Abstract

Traumatic shoulder dislocation is a relatively common & serious injury in sports activities, because of its inherent anatomy & biomechanics. Shoulder joint is one of the most unstable & frequently dislocated joints in the body, accounting for about 50% of all dislocations . Aim of study:-to evaluate efficacy of newly developed simple & gentle method of reduction technique for anterior shoulder dislocation.Material & Methods:-Thirty patients were evaluated & treated by using this method, in a study done within 18 months period in outpatient clinic & emergency department of Al-Kahdymia teaching hospital in Baghdad through 2006 - 2007. Twenty six patients were male and only four patients were female, their age ranging from 18 – 55 years. Reduction technique represent gentle & slow abduction of the extended arm up to 90o , with the same physician’s hand gentle axial traction applied, then horizontal adduction of extended arm of dislocated shoulder and thumb of other hand placed against humeral head to assist a reduction while the patient in supine position Results:-Twenty-four cases which represent 80% from thirty cases of dislocations were reduced successfully from first trail of reduction without using any anesthesia or assistance. Only six cases were failed to reduced by using this method, which represent 20% failure rate.Conclusion :-Still we can say that, this method have superiority to other methods of reduction , due to its simplicity, efficiency, painlessness , and without reported complications in spite of its limited percentage of failure .Keywords:- New, Reduction , Shoulder, Dislocation ,

تعتبر حالات خلع مفصل الكتف شائعة نسبيا , ويعتبر مفصل الكتف واحد من اكثر مفاصل الجسم الغير مستقرة نسبيا ايضا , وغالبا ما يتعرض الى الخلع , والتي تشكل حالات خلعه حوالي... 50% من حالات خلع مفاصل الجسم الاخرى ؟؟تهدف الدراسة الى تقييم كفاءة طريقة جديدة لارجاع الخلع الامامي الحاد لمفصل الكتف, شملت الدراسة 30 مريضا اصيبوا بحالات الخلع الامامي الحاد لمفصل الكتف... حيث كان عدد المرضى الذكور 26 مريضا وعدد الاناث 4 فقط , وتتراوح اعمارهم مابين 18 – 55 سنة , تمت معالجتهم في قسم الطؤارى في كلا من مستشفى الكاظمية التعليمي ومستشفى اليرموك التعليمي خلال فترة 18 شهرا" من عام 2006 – 2008 , باستخدام هذه الطريقة والتي تعتمد على سحب الذراع بطريقة معينة...( Abduction –Horizontal Adduction).اظهرت نتائج الدراسة بان 24 مريضا من اصل ثلاثون مريضا والذين يمثلون ما نسبتهم ( 80% ) من حالات عينة الدراسة , تمت معالجتهم بنجاح تام ومن المحاولة الاولى لارجاع الخلع, وبدون اعطاء المريض اية مواد مخدرة , ودون الحاجة الى مساعدة شخص اخر في عملية ارجاع الخلع كما هو الحال في حالات ارجاع الخلع بالطرق المتبعة الاخرى ؟اخيرا ... يمكن القول بان هذه الطريقة لها افضلية على الطرق الاخرى المتبعة حاليا, وذلك لبساطة تطبيقها وكفائتها ودون الحاجة لاعطاء المريض ادوية تخدير , حيث يمكن اجراؤها في وقت حدوثها وفي مكان الاصابة من قبل الطبيب المرافق في النشاطات والمسابقات الرياضية .

The New Penelopean Poetics: A Feminist Reassessment of the Victimization of Women in Edna St. Vincent Millay’s ‘‘The Ballad of the Harp-Weaver’’ and ‘‘An Ancient Gesture’’

Abstract

The Greeks have a certain authority, for they are the source of the Western traditions of poetry, philosophy, and science. The figure of Penelope in the Homeric epic can be seen as a symbol not only for woman’s trials in general but also for the trials of the woman artist in a man’s world. This study explores the penelopean myth as ideological tool of patriarchal system and it argues that gender stereotypes set in Greek myths have been recreated later by the modern American poet, Edna St. Vincent Millay. Abstract

A series of new derivatives of α-phenylcinnamoyl thiosemicarbazides have been synthesized and converted to 5-substituted- α-phenylstyryl-1,3,4-triazole-2-thiols.These compounds were screened for their antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus ,Escherichia coli and pseudomonas aeruginosa. It was found that α- phenylcinnamoyl thiosemicarbazides were more active than triazoles against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.

