Abstract

The objective of this work was to assess a compare grossly and microscopically, the effect of exposure time of He-Ne 632.8 nm. 1 m/watt in wound healing in rabbits. For this purpose 15 adult male rabbits were used, divided into 3 groups, 5rabbits in each group. Xylazine 20 mg/kg and ketamine 10mg/kg used I/m to induce general anesthesia. Surgical open wound was made and immediately. The 1st,2nd and 3rd groups were exposure to 632.8 nm. 1 m/watts low level laser during 3,5 and 7minte. All the groups exposure was done on 1st, 3rd , 5th and 7th day. The spacement for histological studies taken on 3rd, 5th and 7th days and immediately kept in 10% buffer formaline for 24 hours. The result revealed that among three groups were the wound closed by fifth day under microscopic examination the slide show complete remodeling and natural skin layers of dermis, epidermis in comparison with groups first and 3rd. The 1st group shows fibroblast and collagen fibers fill the gap, while the third group shows mature normal structure at same stage.

ان الهدف من هذه الدراسة هو مقارنة تأثير وقت التعرض لأشعة الهليوم –نيوم 632.8 انفراد 1 m/watt عيانياً ومجهريا"اً للجروح المستحدثة في الارانب. في هذه الدراسة استخدمت خمسة عشر ارنباً (ذكر) قسمت الى ثلاث مجاميع، كل مجموعة تحتوي على خمسة ارانب. استخدم االزايلازين 20ملغم/ كغم والكيتامين 10ملغم/كغم كمخدر عام وتم التخدير بعد ان نظفت المنطقة وعقمت بمحلول صبغة الايودين ومن ثم عمل جرح بطول 5سم ومباشرةً عرضت الى الاشعة الليزرية كل حسب الوقت المحدد ففي المجموعة الاولى كان التعريض لمدة ثلاثة دقائق والمجموعة الثانية لمدة خمسة دقائق والثالثة لمدة 7دقائق. كان التعريض مباشرة في اليوم الاول واليوم الثالث والخامس والسابع وكان اخذ العينات في اليوم الثالث والخامس والسابع بعد اخذ العينات قمنا بوضعها في محلول 10% فورمالين لمدة 24 ساعة ثم مررت في محلول الايثانول وبعدها بالبرافين لتحضير القوالب المعدة للتقطيع النسيجي وصبغها بصبغة هيماتوكسلين- ايوسين. وقد لوحظ ان طول الجرح المعمول قل بعد التعريض في جميع المجاميع من 5 الى 4 سم اما المجموعة الثالثة لوحظ اضافة الى ذلك حرق في الجرح وحوافه. اما في المجموعة الاولى لوحظ رطوبة الجرح وطراوة الحواف .وان جميع المجاميع كانت خالية من الالتهابات والتقرحات كما اثبت ذلك من الفحص المجهري للشرائح المحضرة واستنتج من البحث ان المجموعة الثانية كانت المثالية بسبب الالتئام السريع واستكمال النمو النسيجي واغلاق الجرح بصورة طبيعية وكاملة حيث ظهرت طبقات الجلد متميزة الى طبقة الأدمة وتحت الأدمة. مقارنة مع ماوجد في المجموعة الاولى اذ كانت لفايبروبلاست والكولاجين يملأن جوف الجرح بينما في الثالثة هنالك اعادة للتنظيم والتميز الا انه لازال غير ناضج بصورة غير متكاملة.

Abstract

The use of bovine saliva as a wound dressing rriaterial. In the present study, bovine saliva was_applied to experimental by second intention on the eilrperimental wounds in rats , and it's effects on_ epithelization, wound contraction newly formed granulation tissue. T f I. We evaluated the time interval required for wound healing using a standard wound with andwithout bovine saliva. The bovine saliva did interfere with a normal development of wound healing. -Histological evaluation was considered to parameters the effect of bovine saliva on woundhealing. The effect appear to be due to an increase collagen activity , consequently improving the T_ collagen matrix and enhancing the breaking strength by lysosomes with saliva

