Computer Aided Design for Spray Driers

Abstract

The aim of this work is to develop an axi-symmetric two dimensional model based on a coupled simplified Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) and Lagrangian method to predict the air flow patterns and drying of particles. Then using this predictive tool to design more efficient spray dryers. The approach to this is to model what particles experience in the drying chamber with respect to air temperature and humidity. These histories can be obtained by combining the particles' trajectories with the air temperature / humidity pattern in the spray dryer. Results are presented and discussed in terms of the air velocity, temperature, and humidity profiles within the chambers and compared for drying of a 42.5% solids solution in a spray chamber 2.22 m in diameter with a cylindrical top section 2.00 m high and a bottom cone section 1.725 m high.

Computer Aided Voltage Stability Analysis in Power Systems

Abstract

Abstract:The current paper aimed to present a computer simulation method to know the power system state which may be in case of voltage collapse, voltage instability or voltage stability by using eigenvalue analysis as well as identifying the weaken nodes in that power system using eigenvector analysis which is used to find the participation factor. The high participation factor values lead to the weaken nodes in the power system that required to treatment by installing shunt capacitors in those locations to improve the power system performance and reduce the losses power. The simulation results obtained by tested the proposed method on 30-bus, 30 lines distribution system and the satisfied results are obtained. The simulation results showed the efficiency and flexibility of proposed algorithm. Proposed algorithm has been implemented using MATLAB language version (7.5).

المستخلصيهدف البحث الحالي الى تقديم طريقة محاكاة حاسوبية لمعرفة حالة منظومة القدرة والتي يمكن ان تكون في حالة أنهيار الفولتية أو في حالة أستقرار أوعدم أستقرار الفولتية بأستخدام تحليل (eigenvalue ) بالأضافة الى تحديد النقاط الأضعف في المنظومة والتي بحاجة الى معالجة بأستخدام تحليل (eigenvector ) الذي يستخدم لأيجاد معامل الأشتراك. قيم معامل الأشتراك العليا تشير الى النقاط الأضعف في المنظومة والتي يتطلب معالجتها بتنصيب متسعات التوازي في تلك العقد لتحسين أداء المنظومة وتقليل الخسائر فيها.وللحصول على نتائج عملية المحاكاة تم اختبار الطريقة المقترحة على منظومة توزيع قدرة كهربائية مؤلفة من (30) عمومي توصيل و (30 ) خط نقل وتم استحصال النتائج التي بينت كفاءة ومرونة الطريقة المقترحة. طريقت المحاكاة المقترحة بنيت بأستخدام برامجيات MATLAB-7.5.

Abstract

Breast cancer is the main cause of death for women above age 40. In this paper a method is proposed to develop a Computer-Aided Diagnosis (CADx), this method provide a second opinion in microcalcifications diagnostic and making decisions (classify microcalcifications as benign or malignant). The proposed method for microcalcifications diagnosis splits into three steps: The first step extracts the region of interest (ROI). The second step is the features extraction, where we used a set of features from (ROI) by applying wavelet decomposition. The third step is the classification process where discrimination between benign and malignant is performed using a Nearest Neighbor Classifier. The proposed method was evaluated using the Mammographic Image Analysis Society (MIAS) mammographic databases. The proposed method has achieved satisfactory results.

سرطان الثدي هو أحد الأمراض الخطيرة التي تهدّد حياة النساء أكثر من الأمراض السرطانية الأخرى، ويعد الكشف والمعالجة المبكرة لهذا المرض من الطرق الفعّالة لتقليل عدد الوفيات الحاصل بسببه لأن المعالجة قبل أن يتطور المرض وينتشر سوف لا تتطلب تدخل جراحي هائل.التصوير الشعاعي للثدي (Mammography) هو تقنية تستخدم جرعة صغيرة من الأشعة السينية (x-ray) من أجل تصوير نوعي للثدي والمساعدة في الكشف المبكر لسرطان الثدي وعادةً ما تكون النساء لا تشعرن بأي أعراض.ُشكل ظهور التكلسات المايكروية (Microcalcifications) في صور الثدي الشعاعية (Mammograms) أحد المؤشرات المبكرة لمرض سرطان الثدي. تظهر التكلسات المايكروية على شكل جزئيات لامعة مختلفة الأشكال والأحجام وقد توضعت على الخلفية الشعاعية لنسيج الثدي.على الرغم من أن تقنية التصوير الشعاعي بأشعة (x-ray) أثبتت بأنها طريقة التصوير الشعاعية الأنجع من اجل الكشف المبكر عن سرطان الثدي، إلا أن هناك بعض المشاكل والصعوبات الناجمة عن تراكب الأنسجة المختلفة في صورة الماموكرام مما يؤدي إلى أخطاء في كشف هذا المرض وتشخيصه لذلك يمكن لتقنية الحاسوب أن تحسن دقة الكشف عن هذا المرض . أن الكشف والتشخيص بمساعدة الحاسوب (CADx) هي تقنيات توفر قارئ ثاني لتنبيه الطبيب إلى مناطق قد يغفل عنها واتخاذ قرار التشخيص بتصنيف التكلسات الميكروية على أنها خبيثة أو حميدة. في هذا البحث تم اقتراح طريقة للكشف والتشخيص المبكر لسرطان الثدي. هذه الدراسة تقترح طريقة لتشخيص التكلسات المايكروية تتألف من ثلاثة خطوات .الخطوة الأولى ويتم فيها استخراج المنطقة المهمة من الصورة (ROI )، أما الخطوة الثانية فهي للحصول على الخصائص (Features) باستخدام التحليل المويجي (wavelet decomposition) وإمرارها إلى خطوة التصنيف وهي الخطوة الثالثة ويتم فيها التمييز بين التكلسات المايكروية الخبيثة والتكلسات المايكروية الحميدة باستخدام المصنف الجار الأقرب Nearest Neighbor Classifier (NN).