Abstract

In this work new derivatives of paracetamol drug were prepared that known high medicinal effectiveness, through coupling reaction between alkali solution of paracetamol and diazonium salt of some substituted aniline compounds (4-chloro -2-nitro aniline, 4-amino aniline , 2,3-di methyl aniline ,1-amino Naphthalene, 2-amino 1,3,4- thiadiazole-5- thiol ).The identification of the prepared compounds was carried out by using UV-Visible and FTIR spectra.

تم في هذا البحث تحضير مركبات جديدة لدواء الباراسيتمول من خلال تفاعل ازدواج بين المحلول القاعدي للباراسيتمول و ملح الديازونيوم لبعض معوضات الانيلين(4- كلورو-2- نايترو انيلين 4- امينو انيلين , 2,3 ثنائي مثيل انيلين ,1- امينو نفثالين ,2- امينو 4,3,1- ثايادايازول-5-ثايول) تم تشخيص المركبات المحضرة باستخدام مطيافية الأشعة تحت الحمراء ومطيافية الأشعة فوق البنفسجية.

Abstract

The process of acquiring a new language or target language (henceforth TL) involves specific problems which differ immensely from the problems encountered in acquiring the native language (henceforth NL). The former include getting a good mastery of its sound system, morphology, syntax, and semantics. Yet the problems noticed in the performance of the learners` writing are to be investigated alone since writing is the “most difficult of the language abilities to acquire.” (Corder, 1974: 177) Moreover; errors in writing in TL show special features and therefore the remedial steps which might be suggested will be different.

Abstract

This work study design system detection to detect magnetic mine or magnetic material which is hidden in any place under the car or vehicle using hall effect sensors . Hall effect sensors could be entirely integrated on a single silicon chip a several sensors might be used in a modern devices as switches, latches or linear sensors. Hall effect sensor is a small sheet of semiconductor material represented connect with DC-voltage source and will force a constant current flow in the semiconductor sheet if it is placed in a magnetic field with flux lines perpendicular to the sheet .This sensors are sensitivity to magnetic field the output voltage ,(Hall effect voltage) will be directly proportional to the strength of magnetic field . This concept might be used to detection a magnetic mine or materials which is hidden under the car by using numbers of bipolar sensors placed in special manner's under the car to sensitive any magnetic field and give warning as light or sound.

يدرس هذا البحث تصميم بعض أنظمة كشف القنابل المغناطيسية او اللاصقة التي تضع في أماكن محدودة تحت العجلات باستخدام متحسسات هول .التي تصنع على شكل دوائر متكاملة تحتوي على قطعة من أشباه الموصلات ومضخمات (DC) . هذه المتحسسات تستخدم في الوسائل الحديثة كمتحسسات خطية أو منزلقات أو مفاتيح عالية الكفاءة .متحسسات هول تمثل قطعة صغيرة من اشباة الموصلات التي تربط مع مصدر فولتية ثابت عندها يمر تيار مستمر فى شبة الموصل إذا وضعت في مكان فيه مجال مغناطيسي كثافته عمودية على سطح المتحسس.تعمل هذه المتحسسات على مبدأ التحسس لشدة المجال المغناطيسي حيث تقوم بتوليد فولتية (هول فولت ) التي تتناسب قيمتها مع شدة المجال المغناطيسي هذا المفهوم او الفكرة يمكن استخدامه لكشف القنابل التي تضع على مواد مغناطيسية لاصقة . عندما توضع هذه المتحسسات بطرق معينة تحت السيارة او العجلة تقوم بإعطاء أشارة تحذير على شكل ضوء أو صوت .

