Abstract

Simple and economical technique was used for synthesis of carbonnanomaterials without using vacuum equipment. The used technique implied anarc discharge between two pure graphite rods with different diameters submergedin deionized water at room temperature. These were also investigated with a newtype of metal catalyst process for the first time. Plasma arc discharge wasproduced using D.C power supply with current (30-90 amp.) and voltage (30-50volt). The nanomaterials were produced in the form of nanoparticles (floated),nanotubes and nanofibers (sank), and carbon nanocolloidal (dispersed) through thewater. The results of these experiments were examined by high resolution opticalmicroscope, scanning electron microscope SEM and transmission electronmicroscope TEM. The results revealed different types of carbon nanomaterials.

Abstract

Carbon Nanopowder was fabricated by arc discharge technique at deposition pressure of 10-5 mbar Argon gas on glass substrates. The prepared carbon nano- powder was collected from chamber and purified with nitric acid at 323K .The morphology and crystalline structure of the prepared powder was examined by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). XRD spectrums showed that the powder exhibits amorphous structure and after purification, the powder showed hexagonal structure with a preferential orientation along(002) direction ,where AFM and SEM gave very compatible estimation on the grain size and shape of the nanopowder.

تم تصنيع مسحوق الكربون النانوي باستخدام تقنية التفريغ ألقوسي( تحت ضغط بحدود10-5 ملي بار غاز الاركون )على شرائح زجاجية ،جمع المسحوق من الحاضنة وتنقيته باستخدام حامض النتريك عند درجة حرارة 323 كلفن .تم فحص التركيب البلوري وسطح العينات خلال حيود الأشعة السينية (XRD) ومجهر القوة الذرية (AFM) ومجهر الماسح الالكتروني (SEM) .أظهرت نتائج الأشعة السينية تركيبا عشوائيا للمسحوق الغير معامل ومتعدد التبلور للمسحوق المعامل مع تركيب سداسي مفضل باتجاه (002) .كما ان فحوصات (AFM)، (SEM) اظهرت توافقا مع الحجم الحبيبي المحسوب وشكل المسحوق النانوي المصنع.

Abstract

In this work, Silvernanoparticles prepared by arc discharge method in deionized water byapplying stablized direct current between two silver rods which are submerged in deionized waterat room temperature without any heat exchanger,vacuum equipment and gas handling equipment. During electrical discharge the temperature between electrodes can reach several thousand Celsius degrees. This leads to etch of silver electrodes in deionized water, silver vapor condensed in water creats a stable silver aqueous suspension. The silver nanoparticles were characterized by UV-Visiblephotometer, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and Atomic Force MicroscopeAFM. The optical absorption measurement showsthat the spectrum exhibits a Plasmon absorption band at ~ 400 nm which is the characteristic of silver nanoparticles.X-Ray Diffraction of the resulting NPs indicated that the particles had a crystalline structureand the average particle size determined from AFM, is about 78.75 nm.

Abstract

In this work, boehmite AlO(OH) nanoparticles were synthesized by arc discharge technique. The structural, surface morphology and optical properties were characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Atomic Force Microscope (AFM) and Ultraviolet-Visible-Near In far Red spectrophotometer respectively. XRD results show pure orthorhombic crystalline structure of gamma-AlO(OH). FTIR absorption spectrum shows that the boehmite nps have the octahedron region which extends from (400–800 cm-1) corresponding to the vibrational frequencies of Al–O bonding. The AFM shows that boehmite NPs are spherical in shape and the average diameter is around 89 nm. Finally the optical properties results show that the boehmite nps have absorption peak at 210 nm and an optical band gap of 4.1 eV.Boehmite nps was examined susceptibility to effect on the different types of bacteria, Escherichia coli (Gram-negative) and Staphylococcus aurous (Gram-positive) strains bacteria.Boehmite NPs showed excellent antibacterial activity against two types of bacteria. Also, Staphylococcus aurous exhibited the highest sensitivity to boehmite NPs while Escherichia coli were the least sensitive. [DOI: 10.22401/JNUS.20.1.08]

Abstract

Silver is powerful natural antibiotic noble metal has been used for thousands of years with no harmful side effect since have being observed, today colloidal silver is rapidly gaining favor in the medical community and water treatment reflecting a kind of revival in the public health community sector. We made design of colloidal silver generator (CS)by using pulsar DC. power supply to get electrical arc discharge between two high purity silver rods., AFM, UV-Visible Spectrometry, OM, AAS, and electrical conductivity were applied to each sample. Results showed that CS prepared with (ADT) indicate good efficiency in producing colloidal silver with size ranging (40-560) nm. Variation in optical properties , color and electrical conductivity could be related to practical size distribution and to ionic/particle(Ag+/Ag0) silver concentration which in the rang (3-10)ppm.

