Abstract

Aim: To compare the accuracy of right–angle paralleling and bisecting–angle radiographictechniques in the determination of apical fitness in endodontic therapy. Materials and Methods:Thirty three root canals of first upper and lower molar teeth have been used in this study. A K–filewas inserted into the canal until its tip was fit snuggly one millimeter shorter than the apex. Eachtooth then radiographed twice by the right–angle paralleling and bisecting–angle techniques. Thedistance between the file tip and the center of radiographical apex was directly measured by twoexaminers and the mean of each two measurements was recorded. Data were collected and analyzedstatistically by analysis of variance and Duncan’s Multiple Range test. Results: The mean valuerevealed that there were clear differences between the mean of measurements by the paralleltechnique (0.87mm) and that with the bisecting technique (0.39mm), when these two resultscompared with the mean of real measurements (1mm). One way analysis of variance revealed therewere significant differences in one of the three groups at p < 0.05 level. Duncan’ Multiple Range testshowed that the parallel measurements when compared with the real measurements the results showed that there was no significant difference but was significantly different from the bisecting measurements. Conclusion: It is preferable to the dentist to use the right–angle paralleling technique during root canal treatment, where it gives more accurate result for estimation of the working length.

Abstract

تركزت أهمية البحث في التعرف على ما مدى تمتع طلاب كلية التربية الرياضية جامعة البصرة لبعض عناصر اللياقة البدنية وما أثرها وعلاقتها بتوجيه الدافعية على ممارسة النشاط الرياضي في فرق كليتهم أو خارجها (في الأندية الرياضية), وجاءت مشكلة البحث من خلال ملاحظ الباحث ضعف توجيهات الدافعية الايجابية العالية ،وهذا ما يدل على إن الحصص الدراسية تؤكد على اللياقة البدنية دون الاهتمام بتوجهات الطلاب التي تلعب دورا كبيرا في الارتفاع بمستوى الطلاب .وبذلك تولدت لدى الباحث الرغبة في الكشف عن العلاقة بين بعض عناصر اللياقة البدنية وبين توجهات الدافعية لدى طلبة كلية التربية الرياضية بجامعة البصرة.وكانت أهم أهداف البحث1-يهدف البحث إلى تطبيق مقياس توجيه الدافعية على طلاب (المرحلة الأولى) في كلية التربية الرياضية / بجامعة البصرة.2-التعرف على علاقة بعض عناصر اللياقة البدنية بتوجهات الدافعية لدى طلاب (المرحلة الأولى) في كلية التربية الرياضية / بجامعة الصرة. عينة البحث وتجربته الريسية وقد اختيار الباحث عينة البحث بالطريقة العمدية من طلاب المرحلة الأولى كلية التربية والرياضة بجامعة البصرة وتم إجراء التجربة الرئيسية خلال الحصص الدراسية لطلبة كلية التربية الرياضة المرحلة الأولى في الفترة من 1 / 12 / 2011 لغاية11 / 2 / 2012 وقد تم إجراء اختبارات اللياقة البدنية على الملعب الخارجي للكلية.أهم الاستنتاجات 11-استنتج الباحث بان مقياس أبعاد توجه الدافعية المعد من قبل الباحثة(ديانا جل) والمعرب من قبل محمد حسن علاوي يمكن تطبيقه على البيئة العراقية. 2– استنتج الباحث وجد علاقة ارتباط عالية المعنوية بين الصفات البدنية (السرعة,القوة الانفجارية, المرونة , والرشاقة)وبين إبعاد التوجه الدافعية(توجه التنافسية, توجه الفوز,وتوجه الهدف) وكانت التوصيات :11-العمل على زيادة الدافعية لدى طلبة كلية التربة ولجميع المراحل من اجل الحصول على نتائج أفضال.2-رفع مستوى اللياقة البدنية للطلبة وكونها تعمل على زيادة الدافعية لديهم في مختلف اللالعاب الرياضية.

Abstract

Purpose: the aim of this in vitro study was to compare the marginal gap and internal fitness between single crowns and the crowns within three-unit bridges of zirconium fabricated by CAD-CAM system.Materials and methods: A standard model from ivoclar company was used as a pattern to simulate three-units bridge (upper first molar and upper first premolar) as abutments used to fabricate stone models, eight single crowns for premolar and eight of three units bridges. Crowns and bridges fabricated by CAD-CAM system were cemented on their respective stone models then sectioned at the mid-point buccolingaully and misiodistaly and examined under stereomicroscope.Result: the marginal gap in premolar crowns and premolar within bridge were within the acceptable value 120μm, one –way ANOVA showed that there was significant differences in the internal gaps among the areas. Independent t- Test showed there was significant differences between the premolar crowns and premolar crowns within bridges in marginal opening and cusp tip (lingually and distally)Conclusion: the marginal and internal gaps were in the bridge higher than those in the crowns. The areas of sloped surfaces such as chamfer area, occlusal area and cusp tip had high gap values in comparison with areas of flat surfaces such as axial wall and when the surface area of abutment increased, the marginal and internal gaps of abutment was increase.