Abstract

To evaluate the efficacy of a newly prepared endodontic irrigant solution, against E. faecalis.Materials and Methods: Sixty human extracted single rooted teeth samples were prepared by usingprotaper NiTi rotary system. The apical foramen of each sample was sealed by acrylic resin on theapical 3mm. Each root was embedded in silicon impression material block and autoclaved. A ten μl(4X10P5P) of inoculated broth media (nutrient broth) with E. faecalis was injected gently inside thecanals of group A,B&C was incubated for 24hours at 37CPoP. Group D was left without inoculation toserve as a control negative. The samples of group A,B and C were disinfected as fallow: Group A wasdisinfected with MCP solution(mixture of 20% castor detergent and 4% papain). Group B wasdisinfected with freshly diluted 2.5% NaOCl solution. Group C not treated with any solution controlpositive. The disinfected solutions were left inside the canal for 5 min then each canal was dried withsterilized paper point, then bacterial samples were taken from the samples of 4 groups using size 40sterilized file which was inserted to full canal length and rotated 360 degrees in clock wise direction fordentin engagement. The file was put inside the sterilized plastic tube containing 1ml of normal salinethen 200 μl was inoculated and spread on Enterococcus agar media and incubated at 37CPoP for 18hours,the numbers of bacterial colonies were counted. Results: Both solutions (MCP and NaOCl) producecomplete eradication of E Faecalis within 5 minutes. Conclusion: Castor detergent 20% and papainenzyme 4% (MCP) has ability to completely eradicate Enterococcus Faecalis bacteria from theinfected root canal in vitro in 5 min. It's antibacterial action is similar to the action of 2.5 % NaOCl

Abstract

Abstract

In this work, Soda Lime Glass (S.L.G.) powder was used ,as fluxe in traditional porcelain instead of feldspar. Two ceramics porcelain were compared; commercial or traditional porcelain that content of 50wt % kaolin, 25wt % quartz, and 25wt % feldspar. Feldspar mass was substituted by scraps soda lime glass yielding a new porcelain composition, to determine the softening points and then the effect of glass addition on porcelain firing process.
Eight samples, for each patch, were prepared and 8wt % water was added. The resulting composite blends were then die pressed at 2N, to produce disk specimens with diameter of 1.5 cm, and then they were sintered at (1000, 1100, 1200, 1250,1300,1350,1400 and 1450) &#730;C, for 2 hours in an electric furnace with a digital controller. Physical parameters, such as density, water absorption, and shrinkage were measured. It was concluded that the sintering process and physical properties were improved by heat treatment. However, the firing results showed that the addition of S.L.G. replacing feldspar lowers the melting points of porcelain and the addition of scrap powder has a positive effect on the quartz dissolution.
The purpose of the present work is to replace 25wt% of feldspar by soda lime glass in a standard porcelain composition and evaluate their differences in physical properties at different firing temperatures.

في هذا العمل ،استخدم مسحوق زجاج الصودا لايم (S.L.G) كمصهر في البورسلين التقليدي بدل الفلدسبار،حيث تم مقارنة نوعين من البورسلين السيراميكي. البورسلين التجاري او التقليدي والذي يحتوي على 50% كاؤلين, 25% كوارتز, 25% فلدسبار. عوضت كمية الفلدسبار بمخلفات زجاج الصودا لايم لأنتاج تركيب جديد من البورسلين وحساب درجة انصهاه ثم حساب تأثير اضافة الزجاج على عملية حرق البورسلين.تم تحضير ثماني عينات من كل خلطة باضافة 8% من الماء ثم كبس المخلوط المركب بضغط مقداره 2 نيوتن للحصول على عينة قرصية بقطر 1,5 سم بعدها تم تلبيد العينات بدرجات حرارة (1000, 1100, 1200, 1250, 1300, 1350, 1400, 1450) مº لمدة ساعتين في فرن كهربائي. تم قياس المعاملات الفيزيائية مثل الكثافة, امتصاصية الماء, والتقلص. تم الاستنتاج ان عملية التلبيد والخصائص الفيزيائية قد تحسنت بالمعاملة الحرارية ,حيث اظهرت نتائج الحرق ان اضافة زجاج الصودا لايم بدل الفلدسبار قد خفض درجة انصهار البورسلين وان اضافة المسحوق المتخلف له تأثير ايجابي في ذوبان الكوارتز. الغرض من هذا العمل, هو استبدال 25% من الفلدسبار بمخلفات زجاج الصودا لايم في تركيب البورسلين القياسي ثم تقييم الاختلاف في الخصائص الفيزيائية بدرجات حرارية مختلفة.
