Abstract

ABSTRACT:BACKGROUND: Lumbar puncture is a procedure that is commonly performed to diagnose meningitis, encephalitis, and subarachnoid hemorrhage and it is helpful in evaluating demyelinating, degenerative and collagen vascular diseases and the presence of tumour cells within the subarachnoid space. It is the test of choice to diagnose pseudo tumor cerebri. OBJECTIVE: To highlight the important role of lumbar puncture in excluding serious central nervous system infections in patients presented with fever and fit. PATIENTS AND METHODS: A prospective study was carried out on 67 patients who were less than five years of age, presented with fever and fit from the 1st of April 2011till thirty first of October 2011, who were admitted to the Children Welfare Teaching Hospital/ medical city / Baghdad for evaluation and management. All the patients underwent lumbar puncture. RESULTS : There were 67 patients with male predominant (52%) , the common age of presentation was between one month to one year ; 42 (62%) , 38 (56%) of patients presented with high grade fever and fit , 42 (62%) patients presented with simple fit , 25 (38%) presented with complex fit , 40 (59%) presented with generalized fit , 27 ( 41%) presented with focal fit , 28 ( 42%) patients presented as first attack and 39 (58%) presented as a recurrent attack ,in 11 (17%) the result of gram stain was positive while 56 (83%) the results were negative , 9 (14%) the results of cerebral spinal fluid culture showed growth of bacteria while 58 (86%) showed no growth.CONCLUSION: The lumbar puncture is necessary in patients presented with fever and fit especially in infancy and those presented with high grade fever and recurrent and complex fit to exclude central nervous system infection..

Abstract

Background: As the development of zirconia crown using CAD/CAM technology, the usage of full zirconia crown isgradually increased. The aim of this in-vitro study was to evaluate and contrast the vertical marginal fit of single allceramictranslucent zirconia crowns constructed from different brands translucent zirconia blanks.Materials and Methods: An acrylic resin model of a left maxillary premolar was prepared all around the tooth with (1mm) depth and 3D scanning to get fifteen STL files, then distributed into three groups (Imes-icor, Whitepeaks andDental direct), 3D scanning and milling machine by Imes-icor CAD/CAM devise. Marginal gaps along vertical planeswere measured at four indentations at the (mid mesial, mid distal, mid buccal, mid palatal) using a light microscopeat a magnification of x100. One-way ANOVA, LSD tests were performed to determine the mean and standarddeviation of the three blanks groups.Results: Statistically high significant difference (p < 0.00) was found between the groups. The marginal gap value ofthe groups varied Whitepeaks crowns was (105.42 ± 7) μm, which was significantly higher than the two overall meanmarginal gap measured for the Imes-icor crowns (59.3 ± 4) μm and Dental direct crowns (54.5 ± 4.9) μm, the Dentaldirect which was lowers overall mean vertical gap measurement.Conclusions: The marginal gap values of Dental direct crowns is considerably lower than that of Whitepeaks crown,The marginal gap values of all the groups made of monolithic high translucent Y-TZP demonstrated acceptablemarginal gaps values.

