Erbium, as optical probe, doped silicate sol-gel glass with different Er concentrations was formed by wet chemical synthesis method using ethanol, water and tetraethaylorthosilicate [Si(OC2H5)4] precursor. Erbium ions were incorporated into silica sol-gel matrix via dissolution of Erbium chloride solution into the initial Si(OC2H5)4 precursor sol. Aluminum (Al) as a co-dopant was added to the final precursor in the form of Aluminum chloride (AlCl3) solution. The prepared samples were analyzed using atomic absorption analysis, X-ray diffraction and spectroscopic tests. The experimental results concerned with the transmission spectra suggest that the final samples have a good transparency and homogeneity. Also, the X-ray diffraction test showed that they have amorphous structure. The absorption and fluorescence spectra, as a function of Er concentration, were recorded at room temperature. Fluorescence emission of the 4I13/2→4I15/2 transition at ~ 1.536 µm was observed. In addition, the high values of peak emission cross-section, which were calculated as a function of Er concentration, suggest that the Er in the sol-gel may be favorable as optical material

الاربيوم كمجس بصري تم تطعيمه بزجاج السيليكات Sol-gel وبتراكيز مختلفة بأستخدام الطريقة الكيميائية الرطبة بأستعمال كحول الايثانول, الماء و محلول التتراثيل اورثو سيليكات [Si(OC2H5)4]. ايونات الاربيوم تداخل في مصفوفة السيليكا بواسطة اذابة محلول كلوريد الاربيوم في محلول [Si(OC2H5)4] الاولي. الالمنيوم كشائب مشارك قد تم اضافته الى المحلول النهائي بصيغة محلول كلوريد الالمنيوم.حللت النماذج المحضرة باستخدام تحليل الامتصاص الذري، حيود الاشعة السينية بالاضافة الى الفحوصات الطيفية. اظهرت النتائج التجريبية المتعلقة باطياف النفاذية امتلاك النماذج المحضرة لنفاذية وتجانس جيدين، كذلك اظهرت اطياف حيود الاشعة السينية التركيب العشوائي لهذة النماذج.سجلت اطياف الامتصاص والفلورة للنماذج كدالة لتركيز ايون الاربيوم عند درجة حرارة الغرفة وقد لوحظ انبعاث الفلورة الخاص بالانتقال 4I13/2 4I15/2 عند تقريبا 1.536μm. اضافة الى ذلك فان القيم العالية لذروة المقطع العرضي للانبعاث والتي حسبت كدالة لتركيز ايون الاربيوم بينت أن الاربيوم المطعم بزجاج الـ Sol-gel قد يكون مفضلا كمادة بصرية ليزرية.

Erbium --- silica sol-gel

In this research a bilateral tin oxide (SnO2) thin films was prepared by Sol-Gel method, flow coating technique which is considered a simple and cheap technique. The horizontal sample preparation with and without the use of installed, and also with installed to vertical sample. Results of optical spectroscopy that the biggest values of the transmittance T was for horizontal films with an installed, as for the absorbance A was the biggest values of the vertical sample. For the reflectivity R was value in the horizontal films with installed, less than a horizontal films without Sticky as well as for films vertical. The results of the energy gap Eg for that direct allowed and forbidden transitions and for the indirect allowed and forbidden transfers for the studied Samples were also calculated, and they showed that the highest value of Eg was (3.85eV) for the direct forbidden transfers in the horizontal sample with installer, while the lowest value of Eg was (3.65eV) for the indirect allowed transfers without installer. The vertical film with indirect showed the lowest value for the energy gap ever (3.45eV) for the indirect allowed transitions.

تم في هذا البحث دراسة تحضيرأغشية رقيقة ثنائي اوكسيد القصديرSnO2 بتقنية المحلول الجيلاتيني (Sol-Gel) بطريقة التغشية بالسكب(Flow Coating) حيث تمتاز هذه التقنية بالبساطة وقلة التكلفة . تم تحضير عينة أفقية مع وبدون استخدام مثبت, وأيضا مع مثبت لعينة عمودية . أظهرت نتائج المطيافية الضوئية أن أكبر قيم للنفوذية T كانت للاغشية الأفقية التي أضفنا لها مثبت , أما بالنسبة إلى الامتصاصيةA فكانت أكبر قيم لها للعينة العمودية , وبالنسبة إلى الانعكاسيةR فقد كانت قيمها أقل في الأغشية الأفقية مع مثبت , منها في الأغشية الأفقية بدون مثبت وكذلك لاغشية العمودية . كما بينت النتائج والحسابات في قيم فجوة الطاقة Eg في الانتقالات الالكترونية المباشرة المسموحة والممنوعة وفي الانتقالات غيرالمباشرة المسموحة والممنوعة للعينات المدروسة , أن أكبر قيمة فجوة الطاقة للعينة الافقية مع مثبت هي (3.88eV) وذلك في الانتقالات المباشرة الممنوعة , أما أصغر قيمة لعرض فجوة الطاقة للعينه الافقية بدون مثبت فهي (3.82eV) وذلك في الانتقالات غيرالمباشرة المسموحة. بينما أبدت العينة العمودية أصغر قيمة لفجوةا لطاقة على الاطلاق حيث بلغت (3.38eV) وذلك في الانتقالات غيرالمباشرة المسموحة .

optical properties --- Sol-Gel method

The effect of using different R -molar ratio under variable reaction conditions (acidic as well as basic environment and reaction temperature) have been studied. The overall experiments are driven with open and closed systems. The study shows that there is an optimum value for a minimum gelling time at R equal 2. The gelling time for all studied open system found to be shorter than in closed system. In acidic environment and when R value increased from 2 to 10, the gelling time of closed systems has increased four times than open systems at T=30 ˚C and fourteen times when temperature reaction increased to 60 ˚C. While in basic environment the influence of increasing R value was limited.

