Abstract

A deposited layer of HgI2 has been prepared by using the solution technique. This technique takes a long time about (10 days) to get a film. The deposition time in this work reduced to (24 hours). The film consist of 2.25 mm thick layer of HgI2.The band gap energy and type of optical transition were determined from transmission spectra, and an optical band gap of Eg =2.12 eV for direct transition was estimated. x-ray diffraction of HgI2 to film shows a preferential orientation of peaks (101) and (102).

تم ترسيب اغشية يوديد الزئبق باستخدام تقانة تبخر المحلول.هذه التقانة تتطلب زمن ترسيب طويل بحدود 10 ايام,في بحثنا هذا تمكنا من الحصول على أغشية يوديد الزئبق بزمن ترسيب أقل بحدود 24 ساعة وبسمك 2,25 مايكرومتر.تم قياس النفاذية الطيفية ومن خلالها تم حساب قيم معامل الامتصاص وفجوة الطاقة وكانت بحدود 2,12 الكترون فولت.من خلال قياسات حيود الاشعة السينية . Abstract

Lead sulfide nanostructures (PbS-NS) thin films were prepared using Chemical Solution Deposition (CSD) method by varying of the complexing agent. The influence of the complex agents and the different molar concentration of these reducing agents on the morphology and structure properties of PbS nanostructures were investigated. The other parameters: concentration of the reactants, pH of solution, and temperature of bath were kept constant for the all depositions. The structure and morphology of prepared PbS nanostructures were analyzed by atomic force microscope AFM. It appears that the complexing agent at which the PbS crystals were prepared had a strong influence on their form and morphology. Studies revealed that there is an improvement in the structural quality with changing the concentration in some range. However, too high concentration of complexing agent could lead to the degradation in structural quality of thin film.

Abstract

In this work, the influences of complexing agents and their molar concentrations on the structural properties of lead sulfide (PbS) nanostructures prepared by chemical solution deposition (CSD) method were studied. Other experimental parameters, such as concentration of reactants, pH of solution and bath temperature, were kept constant during deposition process. The structure of the prepared samples was analyzed by x-ray diffraction (XRD). It was found that the structural form of PbS nanorods is strongly influenced by the complexing agent and its molar concentration as an improvement in the structural quality was observed with changing the concentration of the complexing agent. However, too high concentration of complexing agent could lead to the degradation in the structural quality of the prepared samples.