Abstract

Background: The accuracy of fitness of any dental casting is imperative for the success of any prosthodontictreatment. From the time that dental casting was first introduced, efforts have been made to produce moreaccurate and better fitted castings with minimal marginal discrepancy. The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluatethe effects of three different investing and burnout techniques on the vertical marginal discrepanciesofceramometalcopings invested with two types of phosphate- bonded investments.Materials and methods: Sixty wax patterns were fabricated on a standardized prepared brass die representing anupper central incisor by the aid of a custom-made split mold. Three different investing and burnout techniques wereapplied for an Iraqi investment and a commercial type; Group I:Ring investing with conventional burnout technique(RC);Group II: Ringless investing with conventional burnout technique (RLC);Group III: Ring investing with acceleratedburnout technique (RA).Twenty wax patterns of each group were divided into two subgroups according to the typeof investment material used (10 for each subgroup) represented as (B) for the BellaStar XL and (W) for the WYMvestinvestments. Complete castings were finished and seated on the metal die. The accuracy of fit of each coping wasdetermined by measuring the vertical marginal discrepancies between the finish line on the metal die and themargins of each coping at four specific reference points on the labial, mesial, palatal, and distal aspects of the dieby the aid of a light microscope supplied with a digital camera.The arithmetic mean of each three records wascomputed and regarded as the amount of the marginal discrepancy of each coping and was used as a unit for thestatistical analysisResults: Mean marginal accuracy for W(RLC)was found to be the least (13.839+4.5724 um) while the highest meanvalue related to B(RLC) (29.033+2.102 um). In general, ANOVA test showed significant results among the mean valuesof the Binvestment subgroups while LSD test showed non-significance between the (RA) and both the (RC) and (RLC)subgroups. On the other hand, significance was present between the (RLC) and (RA)of the Winvestment subgroupswhile non-significance was located between the (RC) and both the (RLC) and (RA) subgroups. Comparing similarsubgroups of the two tested investments, the Student's t-test showed non-significance between the (RC) subgroupswhile high significance was located between the (RLC) and (RA) subgroups respectively.Concerning the verticalmarginal discrepancy of the copings, applying the (RC) technique for both investments caused non-statisticalsignificance between the labial, mesial, palatal, and distal aspects.The (RLC) technique caused high significancebetween the four aspects, while the (RA) technique caused non-significance between the labial aspect only andthe others.Conclusion: The Iraqi investment generally produced less vertical marginal discrepancies (using the three differentinvesting and burn-out techniques) than the commercial investment.In order to achieve a better marginal fit, itseems that ceramometalcopings invested with the commercial investment tested are better be cast using theconventional ring investing and burnout technique

Abstract

Aims: The aim of This study was to compare the marginal and internal adaptation of cores which are fabricated of different materials and systems. Methods: In this experimental study, one Ivorine maxillary right first premolar (A -3 Z; Frasaco, Tettnang, Germany) was prepared for full coverage of zirconium,Nickle chromium and ceramic cores. The tooth was prepared with 1 mm rounded shoulder and 2-5 degrees tapering. Nickle chromium die was prepared for full coverage of upper first premolar, and duplicated to produce fifteen resin stone dies.The specimens were devided in to three groups (n=5). Cores were fabricated using NiCr, Empress ceramic, manual Zirconia frame works respectively. Internal space replica technique was used to evaluate the marginal and internal adaptation of the cores using Fit and Bite checker silicone material. The resulted replica of each core was sectioned and the thickness of the black and white silicone layer was measured at marginal and internal points.Data was calculated and compared statistically using Kruskal_Wallis test at p<0.05. Results: There was a significant difference in the internal adaptation of different core materials . Copings fabricated of zirconia material have shown minimum thickness and higher internal adaptability. Conclusions: Zirconia copings have superior marginal adaptability when compared to NiCr and Empress Ceram materials.

Abstract

In this study, the kinematic equations are derived to describe the angles, velocities, andaccelerations of the leg of bike rider when changing the height and angle of seat tube. Theseequations are useful to get the optimum seat position, (in separated study), for bestperformance and efficiency.The pedaling motion model was simulated as four-bar mechanism (the foot was notconsidered), and by using polar form of complex number notation to get the kinematicequations. These equations are agreed with MATLAB/Simulink/SimMechanics/Four-BarModel, as well as, the graphical method. The derived equations (kinematic equations) candescribe the crossed and open four-bar mechanism.

Abstract

Background: The objective of this in vitro study was to evaluate the vertical marginal fit of crowns fabricated withZrO2 CAD/CAM, before and after porcelain firing cycles and after glaze cycles.Materials and Methods: An acrylic resin model of a left maxillary first molar was prepared and duplicated to haveNickel-Chromium master die. Ten die stone dies were sent to the CAD/CAM (Amann Girrbach) for crownsfabrication. Marginal gaps along vertical planes were measured at four indentations at the (mid mesial, mid distal,mid buccal, mid palatal) before (Time 0) and after porcelain firing cycles (Time 1) and after glaze cycles (Time 2)using a light microscope at a magnification of ~100. One way ANOVA LSD tests were performed to determinewhether the mean and standard deviation of sub group Time 2.Results: The mean values of the ZrO2 CAD/CAM Time 0 were (6.77ƒÊm), Time 1(8.75ƒÊm) and Time 2(10.62 ƒÊm). Oneway ANOVA test revealed highly statistical significance(P<0.01). LSD test results showed that there is highly significantdifference between time (0) and time (2), while there is no any significant difference between time (0) and time (1),and between time (1) and time (2).Conclusions: Within the limitations of this study, it was concluded that the ZrO2 CAD/CAM demonstrated acceptablemarginal fit; The porcelain firing and the glaze firing cycles affected the marginal gap