الفضة هي مادة مضادة بكتيرية حيوية طبيعية استخدمت منذ الاف السنين في عمليات حفظ السوائل لخلوها من الاعراض الجانبية عند الاستخدام. يستخدم عالق الفضة بشكل واسع وباهتمام كبير في المجال الصحي وتنقية المياه ومجالات الاستخدام البشري الصحي. في هذا البحث تم بتصميم مولد لعالق الفضة النانومتري باستخدام مبدا الحصول على شرارة التفريغ الكهربائي بين قطبي فضة مغمورين بالماء ومربوطين بمجهز عالي القدرة مستمر ونبضي و دراسة الخصائص الفيزيائية لعالق الفضة المحضرحيث استخدمت التقنيات (AFM, OM, AAS, UV-visible and electrical conductivity) اظهرت النتائج ان عالق الفضة المحضر بتقنية التفريغ الكهربائي (ADT) ذات كفاءة جيدة للحصول على عالق فضة بحبيبات ذات توزيع حجمي (40-560)نانومتر. التغير في الخصائص البصرية واللونية والتوصيلية الكهربائية قد يعزى الى التوزيع الحجمي للعالق ولتركيز ايونات /حبيبات (Ag+/Ag0 ( الفضة والتي بحدود (3-10).ppm

Abstract

In this research three technique and the most efficient one was the arc discharge technique ,we design colloidal silver (CS) generator using two rods of silver connectedly to pulsed DC high power supply to get arc discharge caused evaporate silver rods which immersed in water. Later, we made improvement on this design by using DC . Power supply with high purity silver. Rods arranged in certain arrangement then we get many silver water samples according to different parameters. In order to determined physical properties of (CS) solutions, AFM. UV. Visible spectrometry, AAS, and electrical conductivity were applied to each samples. The results show (CS) generator(method B) is effective tool to get narrow range nano- colloidal silver water suspension with size distribution (40 - 560) nm , color of each solution is characterized to particle size silver particle - ionic solution . The electrical conductivity of sample depended on the ionic - particle silver concentrations (10-32) p .p. m

الفضة هي مادة مضادة بكتيرية حيوية طبيعية استخدمت منذ مئات السنين في عمليات حفظ السوائل لخلوها من الاعراض الجانبية عند الاستخدام. يستخدم عالق الفضة الفضة بشكل واسع وباهتمام كبير في المجل الصحي وتنقية المياه ومجالات الاستخدام البشري الصحي. في هذا البحث قمنا بتحضير عالق الفضة النانومتري بثلاث طرق فيزياوية وكانت اكفا طريقة هي تقنية التفريغ الكهربائي بين قطبي فضة مغمورين بالماء ومربوطين بمجهر عالي القدرة مستمر ونبضي. تم الحصول على محاليل لعالق الفضة الماني بالوان متعددة تبعا لتغير عوامل التحضير وبهدف دراسة الخصائص الفيزيائية لعالق الفضة المحضر استخدمت التقنيات (AFM, OM, AAS, UV-visible and electrical conductivity, spectra photometry) اضهرت النتائج ان عالق الفضة المحضر بتقنية التفريغ الكهربائي ذات كفاءة جيدة للحصول على عالق فضة بحبيبات ذات توزيع حجم حبيبي (40-560)نانومتر. يعزى تغير الخصائص البصرية واللونية تبعا لتغير الحجم الحبيبي للفضة وتركيز الايونات. كما ان التوصيلية الكهربائية لعالق الفضة النانومتري يعتمد على تركيز ايونات- حبيبات في حدود(10-32)ppm
