Spectrophotometric Determination of Doxycycline Hyclate in Pure and Capsule using Diazotization Reaction

Abstract

A sensitive spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of Doxycycline hyclate (DCH) as pure and capsule forms. This method is based on diazotization of primary amine group of benzocaine with sodium nitrite in hydrochloric acid medium; the formed diazonium salt is then reacted with DCH in sodium hydroxide medium, to form yellow – orange Azo dye. Beer's law is obeyed in the concentration rang 16-34mg. ml-1 at 480 nm with detection limit LOD and molar absorptivity Є were found to be 0.418 mg.ml-1 and 2.214× 10+4 L.mol-1.cm-1, respectively.

Abstract

Two Rapid, direct, ecological friendly and economical spectrophotometric methods were used for estimation of meloxicam in the market Tablet dosage form. The First method is based on the use the fourth order derivative spectrum (D4) and the second method is depended on the ratio of the area under the curve for the two peaks in the drug (Compensated area under the curve). The linear calibration graphs of the two methods were measured in the concentration range (5-35)mg/l and the average of recoveries for local market Tablet (AWA)® were 99.8% for D4 method and 100.2% for CAUC method which indicating a good accuracy and precision for these methods. In this study, the results obtained by these suggested methods have been successfully statistically compared by t-test and Mann-Whitney test showed a good agreement.

طريقتان طيفية مناسبة وملائمة للبيئة واقتصادية استخدمت لتقدير عقار ميلوكسيكام في المستحضرات الصيدلانية. تعتمد الطريقة الأولى على طيف المشتقة الرابعة والطريقة الثانية تعتمد على نسبة المساحة تحت المنحني للقمتان الموجودتان بالدواء. كانت الخطية ضمن التراكيز (5-35 مغم/ لتر) ومعدل النسبة المؤوية للاسترجاع للعقار من شركة (AWA)® بلغت 99.8% للمشتقة الرابعة وبلغت 100.2% لطريقة التعويض للمساحة تحت المنحني وهذا يدل على الدقة الجيدة لهذه الطرق. و تم مقارنة الطريقتين إحصائيا باستخدام اختبار تي واختبار مان وتني وأعطت نتائج جيدة.

Abstract

Tetracycline adsorption on the surface of cobalt oxide studied in this work to determine the appropriate conditions for increasing the efficiency of adsorption by changing the temperature, adsorbed dosages, concentration, contact time and pH. The results showed that the rate of adsorption decreased by increasing the temperature and concentration and at 45 minutes with 0.1 gm of Co3O4. The influence of pH on adsorption at pH (1.2, 6, 8) was studied and concentration with a linear range of (20-70 mg/l), the adsorption ratio decreased by increasing the concentration at the same pH. The point of zero charges pHzc calculated and found to be equal to 7.2. Both Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm studied. The result showed a good agreement with Freundlich linear model.

Abstract

In this work, two novel, accurate and reliable spectrophotometric methods have been developed for the determination of pb(II) ion by complexion with the ligand N,N'-cyclohexane-l,2-diylidene-bis(4-methaxybenzoythydrazide (CHMBH). In this study, pb(II) ion was determined by the application of Zero order and first Derivative Spectrophotometric by measuring the amplitude at 258 nm, The linearity ranges for both methods were found to be 20–55 mg/l, Limit of Detection and Quantitation were found to be 0.33 mg/l and 1 mg/l for zero order and 1.438 mg/l and 4.360 mg/l for first derivative method respectively.Both methods have good accuracy found to be 99.594% and 100.497% respectively.