Abstract

This study aims to studying of Person and organization’s environment fit in a sample of Private bank’s reflection in its basic dimensions (Person-organization fit ,Person-Job fit, Person-group fit and Person- Person-fit )in the Work Outcomes (job satisfaction, the intention to leave the job, Job Engagement, and organizational citizenship behavior ).The questionnair’e has been used as a basic instrument to gather data , As well as personal interviews with some of the staff of the research sample of private banks which were represented by (5) and included banks (Bank of Assyria for investment, the North Bank for Finance and Investment , Bank of the Tigris and Euphrates Islamic, Al-Mansour Bank for Investment )that the sample contains (103) individuals who occupy the post of branch manager or a department head or an employee, and that data has been processed by using the statistic Package (SPSS ).The most important conclusions of the present study is that the Person-organization environment fit enables the studied organization to use it in solving its problems ,and the results showed that the achieving of high levels of Person-organization environment fit has been described as one of the basic element in maintaining of manpower necessary to confront the competitive challenges ,that the relation and interaction between the individual and organizational environment result in behaviors that assist the organization in achieving the common objectives for both of them, as well as there is a strong significant correlation between Person-organization’s environment fit and the Work Outcomes .The re commendation’s focused on the maximum benefit from functioning the dimensions of Person-organization’s environment in a balanced way for the individual to increase their perception of the value of their work and their sense with progress and success, and this task is achieved by the attention paid by the bank management to it’s employees and to notify the employees with the result of their work , in addition to the importance of giving enough opportunities to it’s individuals by solving the problems that obstruct their work, and the attempt of benefiting from the dimensions of Person-organization environment fit in influencing in Work outcomes by joining the individuals with the courses or programs of social adaptation to narrow the gap between the Person and organizations environment in away that achieves good level of Person-organizations environment to increase the Work outcomes and their productivit .

يهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة ملاءَمة الفرد مع بيئة المنظمة في عدد من المصارف الأهلية وانعكاسها على مخرجات العمل ، وتتمثل إبعاد ملاءَمة الفرد مع بيئة المنظمة بـ( ملاءَمة الفرد والمنظمة ، الفرد والمهنة ، الفرد والجماعة ، ملاءَمة الفرد والفرد ) ، اما ابعاد مخرجات العمل فهي (الرضا الوظيفي ،النية بترك العمل ،الالتزام بالعمل ، سلوك المواطنة التنظيمية ) .وقد استخدم البحث الاستبانة كأداة رئيسة لجمع البيانات ،فضلاً عن المقابلات الشخصية مع بعض موظفي المصارف الأهلية عينة البحث التي تمثلت بـ (5) مصارف وشملت (مصرف أشور للاستثمار ،مصرف الشمال للتمويل والاستثمار ،مصرف دجلة والفرات الإسلامي ، مصرف المنصور للاستثمار ) افترض البحث ان ملاءَمة الفرد مع بيئة المنظمة يؤثر في مخرجات العمل . اختبرت عينة مكونة من (103) فرد شملت مديري الأقسام ورئيس قسم أو شعبة أو موظف في المصارف عينة البحث ، لتحليل البيانات استخدمت مجموعة من الأساليب الإحصائية ، وتوصل البحث إلى مجموعه من الاستنتاجات من بينها الفائدة التي تحصل عليها المصارف وتمكنها من حل مشاكلها وذلك لعد الملاءَمة بين الفرد وبيئة المنظمة كأحد الركائز الأساسية في الاحتفاظ بالقوة الضرورية لمواجهة التحديات التنافسية ، وأخيرا أوصى البحث بمجموعة من التوصيات ومحاولة الإفادة من إبعاد ملاءَمة الفرد مع بيئة المنظمة في التأثير في مخرجات العمل من خلال إلحاق الإفراد بدورات أو برامج للتكييف الاجتماعي من اجل تقليل الفجوة بين الفرد وبيئة المنظمة بما يحقق مستوى جيد لملاءَمة الفرد مع بيئة المنظمة سعيا" لزيادة مخرجات العمل المطلوبة .