تم في هذا البحث دراسة تأثير تغيير النسبة المولارية R تحت ضروف تفاعل مختلفة وفي اوساط حامضية وقاعدية, وقد اجريت التجارب عند عدة درجات حرارية.لقد حضرت النماذج في انظمة تحضير مفتوحة الاغطية ومغلقة. اضهرت الدراسة ان اقل زمن لازم للوصول الى حالة الجل يكون عند R = 2, وان هذا الزمن يكون اقل عند التحضير في انظمة التحضير المفتوحة, ولكل النماذج, مقارنة مع مثيلاتها في الانظمة المغلقة. وجد عند زيادة قيمة R من 2 الى 10 وفي الاوساط الحامضية يزداد زمن الوصول الى حالة الجل في النظام المغلق الى اربعة اضعافه لكل النماذج عندما تكون درجة حرارة التفاعل ˚C 30 , اما اذا زادت درجة حرارة التفاعل الى ˚C 60 فان زيادة الزمن تكون اربعة عشر ضعفاﱟ. أما في الاوساط القاعدية فان تاثير تغيير قيمة R على الزمن اللازم للوصول الى حالة الجل يكون محدوداﱟ.

Sol-Gel --- TEOS --- R -molar ratio

The anatase phase of titania has great potential to be used in various applications. Thus; the synthesis of phase-pure nanocrystalline anatase has attained great importance in the past decade. In the present work, the sol-gel method was used to prepare such nanoparticles. It has been found that the sol-gel method can, with the help of long aging time, produce phase-pure anatase nanoparticles that have polygonal shape with edges’ length in the range of (~30-70nm). The firing temperature should be kept higher than 500°C to get fully crystalline nanoparticles and lower than 800°C to avoid the phase transformation to rutile phase

يمتلك طور الاناتيس لثنائي اوكسيد التيتانيوم الاهلية للاستخدامات العديدة في التطبيقات المختلفة، لذلك اكتسب تحضيره بشكل متبلور نانوي نقي-الطور اهمية كبيرة في العقد المنصرم. في العمل الحالي استعملت طريقة (المحلول-الجلاتين) في تحضير هذه المادة بالوصف المذكور. لقد وجد ان طريقة (المحلول-الجلاتين) يمكن ان تنتج هذه المادة بمساعدة التعتيق لفترة زمنية طويلة. تمتلك الحبيبات النانوية المحضرة شكلا متعدد الاظلاع تتراوح ابعاد اضلاعه بين (~30 – 70 نانومتر). يجب ان تتم عملية حرق الجلاتين في درجة حرارة اعلى من (500°م) للحصول على الحبيبات النانوية المتبلورة وبدرجة اقل من (800°م) لتفادي تكون طور الروتايل.

Anatase --- Rutile --- Titania --- Nanoparticles --- Sol-gel method

Worldwide attention is being focused on nanocrystalline zeolites and they are replacing conventional ones due to their pronounced potential in many fields. In this study, NaY zeolite has been prepared hydrothermally using sol –gel method and modified to the proton type by ion –exchange process. Characterization is made using X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Atomic force microscopy (AFM), Brunauer –Emmet- Teller (BET) nitrogen adsorption method, Ammonia Temperature programmed desorption (NH3-TPD) and Scanning electron microscopy( SEM). The effect of aging time, silica to alumina ratio is studied and the results show well defined crystalline structure with nano particle size (70 and 81nm) with surface area of 499m2/gm.

تتجه انظار العالم الى الزيولايت ذي التركيب البلوري والنانوي لتحل محل الانواع التقليدية لما لها من تطبيقات ملحوظة في شتى المجالات. في هذه الدراسة تم تحضير زيولايت نوع Na-Y بمعاملة الجل البلوري حراريا وتم اجراء عملية التبادل الايوني للحصول على HY زيولايت. تم اجراء الفحوصات التشخيصية مثل الاشعة السينية والتحليل الوزني الحراري والمطياف ذو الاشعة فوق الحمراء وتشخيص الابعاد بمجهر القوة الذرية والمجهر الالكتروني والمساحة السطحية بالامتزاز بالنتروجين وتحليل درجة الحرارة لعملية عكس الامتزاز للامونيا. تم دراسة تاثير زمن التفاعل ونسبة السليكا الى الالومينا. اثبت النتائج فعالية عملية التحضير ونجاحها في الحصول على تركيب مسامي بلوري بقياس 70 و81 نانومتر ومساحة سطحية 499متر 2/ غم.
