Abstract

Etching behavior of the CR-39 plastic track detector hve been studied. From bulk etch rate as well as from track etch rate, the sensitive equilibrium of this detector in NaOH solutions is examined in detail. A comparison of discrimination properties between NaOH and KOH is made .

لقد تم دراسة سلوك القشط الكيمياوي لكشف الاثر النووي CR-39 باستخدام محلول القشط NaOH و KOH مع تشخيص الحساسية المتوازنة للكشف باستخدام نفس المحلولين من معرفة معدل الحفر العام VB و معدل حفر الاثر VT ,كما تمت المقارنة بين المميزات التي حصلت للكاشف باستخدام محلولي القشط NaOH وKOH.

Abstract

This paper suggests the use of contourlet transform for efficient feature extraction of fingerprints for identification purposes. Back propagated neural network is then used as a classifier. Two fingerprints databases are used to test the system. These include fingerprints images with different positions, rotations and scales to test the robustness of the system. Computer simulation results show that the proposed contourlet transform outperforms the classical wavelet method. Where an identification rate of 94.4% was obtained using contourlet transform compare with 87% using wavelet transform for standard FVC2002 database.

Measurement of Boron Concentration in Water by Using Track Technique

Abstract

A technical method has been used to measure the Boron concentration in water by detecting the - track density in CN-85 plastic detector. Samples of water are taken from different regions of Basrah city and the results obtained showed that the Boron concentration is approximately larger than 3 PPM and less equal 6 PPM in different places of Basrah city. The high concentration is found in Fao region. That tell us that pollutant in this part of city is larger than the other parts.
