Abstract

This paper considers the neural network based PID controller. The learning and generalization properties of neural network are utilized in improving the performance of a conventional PID controller. Two different schemes arc introduced. Both schemes are studied and their performances are comparatively evaluated on an example for uncertain system.

Abstract

This paper deals with the modeling and control strategies of the motion of wheeled mobile robot. The model of the mobile robot has two driving wheels and the azimuth and velocity are dependently controlled by two PID controllers. The PID controller is one of the earliest and famous industrial controllers. It has many advantages: It is economic, simple easy to be tuned and parameter. The tuning of these controllers is governed by system nonlinearities and continuous parameter variations. 1 his paper deals with the optimal design of a PID controller for path tracking of mobile robot by using genetic algorithms (GA). The designed controller is tested for different paths.

Abstract

Among all control methods for inductionmotor drives, Direct Torque Control (DTC) seemsto be particularly interesting being independent ofmachine rotor parameters and requiring no speedor position sensors. The DTC scheme ischaracterized by the absence of PI regulators,coordinate transformations, current regulators andPWM signals generators. In spite of its simplicity,DTC allows a good torque control in steady stateand transient operating conditions to be obtained.However, the presence of hysterics controllers forflux and torque could determine torque and currentripple and variable switching frequency operationfor the voltage source inverter. This paper is aimedto analyze DTC principles, and the problems relatedto its implementation, especially the torque rippleand the possible improvements to reduce this torqueripple by using a proposed fuzzy based duty cyclecontroller. The effectiveness of the duty ratiomethod was verified by simulation usingMatlab/Simulink software package. The results arecompared with that of the traditional DTC models.

Abstract

This paper presents a method for improvingthe speed profile of a three phase induction motor indirect torque control (DTC) drive system using aproposed fuzzy logic based speed controller. Acomplete simulation of the conventional DTC andclosed-loop for speed control of three phase inductionmotor was tested using well known Matlab/Simulinksoftware package. The speed control of the inductionmotor is done by using the conventional proportionalintegral (PI) controller and the proposed fuzzy logicbased controller. The proposed fuzzy logic controllerhas a nature of (PI) to determine the torque referencefor the motor. The dynamic response has been clearlytested for both conventional and the proposed fuzzylogic based speed controllers. The simulation resultsshowed a better dynamic performance of theinduction motor when using the proposed fuzzy logicbased speed controller compared with theconventional type with a fixed (PI) controller

Abstract

Financial prediction is an example of a prediction problem which is challenging due to small sample sizes, high noise, non-stationary, and non-linearity. Neural networks have been frequently used in financial prediction because of their ability to deal with uncertain, fuzzy, or insufficient data. Despite that, neural networks(NN) have limitations; they still require a significant amount of a priori information about the model structure. Group Method of Data Handling (GMDH) is an inductive approach which attempts to overcome the subjectiveness of neural networks based on the principle of self-organization. We have developed an algorithm inspired from the evolutionary manner of conventional GMDH to generate an inductive model based on using multilayer perceptron that can avoid some of GMDH problems like the exhaustive computations on candidate Adalines and the increasing number of Adalines in the following layers

This paper deals with the navigation of a mobile robot in unknown environment using artificial potentialfield method. The aim of this paper is to develop a complete method that allows the mobile robot to reach its goalwhile avoiding unknown obstacles on its path. Abstract

The neural networks present widely conducing to solve the routing problem in the computernetworks. In this paper, two methods are proposed to solve this problem. A feedforward neuralnetwork is included at each node to make local decision, or in central node to determine thecomplete path between pair of nodes (source, destination). For central routing decision, monitor isincluded as part of routing system to provide the necessary information to the neural networkrouter. The proposed methods are applied for typical examples of computer networks. The neuralnetworks are trained. Results of the testing proof on their good performance.