Abstract

Aim: The present study compares the accuracy of conventional and digitalradiographic system in the determination of apical fitness in endodontic therapy.Method: Thirty three root canals of first upper and lower molar teeth were used inthis study; a K-file was inserted into the canal until its tip was fit snuggly onemillimeter shorter than the apex. Each tooth was radiographed twice with twodifferent radiographic systems; conventional & digital systems. The right-angleparalleling technique with film holders was used in both systems. The distancebetween the file tip and the center of radiographical apex from both imaging systemswas measured by two examiners and the mean of each two measurements wasrecorded, the data was collected and analyzed statistically by paired t- test.Results: The mean value of radiographic length reveals that there is a very smalldifference between the measurements of conventional radiographic system(0.8727mm) and those measurements of digital radiographic system (0.8367mm)when compared with the real length measurements (1mm). Paired t-test showsthat there is no significant difference (p < 0.05) was founded between the realmeasurements and the radiographic measurements are taken from both conventionaland digital systems. In conclusion both the conventional and digital imaging systemscan be used accurately for working length determination in an endodontic therapy.

Abstract

The football halls is one of the games that is characterized by a lot of basic skills and diversity, which the student or player must learn and proficiency it in order to raise the level of sports and preparing of scientific staffs. To achieve it, this must be based on a scientific method in planning and implementation and the use of assisting and teaching aids and the help for increasing learning. The devices and tools in the game of football has a large role in the process of learning and mastering the basic skills because of their great impact in the process of learning. The importance of assisting and educational aids, the idea came an experimental attempt to detect its impact on both learning and retaining the skills of passing, near and remote shooting and in the game of football inside halls.

تعد كرة قدم الصالات من الألعاب التي تمتاز بكثرة مهاراتها الأساسية وتنوعها والتي ينبغي على الطالب او أن يتعلمها ويتقنها بشكل جيد بغية رفع المستوى الرياضي وإعداد الكوادر العلمية ، ولتحقيق ذلك الأمر لابد من الاعتماد على الأسلوب العلمي في تخطيطها وتنفيذها وعلى استعمال الوسائل التعليمية والمساعدة من اجل زيادة التعلم ، فلعبة كرة القدم تؤدي فيها الأجهزة والأدوات المساعدة دورا كبيرا في عملية التعلم وإتقان المهارات الأساسية لما لها من تأثير كبير في عملية التعلم .ولأهمية الوسائل المساعدة والتعليمية جاءت الفكرة كمحاولة تجريبية للكشف عن تأثيرهما في التعلم والاحتفاظ بمهارتي المناولة والتهديف القريب والبعيد في لعبة كرة قدم الصالات.

Abstract

Aims: To determine the effect of addition of some chemical materials into heat cured acrylic resin denture base , the effect of storage periods and immersion media on its fitness accuracy. Materials and Methods: Fifty samples of heat cured acrylic resin denture base were prepared and divided into two groups: Control group( 10 samples without additives) and experimental group (40 samples with additives: 1% Chlorohexidine gluconate , 1.5% Nigella oil , 1.5% Thyme oil and 20% Plasticizer and caramel ) immersed in tap or distilled water for (1 week, 1 month, 3 months and 6 months. For fitness accuracy measurement , the surface area of the gap occurred between the posterior border of the denture base and the posterior margin of the stone cast were recorded by digital camera and measured with AutoCAD program .The collected data of fitness accuracy were subjected to the descriptive analysis (mean and standard deviation),one way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Duncan Multiple range test and 2 sample t-test at p<0.05. Results: The results of this study revealed that the incorporation of these chemical materials into heat cured acrylic resin increases its fitness accuracy . The highest value of fitness accuracy was achieved with the addition of 20% Plasticizer and caramel . The highest value of fitness accuracy was achieved after 6 month of immersion . Fitness accuracy of control and experimental groups immersed in tap water was better than that in distilled water. Conclusion: The additive materials, storage periods and immersion media had significant effect on fitness accuracy of denture base. The magnitude of this effect varies according to the type of additive materials, storage periods and immersion media. The highest value of fitness accuracy was achieved with experimental group of 20% Plasticizer& caramel after 6 months of immersion in tap water .

Abstract

Aims: To determine the effect of thermal cycling on the fitness accuracy of modified heat cured acrylic resin maxillary denture base. Materials and Methods: One hundred samples of heat cured acrylic resin maxillary denture base (Major base 2) were prepared and divided into two groups; Thermal cycling group and without thermal cycling group, each group contain; Control samples (10 samples of heat cured acrylic resin without additives) and modified samples (40 samples of heat cured acrylic resin with additives: 1% Chlorohexidine gluconate , 1.5% Nigella oil , 1.5% Thyme oil and 20% Plasticizer& caramel ). The thermal cycling employed in this study was 10 cycle per day at (5-55C°). The fitness accuracy measured after 70,300,900,1800 cycle at immersion periods of (1 week, 1,3,6 months) respectively. For fitness accuracy measurement , the surface area of the gap occurred between the posterior border of the maxillary denture base and the posterior margin of the stone cast were recorded by digital camera and measured with AutoCAD program . The collected data of fitness accuracy were subjected to the descriptive analysis(mean and standard deviation) , one way analysis of variance (ANOVA), 2 sample t-test and Duncan Multiple range test. Results: The fitness accuracy of thermal cycling group was less than that of without thermal cycling. For thermal cycling group, the highest value of fitness was achieved after 6 month of immersion for modified samples, while for control samples the highest value was achieved before immersion. Conclusion: Thermal cycling adversely affect the fitness accuracy of control and modified samples. The fitness accuracy of modified samples was better than that of control samples either with or without thermal cycling

