Abstract

In present study investigated of the histological structure of the gills of two fish species: Cyprinus carpio and Otolithes rubber which represented fresh water and seawater fish respectively. A total 20 specimens of freshwater fish (Cyprinus carpio) collected from Shatt-Al-Arab and 20 specimens of seawater fish(Otolithes ruber) were collected from Arabian Gulfs. The histological examination of gill samples showed that the seawater samples had a larger number of the chloride and pavement cells, compare with C. carpio. Also the gill raker of the O. rubber was appeared a cartilage and osseous tissue in the external side, while fibrous connective tissue, skeletal muscle layer and large amounts of adipose tissue was noticed in internal side, while the rake gills of the freshwater fish C. carpio was showed lake of the bone and skeletal muscle as well as adipose tissue.

Abstract

The concentrations of the heavy metals (Co, Cu, Fe, Ni, pb), were studied in four organs (liver, Gills, ovaries and muscles) in the body of Otolithes ruber (gill, liver, muscle, ovaries) The concentrations of heavy metals for a period of November 2011 to February 2012, were measured by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, The results showed that the highest concentrations value of iron (1422.7) µg/gm dry weight in gills, while the minimum values of the element concentrations, manganese, nickel in the gills and ovaries during the remaining months of the study were below the level of sensing device. The study showed that the order of accumulation in organs was as follows: liver > Gills > ovaries > muscles. In general the concentrations of elements during Season, winter> spring> autumn> summer

درست تراكيز العناصر الثقيلة الرصاص والنيكل والحديد والكوبالت والنحاس في اربعة أجزاء من أنسجة أسماك النويبي (غلاصم، كبد، عضلات, مبايض) المصطادة من السواحل البحرية العراقية للفترة من تشرين الثاني 2011 إلى شباط 2012، قيست تراكيز العناصر بواسطة جهاز طيف الامتصاص الذري Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer، أظهرت النتـائج إن أعلى القيـم سجلت لعنصر الحديد (1422,7) مايكروغرام/غم وزن جاف في الغلاصم, واقل تركيز كان لعنصر النيكل في الغلاصم والمبايض إذ كانت دون مستوى تحسس الجهاز, وبينت الدراسة ان ترتيب الأعضاء الخازنة للعناصر كالتالي كبد < غلاصم < مبايض > عضلات ، آما تركيز العناصر خلال الفصول كان حسب الترتيب شتاء> ربيع> خريف> صيف