Influence of Surface Roughness and Hub Thickness on Interference Fitting

Abstract

In this study the mechanical behaviors of shaft and hub were investigated by using the experimental tests by measuring the required axial load during coupling and decoupling in interference fitting. The surface roughness of the shaft and hub thickness effects on the mechanical property of interference was studied. All tests were performed for constant interference fit classes for three different surface roughness of the shaft without changing the inner surface roughness of the hub. Also four different outer diameters of hubs with keeping constant surface roughness of the inner diameter of hub studied, thus 21 samples of interference studied. The analysis of variance reveals in this study is that the best interference tightens condition is achieved at fine surfaces, the results also show that the hub thickness effect and increases the stresses are usually generated immediately and reach maximum value in the inner site of hub after the assembly completed. Finite element model of shaft and hub was established, and the equivalent stress and contact stress for different hub thickness were computed after interference coupling, diameters in the thin hubs increase when coupling complete which reduces the interference between the shaft and hub.

أختص هذا البحث بدراسة تأثير خشونة الأسطح للأجزاء المتداخلة وسمك المحمل على السلوك الميكانيكية الناتجة خلال عمليات التركيب والتفكيك لهذه الأجزاء, ولهذا الغرض فقد تم دراسة عملية لاحدى وعشرون عينة لقياس مقدار القوة اللازمة لتركيب وتفكيك المحمل على العمود لثلاثة أسطح مختلفة الخشونة للأعمدة مع تحديد خشونة السطح الداخلي للمحمل, وفي المرحلة الثانية تم قياس مقدار القوة اللازمة لتركيب وتفكيك المحمل على العمود لأربعة محامل مختلفة في أقطارها الخارجية مع تحديد خشونة سطح العمود والمحمل. كما تم دراسة تاثير تغير الأقطار الخارجية للمحمل عن طريق برنامج المحاكاة (ANSYS), وأظهرت نتائج المحاكاة بأن مقدار الأجهادات الناتجة بين العمود والمحمل تعتمد بشكل كبير على القطر الخارجي للمحمل, حيث بزيادة القطر الخارجي للمحمل تزداد مقدار الأجهاد بين الأجزاء المتداخلة, وكذلك اظهرت النتائج العملية للدراسة بأن القوة اللازمة لتركيب وتفكيك المحمل تقل بزيادة خشونة الأسطح المتداخلة وتقل هذه القوة عندما تكون سمك المحمل قليلة وذلك لحصول تغير في اقطار المحمل نتيجة التداخل التركيبي .

Abstract

Objective: This research aimed to forecasting of an expected outcomes for the planning periods (2014-2026) based on the numbers of traffic accidents, as well as projection long term trend graphically for (Dead and non dead accidents, numbers of deaths, and numbers of injuries), in Iraq throughout applying an optimal statistical models. Methodology: Data are selected from annuls statistical reports of traffic accidents registered and published by Ministry of Planning for the time periods (2002-2013). Five criteria had been applied, such that (MSE, MAE, MAPE, ME, and MPE), the first three statistics measuring the magnitude of the errors. A better model will give a smaller value. The last two statistics measure bias. A better model will give a value close to zero. Results and Findings: Several forecasting models are suggested, and among that are nominated (Linear trend, Brown’s Linear Exponential Smoothing, and Moving Average of order (1) i.e. MA(1)), since recorded significant autoregressive, and goodness of fit tests. Conclusions: For the three time series, (Dead accidents, no. of deaths, and no. of injuries), it will be increases significantly at the projection of planning periods, while time series, concerning (Non Dead accidents) according to the magnitude of residuals by applying studied indicators, shows stability status along the projection periods at the general mean line.

