Abstract

In this research, the influence of (Al) doping on optical properties ofspray-pyrolysis deposited SnOz films has been investigated' The newpreparation conditions have been used for the first time in Iraq' The(SnO::Al) tllms were deposited at a glass substrate temperature of (673 K)'The result of (XRD) shows that the films were polycrystalline' Theincrease of (Al) doping reduce the energy gap rvhich was obtained fordirect allorved and forbidden transition and indirect allorved transition' itwasfoundtlratthe(Al)dopingaffectedalltheopticalparametersunderinvestigation.

Abstract

Thin films of SnO2:Al have been prepared using spray pyrolysistechnique. The efTect of gamma rays on optical properties of these filmshave been studied. lt was found the "i*ray affected these properties byreducing the value of all the parameters under investigation and the energyband gap decreases for the exposed films as the percentage of AL increase,expect in lo4 percenkge in comparison vvith unirradiated values

Abstract

Thin films of cuprous oxide Cu2O have been prepared using spraypyrolsis technique. Experimentally, the optical energy gap of Cu2O wasabout 2.2eV. To achieve and estimate an accurate Eg value, there wasproblem in the selection of exact tangent point. To overcome thisproblem, Newton-Raphson method and mean-value theorem were used.It was found that the mean-value theorem can predict correlated nearlysatisfactory Eg value than the other method.