استخدم في هذه التجربة لعاب الابقار كاحد مواد التضميد بوضعة تجريبيا على الجروح المستحدثة في الجرذان من خلال تاثيره على عملية الترميم الظهاري وتقليص الجرح وتكوين نسيج حبيبي جديدتم تقييم الفترات الزمنية لالتئام الجروح من خلال استحداث جروح نموذجية باستعمال لعاب الابقار الذي يتداخل مع التطور الطبيعي لعملية الالتئاماظهر التقييم النسيجي تغيرات كبيرةلتاثير لعاب الابقار على التئام الجروح نتيجة الزيادة في الفعالية الكولاجينية اضافة الى زيادة في الوسادة الكولاجينيةوزيادة قوة التحطيم الاليسوسومي للعاب

Abstract

The efficacy of oil extract of the seeds of Loranthus europeus on wound healing wasinvestigated. After the preparation of the oil extract, the oil ointment of L. europeus wasprepared. A preliminary biochemical analysis were carried out to find out the chemicalcontents of L. europeus oil extract. The study involved 18 male rabbits, they were dividedequally and randomly into 3 groups depending on post wounding biopsy: p(3'd,7Ih and l4‘hdaypost wounding). Two full thickness cut wounds were done on the both sides of shoulderregions( the left wound as control and the left as treated wound) of each group of animals.The treated and control wounds were treated continuously with (0.5mg) oil ointment andVaseline base respectively, for 14”‘ day twice a day. All wounds were evaluatemacroscopically which included "measurement of contraction rate, daily wound contraction,hyperemia, exudation and scab formation." and microscopically for "neutrophil, macrophageinfiltration, re-epithelization, fibroblast proliferation with collagen production and new bloodcapillary formation". ABoth macroscopic and microscopic results showed the efficacy of L europeus seeds inpromoting the healing process significantly as compared with control wounds (P<0.05). Theoil extract treated wounds showed significant increase in hyperemia, exudation and scabformation, neutrophils and macrophages infiltration, fibroblast proliferation with collagenproduction and formation of new epithelium (re-epithelization), contraction rate and dailywound contraction at 3”’ day post wounding, as compared with control wounds, but thesecategories showed reduction at 7”‘ day except in macrophages, re—epithelization and‘ fibroblast with collagen production which all showed significant increase at 7"‘ and 14"‘ dayspost wounding as compared with control wounds. The preliminary chemical analysis foroil extract showed the presence of Glycosides, Carbohydrates, Aldehydes & Ketones,Trifrepenoides groups, protein and Polysaccharides, while Alkaloides, Flavonoides andSaponins are absent.

Abstract

Background: Wound healing, as a normal biological process in the human body, is achieved through four preciselyand highly programmed phases: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. Growth factors released inthe traumatized area promote cell migration into the wound area (chemotaxis), stimulate the growth of epithelialcells and fibroblasts (mitogenesis), initiate the formulation of new blood vessels (angiogenesis), and stimulate matrixformation and remodeling of the affected region. One of factors that effects on wound healing is a sex hormonesand one of these hormones is an estrogen hormone. A wide range of cutaneous cell types (eg, fibroblast,endothelial, epithelial, and inflammatory) expressed estrogen receptors, indicating potential estrogenresponsiveness.Materials and methods: Thirty two female New Zealand rabbits were used in this study. All animals wereovariectomized, and incisional wounds were done on the right (experimental for estrogen hormone application) andleft (control) sides of face for each animal, the control side was left to heal normally. Histological assessmentregarding the count of inflammatory cells was performed for healing intervals (3, 7, 10, 14 days).Results: Topical estrogen hormone application revealed enhancement of wound healing by reducing wound sizeand stimulating matrix deposition in comparison to control.Conclusion: Topical estrogen cream application results in significant progress of cutaneous wound healing, leavingno scar or crust formation and can minimize the probable wound complications

Abstract

Background and objective: Impaired wound healing is a major complication of diabetes mellitus. This study was carried out to determine the healing process of oral mucosa in diabetic rats and the role of systemic tumor necrosis factor alpha inhibitor (infliximab). Methods: Thirty eight male rats were divided into two groups, the normoglycemic group (11 rats), and diabetic group (27 rats) that were rendered diabetic by alloxan injection. Two months later, wound was created in the lateral side of the tongue for both groups. The diabetic group was then subdivided into two subgroups, 14 rats received 5mg/kg infliximab subcutaneous injection at the day of wound creation while the other 13 rats received saline injection. After 7 days, biopsies of the tongue were collected and subjected to histological and histochemical procedure. Results: Histological examinations showed delayed healing in the diabetic group with persistence of epithelial discontinuity, large amount of granulation tissue and destruction of the underlying muscle fibers. In the subgroup injected with infliximab, reepitheliazation of the wound was demonstrated with well arranged underlying collagen fibers. Using PAS stain, diabetic group revealed a dramatically high amount of PAS positive precipitants in the lamina properia, especially in the wall of the blood vessels, while with infliximab injection, the PAS+ve precipitants were more prominent than normoglycemic group but less than diabetic group without infliximab. Conclusion: These findings suggest that infliximab accelerated mucosal wound healing in the diabetic rats with the formation of well organized connective tissue.

