The experiments was carried out in a plastic house belongs to college of Agriculture-University of Kufa during the growing season 2011 - 2012 .The aim was to study the effect of soil mulching and spraying the extracts of liquorice roots and Garlic bulblets on growth parameters of sweet pepper plant var ."California wonder" grown in plastic house. The experiment had comprised twelve treatments between soil mulches (Wihout mulches "control", transparent polyethylene and black polyethylene ) and spraying with the extract of liquorice root and Garlic bulblet (control , liquorice root extract, Garlic bulblets extracts and liquorice root and Garlic bulblets extracts ) on vegetative growth plants . Split plot design with Randomized Complete Block Design (R.C.B.D.) with three replicate was used .Means was compared at probability of 0.05 by Least Significant Differences (L.S.D.). Spraying by the extracts of liquorice root and Garlic bulblets has an effect on the most of vegetative growth characters. Spraying with both Liquorice root and Garlic bulblets extracts gave the highest means for the above characters compared with the other treatment. There were also a significant effects of the interaction of the two factors on vegetative growth characters compared to the other interaction treatment. The results also showed the highest heat accumulation in soil produced from black polyethylene, followed by transparent polyethylene and the least was from control treatments respectively. Results were indicated significantly effect of black polyethylene on other mulch treatment on vegetative growth characteristics (plant height, branches number, total leaf number, leaf area, total vegetative dry weight and leaves chlorophyll content) yield parameters (plant fruit number, one fruit weight, one plant yield and total yield). Interactions between two factors had a significant effect on all parameter compared with the interaction of control which gave lower values for the studied characters.

نفذت التجربة في أحد البيوت البلاستيكية العائدة لكلية الزراعة - جامعة الكوفة خلال الموسم الزراعي 2011 - 2012 على نبات الفلفل صنف California Wonder بهدف دراسة تأثير أغطية التربة ورش مستخلصي جذور السوس وفصوص الثوم في مؤشرات النمو والحاصل لنبات الفلفل الحلو, تضمنت التجربة 12 معامله هي عبارة عن التداخلات بين معاملات أغطية التربة (من دون تغطية, البلاستك الشفاف و البلاستك الأسود) والرش بالمستخلصين أعلاه (مقارنة, مستخلص جذور السوس, مستخلص فصوص الثوم والمستخلصين معا") على المجموع الخضري. نفذت التجربة بتصميم القطع المنشقة ضمن القطاعات العشوائية الكاملة (R.C.B.D.) وبثلاث مكررات واختبرت الفروق بين المتوسطات بحسب اختبار اقل فرق معنوي L.S.D. عند مستوى احتمال 0.05 أظهرت النتائج إن الرش بمستخلصي جذور السوس وفحوص الثوم اثر معنويا" في معظم صفات النمو الخضري .وقد تفوقت معاملة الرش بالمستخلصين معا" على باقي المعاملات وأعطت أعلى معدل لهذه الصفات. ولقد ظهر إن أعلى تراكم حراري في التربة نتج من البلاستك الأسود ويليه البلاستك الشفاف وأوطئها معاملة المقارنة بلغت (2297.01, 2080.22 و 1574.87) م0 للموسم الزراعي. كذلك بينت النتائج تفوق البلاستك الأسود على باقي الأغطية في صفات النمو الخضري (ارتفاع النبات، عدد الأفرع, عدد الأوراق الكلي, المساحة الورقية, الوزن الجاف للمجموع الخضري و محتوى الأوراق من الكلوروفيل) والحاصل (عدد الثمار في النبات، وزن الثمرة الواحدة، حاصل النبات الواحد و الإنتاج الكلي للبيت البلاستيكي) ومن جهة أخرى حصل نفس التأثير نتيجة التداخل بين العاملين على جميع الصفات المدروسة مقارنة بمعاملة المقارنة التي أعطت اقل معدل لتلك الصفات.
