, CEA and Ca-15-3 is recommended as diagnostic battery for BCW.