Abstract

To declare the wound healing activity of cumin seeds on excision wound models in female rabbits. The cumin seeds obtained from local market from the plant know as Cuminum cyminum were subjected to solvent acetone, the oil ointment were prepared and applied topically three times a day to excision wound for 14th days post operative and compared with control. The reduction of wound was studied as a percent macroscopically and the revitalization and formation new tissue was studied histopathologically on excision wound. Its concluded the treated wound showed a faster rate of wound reduction compared with control, this was further supported with his to pathological studies.

لبيان فاعلية بذور الكمون على التئام الجروح في أنثى الأرانب. تم استخدام بذور الكمون والتي تم الحصول عليها من السوق المحلية من نبات يعرف باسم Cuminum cyminum والذي تم تعريضها للمذيبات ، تم تحضير المرهم والذي استخدم موضعيا ثلاث مرات يوميا على الجرح لمدة 14 يوما آخر من احداث الجرح وتم مقارنته مع مجموعه حيوانات السيطرة. ثم تمت دراسة تقلص الجرح كنسبة مئوية عيانيا وملاحظة تنشيطها لتكوين النسيج مجددا , وذلك بالمتابعه بالفحص النسجي لمراحل الالتئام للجروح . وعليه اظهرت النتائج معدلات تقلص الجروح المعالجة اكبر مما هي عليه لجروح حيوانات السيطرة .

Abstract

An attempt was made to have a better understanding of wound healing in skin of adult rabbits. Stages of healing showed in during microscopic changes in epidermal and dermal regions. The ratio of changes was rapid up during 48 hours. The epithelium invaded actively underlying connective tissue. There was a closely packed mass of cells immediately subjacent to the epithelium, also there was an appearance of collagen fibers laying between the cells. Close contact between dermal and epidermal cells was happened at the time when epithelial invasion and basement membrane was reformed close to the epithelium.

تم القيام بهذه المحاولة لغرض الحصول على فهم أفضل لشفاء الجروح في جلد الأرانب البالغة,وقد أوضحت عملية الشفاء هذه تغيرات مجهريه تم اثباتها في مناطق الادمة وتحت الأدمة , وكانت نسبة التغيرات سريعة لغاية ثمان وأربعون ساعة , وغطت الخلايا الطائية بشكل فعال النسيج الرابط الموجود. وكانت مجموعه من الخلايا مترابطة بشكل دقيق وملاصق بشكل مباشر في منطقة تحت الأدمة مع وجود ألياف غراوية بين الخلايا . ووجد ترابطا دقيقا" بين خلايا الادمة عندما تشكل الغشاء القاعدي والاكتساء ألطلائي .

Abstract

The present study was designed to investigate the effect of 10, 30 and 50 gauss of magnetic fields on wound healing. Thirty adult rabbits of both sexes were used .The animals were divided into 3 groups of 10 rabbits each.3cm wound were made in all rabbits at gluteal region under effect of Xylazine hydrochloride and ketamine hydrochloride, the groups one, two and three exposed to magnetic field in dose 10,30 and 50 gauss at the site of wound for 15 minutes daily for seven days . The study showed that the static magnetic field has resulted in dryness of the edges of the wound associated with wound redness at the time of exposure then disappeared shortly after the discontinuation of the treatment. wounds remained open during the 7 days of observation period . Histopathological examination at various stages of wound healing, various parameters were investigated revealed ulcer formation, epidermal thickening, dermal fibrosis, fibroblast infiltration, inflammatory cells infiltration and scab formation. The result revealed that the formation of erosion were noticed in all treatments after the first and second week with the least effect that appeared with the dose of 50G of magnetic field. Epidermal thickening has been seen in all treatments after the first and second week of treatments and continued after the third week . When the dose of 10G of magnetic field was used while the epidermal thickening continued after the fourth week when the dose of magnetic field increased to 50G. Dermal fibrosis was seen in all doses, at all the times of the experiment, however, it was highest with the doses of 30G and 50G. on fibroblast infiltration, all treatments showed no effect. Inflammatory cells infiltration was seen with doses of 10G and 50G and after the first and second week of treatment and continued after the third week after the treatment with the dose of 10G ,the inflammatory cells infiltration was noticed and only a small change was seen in the dose of 50G at the first week. The treatment with 10G and 50G of magnetic field has resulted in the formation of scab after the first and second week of the treatment Scab formation did not appear in the group treated with a dose of 30G of magnetic field .