: الهدف: يهدف البحث إلى التنبؤ عن النتائج المتوقعة للفترة المخطط لها (2014-2026)، بالإضافة الى بيان خط الاتجاه العام لإعداد الحوادث المرورية (الحوادث المميتة وغير المميتة وأعداد القتلى، وأعداد إصابات الجروح) في العراق من خلال تطبيق النماذج الإحصائية المثلى. إجراءات البحث: تم اختيار البيانات من التقارير الإحصائية السنوية لحوادث المرور المسجلة، والمنشورة من قبل وزارة التخطيط للفترة الزمنية (2002-2013). وقد طبقت خمسة معايير، هيMSE) ،MAE ، MAPE، ME، وMPE)، حيث أن الإحصاءات الثلاثة الأولى تختص بحجم الأخطاء. في حين يعكس المؤشرين الآخرين مقياس التحيز، حيث أن النموذج الأفضل هو النموذج الذي يعطي قيمة تقترب من الصفر. النتائج وعرضها: تم اقتراح العديد من نماذج التنبؤ، وجاء من بينها ترشيح النماذج (الخطي الاتجاه، الممهد الأسي الخطي لبراون، والمتوسط المتحرك من الرتبة (1))، حيث معنوية نتائج الانحدار الذاتي، واختبارات جودة المواءمة. الاستنتاجات: سجلت نتائج السلاسل الزمنية الثلاث (الحوادث المميتة، وأعداد الوفيات، وأعداد الإصابات)، زيادةً كبيرة بتقادم فترات الإسقاط الزمني المخطط لها، بينما جاءت نتائج إسقاطات السلسلة الزمنية (أعداد الحوادث غير المميتة) وفقا لتحليل الأخطاء على امتداد فترات الإسقاط عند خط المتوسط العام.

Abstract

The rainfall Intensity-Duration-Frequency (IDF) relationship is one of the most commonly used tools in water resources engineering, either for planning, designing and operating of water resource projects. The purpose of this research is to get curves frequency the intensity of rain duration for Nasiriyah city, Iraq, and finding empirical equations the curves. Where are collected data of the rain 36 years ago from 1980 to 2015. Used Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) empirical reduction formula and methods of distribution: Gumbel and Log Pearson Type III during short periods (10, 20, 30, 60,120,180, 360, 720 and1440) minute with a specified return period (2, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100) years. The results obtained showed that intensity of rainfall decreases with increase in storm duration and rainfall of any given duration will have a larger intensity if its return period is large. The chi-square goodness of fit test was used to determine the best fit methods of distribution (Easy fit software 5.6) and conclude that the Log Pearson type III was the best method

تعتبر العلاقة بين الشدة المطرية وتكرار استدامة الشدة هي احدى اكثر الادوات المستعملة في هندسة مصادر المياه، سواء في التخطيط والتصميم او في تشغيل مصادر المياه. الغرض من هذا البحث هو ايجاد منحنيات تكرار شدة الاستدامة المطرية لمدينة الناصرية، العراق وايجاد معادلات المنحنيات. حيث جمعت البيانات المطرية 36 سنة مضت من 1980 الى 2015. استخدمت المعادلة التجريبة لقسم الارصاد الجوية الهندية (IMD) وطرق التوزيع: كامبل وبيرسن لوغارتم النوع III خلال مدد قصيرة (10، 20، 30، 60، 120، 180، 360، 720، 1440) دقيقة وفترات رجوع (2، 5، 10، 25، 50، 100) سنة. النتائج اظهرت ان الشدة المطرية تتناقص بازدياد مدة العاصفة المطرية وكذلك بين ان هطول الامطار يعطي كثافة مطرية خلال فترات رجوع كبيرة. كذلك تم ايجاد افضل طريقة توزيع باستخدام طريقة الكاي تربيع في برنامج (Easy fit software 5.6) واستنتج ان طريقة بيرسن لوغارتم النوع III هي الافضل.