Abstract

Examination and diagnostic charts of previous studies had concentrated on certain factors and ignored others, which affect on the suggestion and sequence of sound treatment plans besides that several different computer programs have been developed to aid in dental decision making. The goals of this paper were to prepare a diagnostic chart especially for partially edentulous patients, that help dentists make decisions in terms of diagnosis and treatment planning by using visual basic version 5.0 to design a special program for this study to improve patient care by helping the dentist make better decisions in vastly increasing field of knowledge in dentistry to help dentist for future research about the most popular and complex diseases and how to treat it, to help other Ministries, Ministry of higher education, and Ministry of health and special clinician in the application of Removable Prosthetic Diagnostic computer Program (RPDcP). A program was designed specially for this study by using visual basic version 5.0.This program contains (41) program forms, (255 fields) of examination and diagnosis of partially edentulous patients. The program was applied clinically. The results were statistically analyzed by using principal component analysis and linear combination to explain the whole variation to the original data. The program had capabilities of production, storage, retrieval, scanning, browsing to permit integration of other documents or pictorial representations.

Abstract

This paper demonstrates the design of an algorithm to represent the design stages of fixturing system that serve in increasing the flexibility and automation of fixturing system planning for uniform polyhedral part. This system requires building a manufacturing feature recognition algorithm to present or describe inputs such as (configuration of workpiece) and built database system to represents (production plan and fixturing system exiting) to this algorithm. Also knowledge – base system was building or developed to find the best fixturing analysis (workpiece setup, constraints of workpiece and arrangement the contact on this workpiece) to workpiece.

هذا البحث يقدم تصميم خوارزميه لتمثيل مراحل تصميم انظمه التثبيت و التي تساهم في زيادة مرونه و اتمته تخطيط انظمه التثبيت للاشكال المتعددة السطوح المتناسقه. هذا النظام يتطلب بناء خوارزميه لتوليد السمات التصنيعيه كـ(شكل قطعه العمل) و كذلك بناء قاعده البيانات لوصف المدخلات لهذا النظام مثل (خطه الانتاج و انواع انظمه التثبيت الموجودة). كذلك بناء قاعدة المعرفه لايجاد افضل تحليل للتثبيت (نصب و تقييد قطعه العمل و ترتيب التلامس على قطعه العمل) لقطعه العمل.

Abstract

The process of scheduling is considered as one of the more important productionplanning processes which faces the management of companies, because of the pressureof competition processes. The management of companies and firms take automation ofthis process to get speed and precisions to take suitable decisions. Various kinds ofscheduling problems have received a lot of attention from researchers in a number offields. So far research has primarily been focused on finding a good solution withrespect to makespan and total completion time. Heuristic rules have strong advantagesin that these are easy to understand, easy to apply and require relatively little computertime. For that the researcher has designed a system aided by computer for operationsscheduling on machines in job shop production system based on new heuristic rules tohelp scheduler in solving problem in this field. This system is named "ComputerAided-Job Shop Scheduling" (CA-JSS). It is construction based on two suggested rulesthose are called "Modified Least Work Remaining" and "Modified Most WorkRemaining". We wiII apply it particularly on group of cases. We have been dividedthese cases into two stages. In the first stage ten examples taken from scientificreferences are used as theoretical cases, in second stage we take practical case fromState Company for Electrical Industry (SCEI). The CA-JSS proved its efficiency andability in scheduling the operations. The results appear for this system in some casesbest than (Win QSB) software.

Abstract

Background: Today the availability of real 3D planning software which furthers more allows a reliable transfer to thesurgical field through drilling template placement, imaging modalities available preoperative planning purpose withspecific focus in the use of software for planning of oral implant surgery. This study was established to shed light onthe role of 3D dental planning CT in assessment the bone Quantity (height and width) and quality for dental implantand its relation to opposing tooth.Materials, subjects and method: Oral implant planning was performed for twenty patients with fifteen suspected oralimplant area in AL-Karkh general hospital by incorporating the restorative planning during the preoperativeassessment of the implant site by using a radiographic template with a radiopaque indicator (inside the patientmouth while the patient mouth was closed during the diagnosis) in conjunction with a CT-based imaging system.Preoperative and postoperative CT images were compared (planned and actual implant positions), and theaccuracy of this type of image-guided therapy was assessed.Result: From the collected data (preoperative CT-image) in this study it was shown that, the ability of 3D dentalplanning CT to supply the surgeon with a high resolution image of anatomical limitations, bone density and truelength and width. There were no major surgical complications, 20 implants were available for comparison so therequired accuracy of dental implant planning was superior with CT-based surgical guidance template image therewas a statistically significant correlation in the accuracy of any implants placed with the same guideConclusion: CT-based oral implant planning with surgical guidance, when properly utilized, will help of removing thelimitations associated with two-dimensional imaging modalities for planning implants, and will empower clinicianswith more diagnostic information, it allowed for a physical transfer of the implant planning to the patient’s mouthsafely and predictably

Abstract

Neural network technology plays an important role in the development of newmedical diagnostic assistance or what is known as “computer aided” that based onimage recognition.Thispaper study the method used integration of back propagationneural network and Particle Swarm Optimizing (PSO) in parts of recognition the XRayof lungs for two disease cases (cancer and TB) along with the normal case. Theexperiments show that the improvement of algorithms for recognition side hasachieved a good result reached to 88.398% for input image size 1024 pixel and 500population size. The efficiency and recognition testes for training method wasperformed and reported in this paper