Abstract

The effect of different phosphate- bonded investments on the marginal fitnessof porcelain- fused—to-metal copings cast by one type of noble alloy and one type ofbase metal alloy was studied. Three types of phosphate—bonded investments (Castorit -Super C, Norvest, and Iraqivest) were used for investing the thirty copings of eachgroup. The marginal fitness of each coping was determined by measuring the verticalmarginal discrepancies between the gingival margin of the coping and the margin ofthe preparation at four reference points on the labial, mesial, palatal and distal aspectsof the die by the aid of light traveling microscope .The statistical analysis of the results showed that there were significantdifferences in marginal fitness among different investments for both Pd- Ag& Ni-Cralloys. The Castorit- Super C and Norvest investments produced comparable resultswith both alloys, while the Iraqivest appeared less compatible with Pd-Ag alloy thanthe other two investments and it had comparable compatibility to Norvest investmentwhen used with Ni- Cr alloy. The Ni- Cr alloy (Heraenium NA) copings revealedsignificantly greater marginal discrepancy than the Pd-Ag alloy (QD) eopingsspecially when using Castorit- Super C and Norvest investments .

Abstract

Objectives: To determine the effectiveness of physical education program on the domains of the university students attitudes of physical activity and health, physical activity and mental health, physical activity and nutrition toward physical fitness.Methodology: A quasi-experimental design is carried out throughout the present study with the application of test-retest approach through the period from February 3rd 2013 to June 30th 2013. The study is conducted on purposive sample of(40) Undergraduate Students at the College of Science University of Baghdad . The sample is Consisted of (20) males and (20) females. Questionnaire of two main parts, Personal and demographic information and students' attitudes about physical activity is constructed and employed.Result: In general, the results show a significant positive improvement in students' attitudes toward physical fitness after implementation of the education program.Recommendation: The physical education program should be presented to wide-range number of university students with different fields of interest.

المستخلص:الهدف : لتحديد فاعلية برنامج التربية البدنية على المجالات من اتجاهات طلبة الجامعة من النشاط البدني والصحة والنشاط البدني والصحة النفسية، والنشاط البدني والتغذية نحو اللياقة البدنية.المنهجية: دراسة شبه تجريبية مع تطبيق نهج إعادة الاختبار للفترة من الثالث من شباط 2013 إلى الثلاثون من حزيران 2013. أجريت الدراسة على عينة غرضية من (40) طالبا وطالبة في كلية العلوم -جامعة بغداد. وتكونت عينة الدراسة من (20) ذكور و (20) إناث. وتم بناء الاستبيان من جزئين رئيسيين، المعلومات الشخصية والديموغرافية واتجاهات الطلبة نحو النشاط البدني .النتائج: بشكل عام، أظهرت النتائج تحسنا إيجابيا ملحوظا في اتجاهات الطلبة نحو اللياقة البدنية بعد تنفيذ برنامج التربية البدنية.التوصيات: ينبغي تقديم برنامج التربية البدنية لعدد واسع النطاق من طلاب الجامعات مع مختلف مجالات الاهتمام.

Abstract

Abstract-The ability to recognize quickly and accurately which we encounter isfundamental to normal intelligent human behavior. However, how the learning ofcategories which objects in the world fit into takes place is still an unanswered question.One thing is certain though; much of the learning that takes place allows humans tocope with the changing they encounter. One of the most important aspects of humanintelligence is its flexibility which has allowed humans to prosper in a dynamic world.Humans do not suffer from the ills of old fashioned hard rule based artificialintelligence. The study tested six cubes. The vertices of the cubes represent individualstimuli constructed from three binary dimensions. The dimension of the stimuli can beassumed to correspond to shape (square vs. circle), color (black vs. white), and size(large vs. small). Four stimuli belonged to one category and the other four to a differentcategory. These constraints result in six problem types, which are illustrated by the sixcubes. The circle vertices represent stimuli that belong to category A, and the squarevertices represent stimuli that belong to category B. The faces of the cubes represent aconstant value across one of the three dimensions that define the stimuli. This workpresents experiments with two different classifier systems: learning when fitness isbased upon strength and specificity, and learning when fitness is based on strengthalone. The system is implemented using Pascal programming language. Results showlower performance of the system when depending on strength alone. By contrast, therun with strength and specificity allows a fast desired output.