صممت هذه الدراسة لغرض معرفة تأثير المجال المغناطيسي للجرعات 10و30 و50 كاوس على شفاء الجروح المفتوحة في الأرانب . أستعمل 30 أرنبا من كلا الجنسين و قسمت الى 3 مجاميع لكل مجموعة 10 ارنب. وقد خدرت الحيوانات تحت تأثير الكيتامين والزايلازين ثم عمل جرح بطول 3 سم في منطقة الفخذ. عرضت المجموعات الاولى والثانية والثالثة للمجال المغناطيسي وبجرعات10و30و50 كاوس في منطقة الجرح لمدة 15 دقيقة يوميا ولمدة 7 ايام, أظهرت نتائج الدراسة إن المجال المغناطيسي أدى الى جفاف حافات الجرح مع إحمرار منطقة الجرح في وقت التعريض ويختفي بعد فترة قصيرة من توقف التعريض . كشفت النتائج على إن تكوّن القرحة قد ظهر في جميع المعاملات بعد الأسبوع الأول والثاني وكانت أقلها في المجموعة 50 كاوس من المجال المغناطيسي . كما لوحظ تثخن البشرة في جميع المعاملات بعد الأسبوعين الأول والثاني من المعاملة وأستمر حتى الأسبوع الثالث عند إستعمال الجرعه 10 كاوس بينما إستمر التثخن حتى الأسبوع الرابع عند زيادة جرعة المجال المغناطيسي الى 50 كاوس . لقد أظهرت النتائج حالة تليف الجرح في جميع المعاملات وفي جميع أوقات التجربة وكانت اعلى معدل في معاملة الجرعتين 30 و50 كاوس أما في إرتشاح الأرومات الليفية فلم تظهر في المعاملات أي تأثير . ظهرت حالة إرتشاح الخلايا الألتهابية في المعاملات 10 كاوس و30 كاوس بعد الأسبوعين الأول والثالث من المعاملة واستمرت بعد الأسبوع الثالث من معاملة 10 كاوس ، بينما هناك إرتشاح قليل في معاملة 50 كاوس بعد الأسبوع الأول. لقد ظهر تكون القشرة في المعاملات 10 كاوس و50 كاوس من المجال المغناطيسي بعد الأسبوع الأول والثاني و لم تظهر في مجموعة 30 كاوس.

Abstract

Background: Wound healing is a complex dynamical interaction between various cell types, the extracellular matrix, cytokines, and growth factors. osteoponetin is a substance that acts as an anti-inflammatory.Aims of study: The study was designed to identify the role of local exogenous applications of osteopontin on wound healing (in cheek skin).Materials and methods: Thirty adult male albino rats weighting an average of (250-300gm) used in this study, incisional wounds were made in the skin of the cheek of rat and they were divided into the following groups:A-Control group: 15 rats treated with 1μ l of normal salineB-Experimental groups: 15 rats treated with topical application of 1μl osteopontin.The scarification of animals were done for the healing intervals (1, 5 and 10 days) Histological analysis and assessment of number of inflammatory cell, Thickness and contraction of incision were performed for both experimental and control groups for all healing periods.Results: Histological analysis revealed that osteopontin accelerate wound healing of cheek skin and there was highly significant difference among studied groups in periods 1,5,10 days. Regarding mean values of epithelial thickness, inflammatory cell count and contraction of wound area have reported a highest value different in 1, 5 and 10 days durations.Conclusion: It can be concluded that application of osteopontin shown efficacy in the healing of skin wounds induced in rats
